"Eie, Tri'an, I will open a portal for you. Tri'an, if you feel funny in any way when going over to our side, run back through the portal. I will not close it until you give me the okay." Kana was worried that since she was a spirit that maybe she would not be able to leave this world easily.
"I will be careful." Tri'an wrinkled her little nose. She hoped she wouldn't have any issues on the other side. She was quite excited to see another world. Plus… Tri'an snuck a glance at Eie. She also wanted to get to know Eie more after seeing some memories that floated into her mind.
??
"Alright, here you go then!" Kana said as she opened the portal. Eie took Tri'an's hand and passed through it. Kana walked over and stuck her head through to see how things were. "How do you feel?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary. I can breathe the air just fine and do not feel uncomfortable." Tri'an replied.
"Eie, turn our portal on and put up some kind of barrier around it that you can deactivate quickly if need be. Just keep it on for now until you can create a smaller one. Keep track of Tri'an's vitals at all times, and for the time being, do not leave the lab." Kana knew she was being a little overprotective right now, but she did not want any harm coming to Tri'an.
Tri'an blushed slightly as she bowed to Kana: "To have the goddess of death show such concern for me is truly… Truly something I would never have dreamt of. Thank you for your kindness."
"I am just a normal person just like you, and are we, not friends now? I have to look out for my friends and make sure no harm comes to them." Kana said with a smile. "Anyway, you two, be careful. Tri'an, if you feel even slightly sick, tell Eie."
"I will. Thank you again." Tri'an gave her thanks and bowed her head once more.
"Kana, the portal is up! I will have a barrier up in ten minutes." Eie yelled out.
"Okay, I will guard the area. I will leave in fifteen minutes." Kana closed her portal and flew up into the sky with Aoi and Naru. She pulled out the small device that Eie had given her before and spun around in a circle. "It has a fairly quick beeping sound over in this direction."
"Just about every direction is causing it to go crazy, though." Aoi frowned. She felt the device was barely useful.
"To be honest, for something that Eie had tossed together in such a short time on her own, it is not half bad." Kana had to hand it to Eie, she was quick with her work.
"I guess that is true… Anyway, we will follow you wherever you wish to go." Aoi said as she grabbed Naru's hand. Naur had a big grin on his face that quickly turned gloomy as a thought came to mind. It seems his wife only wanted to hold hands when she felt like it.
After waiting fifteen minutes, Kana took off, flying in the direction with the quickest beeping. As she flew, she saw nothing but monsters. There did not seem to be any civilization around here. But when she thought about how Tri'an suddenly appeared, she felt that maybe sprites were not seen unless they wanted to be seen.
"Kana, if we go any further, we will be leaving land, and it is getting dark." Aoi said as she saw a vast ocean on the other side of the mountains.
"This mountain peak looks safe enough from the behemoths. I will make us a cave to hide out in for the night. " Kana said as she flew down towards the mountain peak. She used her flame breath to clear the snow, then, with her fists, punched a hole in the mountain peak face creating a small cave. "I wished I had an earth element…" Kana said as he scooped the broken debris out of the cave.
"What do you think we will find when we get there?" Naru asked as she sat down in front of the fire Kana had made.
"Who knows. If what Eie said is true, then this might be a holy element." Kana replied. She had no idea what they were going to find. It could even be some kind of strange artifact that is not even of an element. But whatever it was, it was giving a reaction to the device, Eie made.
"Naru, less talk and more work on leveling up. You need to grow up faster, or this young lady will look like an old woman by the time you get to look my age." Aoi scolded. She was always on Naru to work harder towards his next evolution.
Back inside the lab, Eie was scratching her head as Tri'an Looked at her device. "Very interesting to think you have already harnessed a bit of the ley lines power."
"What do you mean?" Eie asked.
"The signals you are using to find worlds are the sounds of the ley lines. By combining the right pattern you will eventually find a new world but this is at random and some places might not even exist anymore. Just knowing you have already tapped the edge of the ley lines means you can proceed to work on creating a more precise system. A system that will no longer need to be randomized but connect directly to the ley lines. Eie, you are a very bright person. A genius of her time." Tri'an was very surprised to build something that can actually detect even a fraction of the ley lines has only been done a few times throughout history. But they were never able to do anything with it. The ley lines were connecting points. Once you connect both ends you could travel freely between the points. They could not only be used for travel but also to gather information. They were handy in many different ways.
