Kisa was startled and began to feel curious. Strange… How can there be light?’

The tiny spot of light was not very bright. Kisa stared at it for a long time, only to realize that it was coming through the cracks of the ruins. The rubble from the collapse had formed a wall. Kisa needed to find out whether someone was there or if someone had dropped their phone. The faint light looked like a flashlight from a mobile.

Kisa touched her way around but still could not find a way out. “Hello? Is anyone there?” she shouted, but no one answered.

‘Someone must have dropped a phone on the other side,’ she thought. ‘This will be much easier if only I can grab it.”

Kisa put her hands on the wall and continued walking along it, but she still could not find an exit. Suddenly, she heard a vague sound of people talking. The voices sounded familiar.

‘That sounds like Anthony and Mr. Mullen Sr.’

“Actually, I don’t hate you, Anthony. On the contrary, son, you’re the most important child to me. I only wanted to train you so that you could become stronger. That’s why I’m always so strict and harsh on you. Can you please forgive me?”

“We’ll talk about this later, dad. Let’s get out of here first.”

Anthony was walking toward another exit with Mr. Mullen Sr. on his back. Suddenly, he heard the cry for help and could not help but stop in his tracks. Although Mr. Mullen Sr. had hit his head hard. on the stone and was covered in blood, he still recognized that the voice was Kisa’s.

He opened his eyes slightly, looked at Anthony, who looked tense, and smiled weakly, “Put me down and save her… After all, she… She’s your beloved’s best friend… She…”

“It’s okay. Someone else will come for her.” After that, Anthony carried Mr. Mullen Sr. on his back and walked into a narrow opening without looking back.

Kisa shouted for a long time, but no one answered. She weakly leaned against the ruins as she began to wonder why Anthony was there.

She let out a breath and leaned feebly against the wall. It was still pitch black, Kisa stared blankly into the darkness, and a wave of sadness formed in her heart. ‘Am I really going to die like this? Does anyone even know that I’m here? Will anybody come and rescue me?’

Kisa stroked her belly as she thought about what would happen to her. ‘Every time I want to protect you, I end up putting you in danger,’ she said to the baby in her belly.

‘I’m such an incompetent mother… I wonder what Gilbert is doing right now. Does he know that I’m down here? Would he come save me if he knew?”

Suddenly, Kisa saw Gilbert walking toward her, almost like a hallucination from missing him too much.
