Kisa looked back at Shaun and coldly asked, “What kind of trick are you playing this time?”
“Hehe. I wouldn’t dare to play tricks on the CEO’s wife. I just want to bring you to meet someone, Mrs. Kooper.”
Shaun led Kisa to a building that she was a little unfamiliar with. She did not remember if she had been here before. The building in front of her was very tall. Kisa covered her eyes from the sun with her hands and looked up to see the word “Risen“. ‘Could this be the Risen Enterprise that was mentioned in the contract?‘ Kisa thought as Shaun walked into the building. Kisa frowned suspiciously and strode up to follow him. It was as if Shaun came here often since the security guard did not stop him at the entrance. He walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the 15th floor. Kisa stared at him and uttered, “Are you and Risen Enterprise…”
“You would understand everything after meeting her, Mrs. Kooper,” Shaun laughed like he was hiding something. Kisa did not press further. The elevator quickly came to the 15th floor. After getting out of the elevator, Shaun took her directly to the CEO’s office past the workstations. Shaun knocked on the door, and soon a familiar voice sounded from the office. “Come in!”
Kisa frowned fiercely. ‘That sounds like Mia.‘
Sure enough, as the door opened, she saw Mia leaning on the chair, holding a pen in her hand, and talking on the phone. Kisa was slightly startled. ‘Did Mia founded Risen Enterprise?‘
“Sit, Mrs. Kooper,” Shaun said as he poured her a cup of coffee. She sat on the sofa with the coffee in her hand and looked around the office. It was a large office with gray accents and carpet flooring. Kisa’s gaze then fell upon the coffee table in front of her. There was an ashtray with several cigarette butts in it.
Kisa withdrew her gaze as her heart was full of questions. ‘Mia doesn’t seem like someone who likes to do business. Why did she establish Risen Enterprise? Did she do this to take revenge on Gilbert and GK Pictures?‘ From her point of view, Shaun was working undercover for Mia. ‘No wonder he left the company angrily that day but begged me to let him return to the company two days later. It was all a set–up.‘
When Kisa was thinking about it, Mia suddenly walked over and sat opposite her. She was holding a cigarette between her slender fingers. ‘What about the cigarette butts in the ashtray? Were they left by the person who came in to talk to her about
work?‘ Kisa did not question it further. Instead, she looked at Mia and said with a forced smile, “Long time no see.”
Kisa did not owe Mia anything, but because of what happened with Jensen, she felt guilty. She knew that Jensen would not be in the condition he was at that time if it was not for her, and Mia would not have suffered because of it.
Mia took a short breath and chuckled, “Yeah, long time no see. You look like you’re living a good life now. Your complexion looks so much better than before.” There was a hint of mockery in her tone.
Kisa pursed her lips, not knowing what to say. Mia still had red lips and big curly hair, with a bit of fierceness in her. She leaned back, smiled at Kisa casually, and asked, Don’t you… have anything you want to ask?”
“How is… Jensen?” Kisa was silent for a long time before asking that question.
“I thought you forgot about him,” Mia sneered, but Kisa did not say anything. She knew that both Mia and Shaun were upset that she did not avenge Jensen.
