?978 Moving Out
"Reports keep coming in about other kingdoms falling to the skeletons who are coming out of portals." One of Kana's Generals, General Ning, reported.
"I see…. After the portals were closed in our kingdom and the neighboring kingdoms, no one has reported any more portals, so I believe the one who is behind this is also monitoring the situation closely. Luckily the six nation alliance is strong, and they allowed me to stick a barrier around our lands." Kana tapped the armrest on her throne before standing up. "I will go take a look at the situation in the other kingdoms."
"Your Highness! I suggest you do not! It is already bad enough that the invasion has begun, but if you are captured or harmed in any way we will not be able to protect our empire, never mind our allies." General Ning strongly opposed of Kana doing anything that dealt with going off on her own.
Kana rubbed her temples. "I am doing it anyway. I need to see the damage for myself. If we can work out a way to…."
"Mama! Someone the Dong Kingdom's king is calling." Rain suddenly appeared in the room and handed Kana a crystal.
Kana sent some spiritual qi into it, causing it to activate and show a holographic image of an old man standing there. "Thank the heavens you answered my call, Empress Kana. I have to ask if there is any way we can form an alliance army to help the lands outside our own to push back the invaders. If we let things go like this, I am afraid we may become overwhelmed. If we begin fighting back now, we may be able to push the enemy away and save more lives."
Kana had been thinking the same thing. At least she was not the only one. "Rain, contact the other leaders. We will be having a six leader summit!"
"On it!" Rain quickly disappeared to do as she asked.
An hour later, all leaders were sitting around a table. Kana had sent out her divine sense over the entire continent to see many kingdoms were quickly benign overrun. But there seemed to be a strong defensive line building not too far out from the surrounding kingdoms. "As you can see, the other kingdoms that border your own have all begun forming mix units. We will do the same, but they will all be protected by me. I will not allow your men to be harmed as they do their best to protect your kingdoms and the fate of all beings in this world. But, as you can see, the number of skeletons will require millions of soldiers. Which means we will have very few people to protect our own lands. So we will do this…. Each of my daughters, my husband, and myself will go to and hold the lines. Each king will join them."
"Wait, you want us to step onto the battlefield!?" One of the kings cried out. He was on the chubby side with lower cultivation which made him the weakest out of all the kings present.
"You do not think we will just protect you for free, do you? You need to work for it!" Kana yelled. "You will also have one of my barriers around you, so your lives will be protected. Unless someone far above my level comes and attacks you, which I highly doubt there are enough people in the multiverse that can even do that. I mean, for one thing, who would waste the time to come down and try to fight with me?"
"Empress Kana makes sense. Nothing is gained by sitting on our thrones. We will fight with our people and give them the morale they need to keep going. Because even if we sit in the safety of our barrier, then what? We will never be able to leave. Cultivation resources will become scarce, and we will end up fighting one another. It makes more sense to follow Empress Kana's plan." The Dong Kingdom's king stated as he stood up and addressed the other kings.
"I agree as well." With this, even though the king who complained earlier, all kings agreed to Kana's plan. Not that they had a choice because Kana planned to tie them up and bring them with her anyways.
With everything set in motion. Kana had Devan come back to the capital. Although he was surprised at the turn of events since their empire was so peaceful, he did not mind since he could always finish his requests later.
It was also decided that Kana would go to the Dong Kingdom because the skeletons were almost knocking on their front door and were marching in the millions. Every kingdom worked quickly, and Kana even separated her military into multiple forces to join up with the neighboring kingdoms. Each kingdom's soldiers were also protected by Kana's barriers.
She then teleported everyone to where they needed to go to bolster the front lines. Only when that was done did she move out herself. And now she was looking down on a battlefield that was dyed red in blood.
No one even noticed her floating in the air as she stared at the movements of the soldiers. But she did find one thing odd, and that was the way these skeletons fought. They seemed to grow stronger by sucking the life force out of their enemies. "King Dong, I think we have an issue." Kana frowned. She was watching the front line get stronger with each push as more and more soldiers died. With a wave of her hand, she quickly wrapped the other kingdom's soldiers in a barrier to see if it would protect them from losing their life force. But sadly… "Tell the men to fall back. We are only feeding them this way."
For an enemy to weaken their opponents in such a way and grow stronger at the same time, the death race was not an easy race to deal with. Kana waved her hand and destroyed the enemy's front lines leaving thousands of miles of barrier land of nothingness. She did not wish to step in because the damage would take too much of a toll on the land, but it seemed she would have no choice.
