Chapter 1363 We Will Eventually Come to This

The maid bowed her head slightly and said respectfully, “After Miss Mullen had a fight with you yesterday, she was afraid that you’d be angry and unwilling to see her, so she asked me to make sure you go over.”

Kisa nodded. “I’ll go with you now.” On the way downstairs, Kisa asked the maid casually, “How’d you know I was with Mr. Tanner?”

“Mr. Kooper told me,” the maid replied.

Kisa’s heart skipped a beat. ‘How did Gilbert know I was in Adrien’s room? Had he overheard the conversation I had just had with Adrien?’ she thought to herself, feeling a chill running up her spine. She felt helpless and had mixed emotions. ‘Screw it. We will eventually come to this. When I’m done with Adrien, I will explain to him,’ she said in her mind.

Little did she know, however, that when the truth surfaced later, she would realize that she was the one who owed Gilbert the most in this world. At that time, all her explanations and confessions would be meaningless.

In the room, Adrien puffed on his cigarette, his actions slow. He frowned as he stared at the door, deep in thought.

When Kisa arrived at the garden outside Vivian’s room, Kelvin was treating her leg with a needle technique. Vivian looked indifferent and said nothing when she saw Kisa. Not wanting to disturb them, Kisa sat quietly on the side. Not long after, the maid came to serve her tea.

Kisa looked at the tea for a long time but did not drink it.

Seeing that, the maid urged her with a smile. “Mrs. Kooper, this tea is freshly brewed. It tastes better when it’s hot.”

Kisa nodded and smiled back at her. “I know. You can get back to work,” she said, and then held the cup of tea to warm her hands.

When the maid saw Kisa was about to drink, she turned around and left.

Kisa watched the maid leave and narrowed her eyes, feeling uneasy. With the maid so eager for me to drink the tea, there must be something wrong with it. But Vivian’s expression is as natural as it always is, and she doesn’t seem to care if I drink the tea. I think someone else must have bribed the maid. After all, Vivian is still relying on Kelvin to treat her leg, so there’s no reason for her to harm me. Could it be Adrien who bribed that maid?’

Pushing the thought from her mind, she got up and quietly walked toward the table. Although Kelvin always acted like a cheeky jokester, he was dead serious when it came to his work.

While no one was looking, Kisa quickly switched her teacup with Kelvin’s and quickly sat back down. Since Kelvin’s teacup was half empty, she did not have to pretend anymore.

The maid came out again and brought her some nuts and snacks. As she put the snacks on the table, she glanced at Kisa’s teacup. Kisa noticed that, but she kept quiet, took some walnuts, and ate them.

There were a lot of flowers in the garden, and the chrysanthemums were in full bloom. Kisa propped one elbow on the table, the other hand fiddling with the flowers in the pots. She was a bit bored.

After a long while, Kelvin finally finished his work and came over with his cup of tea. “Phew, it’s finally done. I’ll be able to start systemic treatment for Vivian in another three days.”

He sat down across from her and downed the cup of tea in one go.
