Chapter 1389 Meeting Sara Again

Kisa was stiff as a board, her heart skipping a beat. With a determined gleam in her eye, she continued to pound away at the door. “Let me out of here! Come on, open the door already!”

“Save your breath. You’re not getting out of here.”

A voice echoed from behind her, one that was hauntingly familiar. It was a woman’s voice, sounding just like Sara. Kisa’s heart skipped a beat, and she cautiously turned around to see who it was.

As she faced the screen, she saw the outline of a slender figure. Kisa’s back was pressed tightly against the door, and her eyes were fixed on the shadow, trying to act as if she had gone crazy, faking a scare. Ghost You’re terrifying! Don’t come any closer!”

The shadow twitched, and then a woman slowly emerged from behind the screen. Kisa’s heart was pounding like a drum, but she still managed to keep up the charade, pretending to be scared out of her mind. But as the woman stepped into view, Kisa realized it was Sara.

Kisa remembered Sara as a woman who was sweet and innocent on the outside but devious and cunning

on the inside. But now, six years had passed, and the woman in front of her looked even more innocent, making Kisa feel like she was seeing a completely different person. The woman was charming and beautiful. No wonder why all the men were drawn to her. The only thing that was strange was how she ended up in Mr. Mullen Sr.’s place.

Kisa wondered what could have possibly happened six years ago.

‘Is she hiding here by choice, or is she being threatened by someone?’

No matter how much of a storm was brewing inside her, Kisa’s face remained calm and composed. She gawked at the woman in front of her, stuttering, “Ghost… you… you stay back!” And with that, she started beating the door like crazy. “Let me out of here… I’m scared! I’m scared!”

“Chill, babe,” Sara cooed with a voice as warm as a summer breeze. But for some reason, Kisa could not shake off the eerie feeling. Sara sauntered over to her, her pale face looking like she had just stepped out of a horror movie.

With her white dress, candle in one hand, and a pendant in the other, she looked like a ghost straight out of a Halloween costume. “Come on, step right up. I promise I won’t bite.” Sara’s voice sounded as gentle as an angel’s.

Kisa was curious about what Sara was up to, so she spun around with a fake look of terror. And just then, a pendant appeared out of thin air, hanging in front of her. Shaped weirdly and the exact same one that Sara had been holding, the pendant swayed back and forth in front of her.

Kisa was taken aback. ‘Is this woman trying to hypnotize me? But wait, I haven’t had that tea for a while now, so the hypnosis probably won’t work on me, will it? But if it doesn’t work, that means I’ll have to play along. Otherwise, I’ll have no way to figure out what this mystery woman is up to.’

Kisa’s gaze followed the pendulum swaying back and forth. As she watched it, her mind remained alert and clear. It looked like the drug did not work, and the hypnosis attempt was a total flop, so Kisa let out a sigh of relief.

She had heard that people under hypnosis had glassy stares and unresponsive eyes, so Kisa decided to play along and slow down the movement of her eyes. And just like that, her eyes became still, and she feigned a trance.

Sara chuckled. “Follow me.” Kisa obediently followed her behind a screen to a soft couch. “Lie down!” Sara said.

Kisa did as she was told, but her heart was racing with caution. The pendulum still swayed in front of her as Sara began to recite a mantra-like phrase in her ear.
