Chapter 428 - The Past: Intertwined Fates Part 1
"Treason!? You are blaming Tilia for treason!? It was you people who tried to assassinate her!" Ceilie was ready to chop the man's head off. She had never been so angry in her life. Her little sister was almost killed by these people telling her she committed treason for calling for help!
"Humph! She has caused distress amongst the populace and tried to push her reforms on the people. Acting like a tyrant in the process! A tyrant should die! How can it be called an assassination if we were just following the people's will? The people want back what was taken from them! We want back the days of old, not some new harmonistic bullsh*t she is trying to spread." Each noble kneeling on the floor right now was human. They were also the first to speak out when Tilia called for all beastkin to be freed. But because they only filed complaints and had no charges that could be pinned on them, they were able to keep their titles despite the blatant dislike for the new reforms.
??
"You make what you are saying sound so righteous! But in actual fact, you are the one committing treason for trying to assassinate your queen!" Ceilie yelled as she drew her sword. "I should cut you down her…"
"Sister!" Tilia's weak voice echoed throughout the room. Ceilie held her tongue and turned to look at Tilia. When she saw Tilia nod at her, Ceilie gritted her teeth and put her sword away before returning to her original position.
Tilia looked at Yuthia and asked: "Big Sister Yuthia, bring me over there, please."
Yuthia nodded and bent down to scoop Tilia into her arms. She then proceeded to walk towards the nobles, Tilia's guard moving along with her. When they came to a stop in front of the nobles, Tilia gazed at each one of them coldly. "You say you want to continue slavery? Then what if I say yes and enslave you and your families? What if I decided your daughters and granddaughters must serve every soldier in our grand army every single night? What if I say your sons and grandsons must spend their days and nights in the mines with no rest and only a single loaf of stale bread a day? You want slavery?
"I do not mind enslaving the entire human race on this continent to teach you and your followers what it means to be a slave. Have you thought about the lives of my kin? Have you thought of the treatment that they have had to endure while being slaves? Do you think they were happy? They were ripped from their homes, forced to do so many unspeakable things, and you want all that to return? Don't say that what I am saying is not true. I used to be human after all and have seen it with my own eyes.
"I ask you, is there something broken in that mind of yours? Did you think you could get away with your actions? I am the queen of this continent, the ruler of the massive Rural kingdom that my sister bestowed upon my father, which he then passed down to me. You must remember it is your way of thinking that brought devils from hell here, killing millions of our people, mine and yours.
" You say that me bringing in outside help is a crime? But I say it is not if it means cleaning out trash such as yourself. You seem to forget I am still the queen. Heed my word!" Tilia suddenly yelled out: "Since these men and those in the dungeons love slaves so much, I now pass down an order. Arrest their families and allow them to enjoy the experience of what true slavery is since these people want it to return so much. We will have a public announcement explaining what is going on, followed by a public auction. Each one of them and their family members will be branded and fitted with a slave collar and sold off to the highest bidder."

The Past…
Thirty years passed, and a young woman stood high above on top of a snowy mountain peak. Her white hair fluttered in the breeze as her ruby red eyes looked out over the vast mountain range in front of her. "I wonder if I am strong enough yet…"
Kana looked down at her hands that were rough from the years of hard work she had been doing. She still looked the same as she did thirty years ago. Although her original clothing was now replaced with animal pelts that she had worked into clothing herself, she still looked just as beautiful as the day she left the demon city.
All this time, Kana had decided to stay away from people. She did not dare to go near any settlements. She felt she was a curse on society, someone who brought nothing but bad luck to those around her. This was why she never said goodbye to those who survived that incident thirty years ago. She was afraid if she spent any more time with them, she would end up causing more misfortune.
Kana was lost in her own world as she continued to gaze out over the landscape. The cold, bitter wind and snow that covered her bare feet did not bother her. She felt nothing. Her only thought was how to how to get stronger. "I found you…"
A melodic voice filled Kana's ears. She turned and looked at the handsome man who appeared behind her. She only took a short glance before turning away, completely ignoring his existence. "Kana, have you thought about it?"
Letting out a sigh, Kana turned and looked at the handsome man with an annoyed expression. "Ar'en, how many times do I have to tell you? I can not and will not get into a relationship with anyone. I only bring misfortune to those around me."
"You say this, but you do not say that you dislike me. When will you finally open up your heart again? When will you show me your smile?" Ar'en had appeared in front of Kana a few times in the past few years. He could never get that Kana's sad, lonely expression that she had that day as she left out of his mind. Before he knew it, she was all he thought about. At first, he only checked in on her after searching far and wide to make sure she was safe. But as time went on, he began to understand what his feelings were for her until finally, a few years ago, he asked her to be his.
Kana glared at Ar'en before flying up into the sky. She turned around and looking Ar'en straight in the eye. "I am nothing more than a cursed being who brings death to others. Just forget about me and move on."
