Chapter 590: Reinforcement

"This voice… Sasuke!"

Naruto lowers his head and notices Sasuke's Susanoo grabbing the two truth-seeking spears with its arm. A faint layer of nature energy shrouds the body of Susanoo, preventing it from dispersing under the power of the truth-seeking orb.

"You knucklehead, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and escape!" Sasuke urges him.

The truth-seeking spears in his grasp tremble, attempting to free themselves.

"Yes!"

Naruto riles up his chakra and creates his chakra arms. Naruto's orange chakra arms grab the crimson chakra arms and forcefully pry them open.

HAAHH…

Naruto exerts all his strength and is finally able to exert enough strength to open a small gap and escape.

Whoosh…

Sasuke also releases his grip on the Truth-Seeking spear and escapes.

Bang…

The truth-seeking spear smashes into the ground and creates a massive explosion at the point of impact. The explosion creates a crater at the point of impact.

In the next second, both Tsunade and Jiraiya teleport away from Obito's grasp. Obito turns around and glances in another direction.

Tobirama teleports beside Hiruzen and Mito with Tsunade and Jiraiya.

Jiraiya pants and takes a deep breath.

"I thought I was going to die for a second!"

Tsunade raises her head and notices Tobirama and Mito.

"G-grandma… Granduncle!" Her lips tremble as she glances at the smile on Mito's face.

Mito smiles and stares at her with a compassionate gaze.

"You have grown into such a fine woman, Tsunade!" She praises her.

"It's not the time to get sentimental and celebrate your reunion. We have more pressing matters to handle." Tobirama interrupts them.

Whoosh…

"That was Dad's jutsu!"

Naruto and Sasuke also flicker beside them. They recognize the Hiruzen and Tobirama but have no clue of Mito's identity.

"She's your Great Grandma!" Kushina introduces Mito to Naruto.

"G-great Grandma!" Naruto stares at Mito in shock.

Mito also turns around and smiles at Naruto.

"So, you are Naruto. Little Kushina's son!"

"Umm… hi… Great-grandma!" Naruto scratches his head in embarrassment as he greets Mito.

"It has been a while, Mito!" Kurama's voice echoes in Mito's mind.

"Huh!" Naruto glances at Kurama in his mindscape with surprise.

"You know my Great Grandma!"

"Indeed, it has been a while!"

Suddenly, Mito appears in Naruto's mindscape.

Aah…

Naruto is frightened to see his great-grandma suddenly appear in his mindscape.

Haha…

Mito chuckles and glances at the current Kurama.

"Hmm… you seem to have matured a lot in all these years." She remarks.

"No, it's just that this brat's foolishness rubbed on me." Kurama shakes his head with a smile.

"Uh… You two know each other." Naruto points towards them with trembling fingers.

Hehe…

Mito chuckles, refusing to elaborate.

"Of course, she knew me. Since she is my first Jinchuriki." Kurama rolls his eyes at Naruto.

Despite claiming to be close to him, Naruto has the least knowledge of his history.

"Haha… that was past!" Mito laughs at their antiques.

Outside on the battlefield,

GAH… Ugh…

Obito groans in pain. His snake-like body stretches even further. Numerous scales spread across his entire body. His lower body turns into an elongated tail, stretching tens of meters.

"He's just like a snake!" Sasuke comments after witnessing Obito.

GAH… ARGH…

Obito's body rapidly expands like a balloon. Massive chunks of flesh cover his head and lower body. Squirming flesh replaces the scales and Obito slowly loses any resemblance to a human figure. He turns into a massive spherical meatball.

"What is that?" Naruto snaps out of his mindscape and glances at Obito's transformation.

"We have to take him down while he's still unable to use his body well." Tobirama flips a kunai in his hands.

Eugh… Augh…

Obito moans in pain, but his body maintains his instincts. He points his massive, distorted hand toward the group and charges another Truth-seeking orb towards them.

"Be careful! He is preparing another attack." Naruto warns them.

Shiing…

"Tsukiyomi!"

Itachi casts his Mangekyo Genjutsu on the Obito. Blood leaks from his eye.

"Itachi!" Sasuke glances at Itachi with worry.

Due to Itachi's interruption, Obito loses his sense of direction and points his hand slightly downward.

BOOM…

A massive explosion erupts at Obito's position. The radius of the explosion covers his entire body.

Whoosh… whoosh…

The group flickers away to escape the range of the explosion. Tremors spread across the ground. Dust and debris rapidly fly everywhere.

Swish… swish…

Tsunade makes a series of hand signs and slams her palm on the ground, creating a wooden protective dome.

"It's really the wood release!"

Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Mito are surprised to see Tsunade use the wood release.

"How did you do it?" Mito asks in surprise.

"Wood release is said to be a very rare Kekkei Genkai of the Senju clan. Even then, in the past hundred years, only Hashirama awakened this Kekkei Genkai. None of the generation after him awakened this extraordinary power."

"I… I just awakened my bloodline!" Tsunade could only explain it in simpler terms since even she had no idea how all of this happened.

No, she has some idea that it happened because of Dan's technique. But she is still not sure what it really is.

"Besides, I am not the only one who can use the Wood release. Even Izuna can use it!" Tsunade puffs her cheeks in front of her grandma, earning a chuckle from her.

"Izuna?!" Mito tilts her head in confusion.

"He is my most outstanding disciple. Though I didn't teach him much." Tsunade turns sad.

"His case is special." Tobirama opens his mouth.

"You met him!" Mito turns to Tobirama in surprise.

"Mm… during my previous Edo reincarnation." Tobirama nods.

"Unlike Tsunade, his wood release is acquired one not bloodline related." He adds.

"I see! So, there is such a talented shinobi in this generation." Mito remarks in surprise.

"Mm… He is far, far stronger than elder brother!" Tobirama's words surprise Mito.

"Stronger than Hashirama!" Her eyes widen in surprise.

"If he was here, then this battle would be pointless. He could have ended it all within seconds." Tobirama answers based on his previous judgment of Izuna.

"So strong!"

"Unfortunately, I can't sense his chakra!" He shakes his head.

"Nii-san went missing a few years ago!" Naruto shakes his head with sorrow.

Tsunade introduces Mei to others.

"So, you're the wife of such an outstanding person. You are no less outstanding than him. Being the Kage of a nation is no less of an achievement." Mito praises Mei. Both of them can share similar sentiments about being the wives of an outstanding person.

The explosion slowly dies down. Tsunade lowers the defense to survey the situation.

The cloud of dust and debris settles down to reveal the half-blown body of Obito. The previous explosion detonated on top of him, due to which he blew himself.

"He blew himself up!" Naruto remarks after witnessing Obito's pathetic condition.

"I was able to redirect his attack with my genjutsu. However, his consciousness was already struggling within his own mind." Itachi elaborates.

"I was flooded by all sorts of chaotic and messy thoughts and consciousness."

"His consciousness is merely clinging to Ten Tail's power. At this rate, sooner or later, his personality will be devoured by Ten Tail and it will resurface."

"We have to act before that happens!" Tobirama remarks.

"Saru and I will create an opening with our immortal bodies. Mito Nee-san, prepare a powerful sealing jutsu."

Tobirama marks everyone present with his Flying Thunder God Seal. He wields a kunai and rushes towards Obito.

"Got it!" Mito makes a series of rapid hand signs. With her as the center, a massive Fuinjutsu formation slowly covers the ground. The sealing formation expands rapidly as Mito infuses her chakra in it and continues to make more and more hand signs.

Hiruzen makes a ram hand seal and summons a massive Fuma Shuriken. He hurls it towards Obito and makes more hand signs.

"Shadow shuriken jutsu,"

The Fuma shuriken multiples into several shuriken. Tobirama also makes a hand seal and creates several shadow clones.

"Shadow clones!" Naruto speaks in surprise.

Each shadow clone wields a kunai and throws it towards Obito from all directions.

GAH…

Obito's body acts on the instincts and targets the larger, more threatening target of the Fuma shurikens. The Truth-seeking orb around him morphs into a blade and slices through all Fuma shurikens in an instant.

Whoosh…

The moment Tobirama's kunai contacts Obito's body, he teleports all his clones to him.

"Now!"
