Kisa's face went ghost-white, and she instinctively grabbed Madalyn, trying to escape the building.

But Madalyn was paralyzed with fear, unable to move.She screamed at Kisa through tears, "Run, just save yourself!"

BOOM! The detonations roared, sending a massive shockwave rippling through the air.

In the midst of the chaos, Kisa felt someone shield her and Madalyn from the blast.

As Kisa drifted into unconsciousness, she caught a fleeting glimpse of their savior—it was David.

‘Madalyn...What happened to her?"

Kisa jolted awake, wincing as pain shot through her arm.

Surveying her surroundings, she found herself in an unfamiliar place.

‘Where am I?' she wondered.

The room was immaculate, and a fresh flower on the table added a touch of elegance.

Through the window, she saw a courtyard, the stark beauty of the winter landscape bathed in sunlight.

‘But where am I? What happened to Gilbert, Madalyn, and David?' As if in answer to her thoughts, the door swung open.

A young girl entered, carrying a porcelain basin.

Kisa's brow furrowed.

"Jolina?"

Jolina's face brightened.

'"Kisa, you're awake!" Kisa was baffled.

‘Didn't I pass out in a warehouse? Wasn't there an explosion? How did I end up with Jolina?' Jolina rushed to her side, wringing a warm towel from the basin and handing it to Kisa.

"Wash up, and I'll bring you some chicken noodle soup."

With that, she dashed out of the room.

Kisa gazed out the window at the chickens in the courtyard and the distant fields and ponds.

'Is this the countryside? Jolina's hometown?' Jolina reappeared with a steaming bowl of chicken noodle soup.

"Kisa, eat something.You just woke up."

Kisa's eyes filled with worry.

"How did I get here? Where's Gilbert?"

Jolina shook her head.

"Peter brought you here.He said you were badly hurt and needed time to heal, especially since you're pregnant.You need to rest."

Kisa instinctively touched her belly.

Jolina quickly reassured her.

"Don't worry, the town doctor checked you out.Your baby's fine; you just had some pregnancy discomfort."Kisa breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "Where's Peter?"

Jolina's lips pressed together.

"Outside."

Peter looked haggard and withdrawn, barely speaking a word since he entered the room.

After a long silence, he finally spoke.

"My brother told me the warehouse's location.By the time I arrived, it was in ruins.You and Mrs.Kooper Sr.were buried under the rubble, shielded by David."

Kisa's heart tightened.

"What about the others?"

"Kelvin took Madalyn and Gilbert.As for David..."

Peter clenched his fists, his voice strained, "Jensen took him."
