Chapter 369 - Breaking The System Part 3
"Wha-What do you mean you were waiting for me to arrive? What do you mean by empress?" Aoi finally asked after regaining her freedom.
"You see, every empress whose power is about to dissipate must wait until the next empress, the one who is able to cast more than just their single element, to stand before them as you are now. Let me ask, little one, have you ever cast something that you should not be able to cast?" Asoli asked.
"Umm… I am not sure if this is right or not, but I can make magma rain from the skies… But I just thought it was because it was a liquid…" Aoi answered truthfully.
Asoli smiled and patted the top of Aoi's head. "This is because you are able to control other elements. Magma may be a type of liquid, but it still belongs to the fire element. You should not be able to do something like make it rain from the skies if you were just a normal water elemental. Just like how I, an ice elemental, could cause the earth underfoot to rise up.
"These are all the signs of an empress. As you raise your power, you will slowly understand the other aspects of the other elements. It is a natural course of things. And I have been waiting here to pass on two things. First is the knowledge of every elemental empress of ages passed as well as the crown that only an elemental empress can wear." Asoli waved her hand, and a golden light flew into the spot between Aoi's brow, and at the same time, a small crown appeared on her head. It was golden in color and had different color gems embedded into it.
Aoi suddenly felt a strong power surge throughout her body. Swirls of water swirled around her. Her eyes began to glow with a golden light. Seeing Aoi's reaction caused Asoli to smile. "It seems you were on the verge of becoming an intermediate Elemental already. This will give you a more useful body. But with a little help from me, we can age it a bit more to be more like a human teen."
Under Asoli's guidance, Aoi's body began to grow. Her little body expanded, and hair began to grow on her head, reaching down to her waist. This process was slow and took almost an hour to complete, but when everything was over, a young teen girl around fourteen to fifteen years of age stood in front of Aosli. "Mmm… Very cute. But we can not allow you to walk around like normal, so I will give you a spell to make clothing for yourself. "
With another wave of her hand, a golden light entered Aoi's head once more. "With this, I have exhausted the last of my powers. I can now leave this plane and ascend to the holy land of all elementals. I wish you luck, little one. Remember, your path is long. Take your time and grow strong. I wish you safe journeys ahead." Asoli left these words before her body turned into balls of golden light and disappeared.
Aoi's eyes slowly opened, revealing a dazzling golden color. Her skin was now snow white, and her hair was a light blue. Aoi looked around in a daze and felt a little sad to see that Asoli was no longer there. She bowed her head deeply as she said: "Thank you for the teachings you have bestowed upon me…"
With a wave of her hand, Aoi formed a long blue one piece dress that went past her knees before floating into the air and heading out of the palace. Her destination was to return to Kana. She hoped her new form would surprise her.
---
Unknown to Aoi, a similar scene was taking place in a room deep under the cathedral of the city of the dead. Kana stood there and smiled, seeing the little guy in front of her now standing tall like a five to six year old human. Naru opened his eyes to see Kana looking back at him and smiled: "I did it. I became an intermediate elemental!"
"You did!" Kana reached out and patted him on the head. He did not look any different from his previous form. But now, he was much bigger and had shoulder length black hair.
"Since you are now safe. I guess it is my turn…" Kana said with a smile before turning towards the ball of death element. Kana took a deep breath and let it out before calming her mind. "No matter what happens, I can not let myself ascend without finishing things up here."
Kana closed her eyes, firming up her resolve as she reached out and touched the orb. Naru quickly jumped back as he knew what was about to come. The death element swirled around Kana's arm like it was extremely excited. It made its way into her mouth, and down her throat spreading throughout her entire body. The stone floor under Kana's feet began to crack as she suddenly went into her dragon form. Her purple hair went completely white as her skin began to pale. "I am death, and death is me…"
*Dong!*
Kana's voice reverberated throughout the realms. Outside the city of the dead, Camlia jumped up and down as she hugged Yaya. "It's happening! It is really happening!" Yaya had tears in her eyes as she waited anxiously for Kana to finish her transformation.
In the realm of gods, Creige sat with Rain and Angelica in his lap, looking up at the sky. The bond between him and Kana was back and stronger than ever. When he heard Kana's words just now, he knew his wife was doing something ridiculous again. A smile crept upon his lips as he hugged his little girls.
"Mama will be here soon…" Rain whispered.
"Mmm… Mama will be with us soon…" Angelica suddenly burst into tears. This was followed by Rain. Creige smiled warmly and rocked the two girls back and forth. He knew they had been holding back. He had heard their silent cries at night.
"Mmm… Your mama will be with us soon…"
