Chapter 108 Vanguard Mission [3]
Chapter 108 Vanguard Mission [3]
"Holy sh*t, that was badass from captain". Amak said in awe.
The others in the Audun protector unit did not reply him as they looked at their captain who at this moment seemed so different to them, the authority exerted by Aegon just a moment ago was something they were not used to.
They wondered if this was the same captain that they knew.
"The rules are simple, it's a fully hand to hand combat contest, no killing, just try your best to force your opponent into submission".
Both Grade D Pugilists listened as they glared at each other.
"Start!"
Once they heard the word that they were anticipating, without a moment of hesitation, they exploded with speed towards each other.
Boom!
Their speed broke the sound barrier as the sound of their fists rapidly punching towards each other reverberated, they collided in a tight affair.
With their perfect hand to hand combat technique, their punch packed a lot of power and venom with it as soon as both fists collided.
With a loud sound, the recoil pushed both of them back.
Their Pugilist energy flared as even without completely recovering their balance, they exploded with speed towards each other again.
Their Pugilist energy exploded as a frenzied melee battle began.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Since they were both pure Pugilists, only their fists did the talking and they were evenly matched as they started inflicting injuries to each other.
If Drog broke Knock's nose, Knock broke his teeth. If Knock broke one of his ribs, Drog broke 2 of his opponent's ribs in this tight and exciting battle.
All the spectating warriors were entertained as they cheered loudly.
Most of them didn't support any side, they just enjoyed the excitement.
In this short battle, the incredible pros of the Berserk Ape and Wan Dragon bloodlines were showcased. Both bloodlines gave incredible benefits in terms of strength and endurance, increasing it to ridiculous levels.
Despite this, both had distinct differences.
The Berserk Ape bloodline gave more emphasis to strength boost while the Wan Dragon bloodline gave more emphasis to endurance and defense.
Both warriors fought until they could not fight again, their mouths did the remaining of the fighting as their bodies became too washed too move.
"I'll kill you bastard!"
"You too moron!"
"Imbecile!"
"Airhead!"
"…" Knock was stunned by this as he completely lost it. "You dare?! You dare call me airhead?!"
Aegon tried to look at this scene with a neutral expression on his face but he could not, his eyes twitched furiously. 'Knock's still so riled up when he's called airhead yet his mouth never ceases to curse others, sigh'.
The next moment, he stood forward. "The match ended in a draw which means that none of your claims of being the best stands".
"I'm the best candidate to be the commander…!"
Aegon glared at Drog, silencing him. "Since both of you are too useless to win, I know exactly what to do, let the champions of your tribes come out".
"…" All the warriors present were stunned.
Across every generation of the Drago Celeste and Kong tribe, there is a born warrior who fully inherits the bloodline of the first ancestors of their tribes.
The champions of the last generations were Kohama of the Kong tribe and Draconion of the Drago Celeste tribe, the champions of this generation were Knock's younger brother, Kamnak, and the orphan, Din.
On this suggestion, Drog was overjoyed. "Yes, I concur".
During the past 3 times that they dwelled, the gloomy and silent 18-year-old Din always won against the 22-year-old Kamnak.
Surprisingly, Knock agreed without a fuss. "I concur".
Once both youngsters stood beside each other with their red and black hair contrasting each other, Aegon gave the go ahead. "Begin!"
Boom!
Unlike the previous 2, both were still Grade E Pugilists but they were extremely strong for their grade. They clashed like a clash between 2 mammoths.
This battle was just like a repeat of the previous battle, just with lesser intensity and also, Din had a bit of an advantage over his opponent.
Din despite being an orphan learned to hone his instincts and battle sense to an extremely high level. Seemingly like he was anticipating his opponents moves, he reacted ahead of him, comboing him multiple times.
The humiliation got strong amid the cheers from the other warriors until Kamnak could no longer take it. "Berserk Ape: Release!"
As soon as Kamnak yelled, his body seemed to turn briefly intangible.
Then from his body jumped out an intangible ape that was as tall as him. As soon as the ape came out, Kamnak turned tangible again and the ape came to life.
All the spectating warriors were shocked. "He already learned the release".
Din's eyes widened as he was also shocked but his opponent showed no mercy. Kamnak pounced on him with his Berserk Ape in tow.
Din stood his ground, trying to stay brave but being brave did not mean much before absolute strength. The ape's powerful arms slammed him to the ground.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
3 slams with its powerful arms and Din was a bloody lamb.
Kamnak stopped the Berserk Ape before grabbing his opponent by the neck, he pulled him out of the depression on the ground and glared at him.
"Yield".
"Never!"
Bam!
Kamnak was ruthless as he punched him on the face multiple times before demanding again. "Yield".
Din spit on his opponent's face as all the cheers calmed down. "Never".
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Aegon watched with an indifferent look on his face as Kamnak pummeled Din into a bloody mess. Drog watched his tribesmen get pummeled on his behalf but he could do nothing, to the desert tribes, rules were rules.
The rules were for the battle to end only when one side submits.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Kamnak pummeled Din until the valiant 18-year-old fainted in a pool of his own blood. By now, the hideout was as quiet as a graveyard.
"Take him". Aegon finally spoke indifferently.
"Let a proficient Water Elementalist work on healing him".
"With this victory, we now have the unified commander of our squad".
"The unified commander of the Vanguard Squad is Knock".
"Commander Knock!" All the warriors acknowledged him.
Drog clenched his fists till they bled.
