Chapter 659 - In Your Care
Chapter 659 - In Your Care
"Master, I got them!" A bubbly voice filled with happiness rang out as the four qi condensation realm cultivators dangled in the air.
"Mm… Good job, Ako." Kana said as she wiped her fake tears and stood up. Kana had called Ako out a while ago, who squished down to the ground and was waiting for the right chance to restrain the four young men. Kana had been speaking to her through their contract connection and decided to use this chance to get some practice in. "Now then… from this moment on, we will be fighting one on one. Ako here will release you according to your strength, and then you will fight me.. Make sure you come at me as if your life depends on it because I will be doing the same. Ako, release whoever is weakest."
While the street they were on was a back street, the commotion had brought out quite a few spectators. Many thought Kana's actions at first were nothing but stupid, but now seeing the divine beast who called Kana master standing there easily restraining the four young men, they now understood why she had such confidence.
But what these people did not realize was that Kana had also told Ako to not interfere unless she was on death's door. She did not wish to die here, but she needed to train against other cultivators of a higher cultivation to see just how far she had come after spending so much time training with Tina.
Ako did as she was told and released one of the young men. He couldn't help but blush because by him being released first proved he was the weakest of the four. But when he stood in front of Kana and felt the killing intent coming off her, he quickly got into a battle stance.
Kana rested her sword on her shoulder once more and stared coldly at the young man. "People with bad intentions will never live long. Nana had never done anything wrong, yet you still tried to set her up. Wen Yang's death was justified, but you refused to listen to Nana's side of the story.? On top of that, even though you had a chance to run, you still gave chase. If you just left and not followed me, none of this would be happening to you."
Kana had given them a chance. But they didn't take it. She could only sigh. But at the same time, it was a chance for her to train. "Ready your sword. We will now fight!"
The young man gritted his teeth. He knew he could not retreat. With A divine beast behind him, there was no way for him to run. But he also knew he couldn't actually try to kill this girl, or the divine beast would kill him! Deciding to toss away his face, he finally asked: "If I get on my hands and knees and beg, can we end this here?"
Kana snorted at this. She brought her sword to the side as she asked: "Would you have let Nana off if she begged? She was forced into a corner and had no choice but to kill those who wanted to harm her. But you still wanted to take her away without hearing her side. So you only have two choices, either fight and die or stand still and die. Either way, your going to die."
Kana did not let the young man say another word as she sheathed her sword, stepped on air, and shot forward. The young man was shocked and confused. He did not understand why Kana would sheath her sword before attacking. But as he readied himself to block her attack, he heard a soft whisper: "Phantom sword…"
All he heard was her words, he never saw Kana pull her sword from its sheath. All he saw was a blade of light flying towards him. Panicked, he quickly raised an earthen barrier. "Raised ground!" The young man yelled out as he slammed his palm off the ground. A wall of rock raised up into the air just in time to block Kana's attack. As Kana's attack hit the rocky wall, the rocky wall shattered in all directions, but it was still able to stop Kana's sword qi from going any further.
"Hmmm… So this is how cultivators used elements." Kana flipped her body around and sprang off the air once more, landing back in her original position.? She could tell that with her attacks, long ranged combat would not be ideal. "Troublesome…"
But she already figured this would be the case. When she fought the blood clone, it was the same. As of right now, even if she was a rank two demonic beast, she was far too weak. If she used her dragon breath, she could easily win, but that was a trump card she had to keep. "It seems this will be good training then."
Kana once again shot forward, but this time she did not use a long ranged attack and instead went for a frontal attack. Seeing this, the young man who was shocked by Kana's power snorted as he yelled out: "Earthen spikes!"
Spikes rose from the rock at an amazing speed stabbing towards Kana. But Kana only looked at them and used her sword to parry the first spike, launching herself up and over the others as she struck down with her sword at the young man. "You still lack experience." Kana's cold voice rang out as her sword came down. A splash of blood flew, splashing on her cheek as the young man in front of her body split in two. She had cut him right down the middle, right through his sword. Everyone saw Kana still in her landing position and the young man still standing with his half sword raised. The other half fell to the ground. A clanging sound was heard as it hit the stone before the young man's body broke apart and fell to the ground.
Kana stood up and flicked her sword as she looked at the other three young men. Feeling disappointed and not really wanting to continue, she still said: "Next!"
Moments later, Kana flicked the blood off her sword and began walking back towards her courtyard, feeling even more disappointed. One killed himself, the other two didn't even fair as well as the weakest one. This kind of training was useless to her.
Ako looked at the dead bodies before quickly following after her. "Master, are you sure you want to leave the bodies there?"
"Mmm… It is a warning to whoever is behind this not to continue. If they do, it will be them lying in the street. Ako, my dao path will be one filled with blood. Are you sure you still wish to follow me?"? Kana asked. Although she did not care for taking lives, she still knew this world was a bloody one. This means by the time she finally leaves this world, she will have an aura of death and killing intent on her that she will never be able to wash away. She hopes it will not scare her family.
"Master, I signed a master servant contract with you, meaning I will follow you until the day you die and I will die with you. So no matter how things turn out I will fight by your side." Ako replied without hesitations.
Kana smiled as she said: "Then I will be in your care."
