Chapter 1403 How Can He Live Without You?

“Kisa… Where are you? Kisa…”

Kelvin kept calling her name and dug through the dirt and rubble with his bare hands. After a while, his hands were covered in blood. “You can’t die on us, Kisa. What will Gilbert do if you’re dead? How is he going to live without you? Kisa… Please be okay… Kisa…” His eyes were red with tears as he roared frantically into the ruins.

Adrien stood aside, smoking a cigarette and surveying at the damage thoughtfully. ‘Is that woman really dead? How will I keep up this game if she’s dead?’

He narrowed his eyes coldly, and he seemed irritated.

“You lot, go and look for them. Make sure you rescue Mr. Mullen Sr. and Mrs. Kooper,” Adrien ordered the bodyguards behind him.

He then walked toward Mrs. Mullen Sr. and said, “Are you alright, Mrs. Mullen Sr.?”

The old lady shook her head but covered her face and cried, “I’m fine, but my husband…”

“That was scary. How could the basement collapse like that?” Lydia said with lingering fear as she clutched her chest.

Gloria, on the other hand, said, “It must be that crazy woman’s fault. If she hadn’t pretended to be mad, we wouldn’t have gone down to the basement, let alone stay there for so long. It’s her fault we went through this.”

“Shut up!” Kelvin suddenly yelled coldly. His scarlet eyes looked terrifying. Gloria shrank back in fear and turned to Mrs. Mullen Sr. The old lady remembered how remorseful her husband looked when the

basement collapsed and began to understand something.

She shook her head, physically and mentally exhausted, and said, “That basement was huge and had not been renovated for a long time. The walls were no longer strong enough to hold themselves up. The collapse was an accident. No one is to blame.” novelbin

Gloria wanted to continue her argument, but suddenly, a figure came out of the ruins in the distance. Everyone was shocked to see that the figure was carrying another person on their back. It was not until they came closer that they realized it was Anthony with Mr. Mullen Sr. on his back.

Jane was the first one to recognize her son. She ran over quickly and said, “Anthony… H-How did you get out of there? And… W-What’s wrong with your father?”

Anthony did not reply. His face was ashen and mournful. Mr. Mullen Sr. had passed on his back when they were trying to escape. He put the old man down and sat beside him for a long time until dawn care. That was when he started carrying him out of the basement.

Mrs. Mullen Sr.’s heart sank when she saw Anthony’s face. She staggered over and grabbed his arm while anxiously asking, “How is your father? Is he…”

“Dead,” Anthony said expressionlessly.

Everyone was shocked once again. Albert hurried over and helped Mr. Mullen Sr. off Anthony’s back. Indeed, he was not breathing, and his body was cold.

Mrs. Mullen Sr. could not bear the idea of it and fainted immediately.

Leon and Isaac asked, “How did dad die? Did you… Did you do something to him?!”

Anthony stayed quiet and just stared at the old man’s lifeless body.

Suddenly, Kelvin rushed over and shook Anthony as he asked, “Where did you find him? Did you see Kisa in there? Did you see her?”

Anthony turned over mechanically, looked at Kelvin, and said, “I did.”
