Kisa's lips pressed together as she sat down beside David.

He held the photo album and his mother's diary tenderly in his arms, then said, "Regardless of what others may say about your mother, she was the most incredible woman this world has ever known."

Hearing him praise her mother so passionately, Kisa's heart swelled with gratitude.

In truth, neither of them had ever truly let the other down; it was a series of misunderstandings and unfortunate events that had kept them apart.

A lifetime of missed connections. He shared his memories of Emilia, reminiscing about their idyllic days in the countryside awaiting the birth of their child.

When Peter was born, he embodied their love and hope for the future.

But, to support Emilia's acting career, David had reluctantly left Peter in the care of a friend.

His plan had been to marry Emilia and reunite their family once everything was settled.

But fate had other plans, and a series of heartbreaking events unfolded.

He was forcibly expelled from Calthon, followed by the scandalous rumors of Emilia's affair with Christopher.

Believing Emilia had betrayed him, he left with Peter, his heart filled with bitterness, causing them to lose each other forever.

Kisa listened intently to his poignant recollections, her heart aching with sadness and regret.

'If only he had confronted my mom directly, or even brought her away without a second thought, their love story might have had a different ending"

The frantic sounds of servants searching for him echoed from the courtyard below.

Kisa whispered, "The past is gone now.You and my mother shared a profound love, and neither of you ever truly failed the other. If she were still alive, I'm certain she wouldn't hold a grudge against you."

He nodded in agreement.

"Yes, she was so extraordinary. How could she ever hold a grudge against me?"

The wind intensified, mingling with the desperate shouts of the servants.

Kisa urged, "We should head down."

David shook his head.

"I would like to stay here a bit longer.Could you fetch me a glass of water? I'm parched."

"Of course."

As Kisa went downstairs to get water for David, she encountered a servant.

She halted them, instructing, "Tell Jensen to stop the search. He is on the rooftop."

Upon her return to the rooftop, she found the wheelchair ominously empty.

Panic gripped her heart as she scanned the area, spotting a figure standing precariously at the edge of the roof.

"No!" she screamed, racing toward him.

But it was too late.

She watched in horror as David plummeted like a fallen leaf, landing directly in front of Jensen below.

He mechanically raised his eyes toward her, a desolate and mournful look in his gaze.

David was gone, his life ended in a resolute and final act.

Yet, it seemed as though he had found a sense of release in his last moments.

A faint smile graced his lips as he passed.

The diary and photo album were left behind on the wheelchair, a note tucked beneath them, written for Kisa.

(After I'm gone, please lay me to rest beside your mother.)

Upon reading the note, she wept, her heart weighed down by an indescribable sorrow.

Even though David had made many mistakes, she found herself unable to hate him.

On the day of the funeral, rain fell relentlessly, casting a somber shadow over the entire cemetery.

Jensen, however, chose not to bury David beside Emilia.

He claimed it was David's punishment.

‘It doesn't matter. What purpose does it serve to bury two people together in death if they couldn't be together in life?"

David's passing remained a secret, with only Kisa and Jensen in attendance at the funeral.

Jensen stood stoically before the gravestone, not shedding a tear or uttering a word, his tall, slender silhouette exuding a profound sadness.

Peter arrived at the gravesite as dusk fell, still nursing injuries that caused him to limp with every step.He approached David's grave and stared at the photograph affixed to the headstone—a face entirely foreign to him.
