Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Brandon Piers Awakens

The car sped along the way.

Abigail clenched her fists, her heart tightening together, eyes fixed ahead.

Noel Roberts, legs crossed, sat lazily in the car. “You seem to care more about the child than Brandon does. One would think George Piers is your son.”

“Young Master Roberts, you’re joking.” Abigail suddenly heard this and looked up to see Noel’s probing glance. She responded casually, but remained tense.

“Oh, really?” he asked with deep meaning.

Abigail acted as if she didn’t hear it, focusing entirely on the road ahead.

City Hospital.

Pullan, eyes rimmed red, looked at the just-awakened Brandon Piers. “Second Master.”

“I’m not dead yet. Why are you crying?” Brandon replied weakly. His chest hurt so much he doubted everything, yet he had to watch a six-foot-tall man enact a sorrowful drama in front of him, making his mood worse.

“But…” nearly so.

Pullan didn’t dare say more, fearing it would break the Second Master’s heart further.

“How’s the old man doing?” Brandon did not expect the little fatty would really perform surgery on him. Although the pain was intense, his mood was good.

Pullan wiped away a tear. “The old man insisted on waiting until your surgery ended. The second branch took the opportunity to invite him to return to the capital, but there’s a deadlock. Thankfully, Kelvin is there, so rest assured, the old man will be fine.” It’s just you who are at risk.

“Mm, contact the airport and have Kennan bring Teddy back.” Since his surgery was successful and the old man refused to leave, Teddy’s departure no longer held much significance.

“Young Master Roberts and Miss Abigail have already gone to the airport,” Pullan quickly replied.

Only then did Brandon remember. As soon as he woke up, before he had time to recover, Pullan mentioned Abigail inquiring about Teddy’s whereabouts, and he reflexively named the airport. The little fatty had already chased after them.

Thinking of the little fatty performing surgery on him in the lab, Brandon unwittingly curled his lips. He had initially thought he was doomed.

Unexpectedly, the little fatty really managed to succeed.

It seemed he had misunderstood her before. But how could that girl be so skilled?

Brandon was a bit puzzled.

But he had no time to ponder those questions now. “Has Dr. Foster been found?”

“We’ve already sent someone to find him. Don’t worry, Dr. Foster is a nationally renowned cardiac surgeon. If there’s any unexpected trouble, they won’t operate rashly. You should rest and recover,” urged Pullan, who now only hoped the Second Master could peacefully and happily spend his remaining time.

Brandon looked up at Pullan’s rugged face etched with sadness, making him feel goosebumps. “Release a statement to the media: I woke up, but the surgery failed. My days are numbered.”

Pullan reluctantly nodded, surprised the Second Master had learned so quickly.

He felt uncomfortable.

“Get out.” At the sight of Pullan’s gloomy face, Brandon became irritated. He wasn’t dead yet.

Pullan left the ward reluctantly.

Soon, the news reached Sincere that Brandon had awakened.

The old man was still in the conference room. He suddenly stood up, his hand gripping the cane trembling. “Awake…Awake?”

His voice noticeably quivered with excitement.

The visitor respectfully replied, “Yes.”

“Good, good, good!” The old man said three times in a row with joy. As long as Brandon woke up, there was still hope.

But as the old man rejoiced, the second branch of the Piers family, who had come to invite him to return to the capital, looked displeased. “Dad, now that Brandon is okay, you should go back and rest. This Gills City is no match for Swallow City…”

The old man merely glanced at his son before looking at Kelvin. “Take me to see Brandon.”

“Dad…”

Mason Piers’s face changed. He called out for his father, but the old man didn’t stop. When his men tried to intervene, they were blocked by Kelvin’s men. “Second Master, have some respect.”

Mason Piers’s face looked grim. He thought to himself, that little fox isn’t dead yet. He wondered how his third brother managed things. If only he had followed his advice, useless!
