"Take me to the Burton residence!"

Mia demanded emotionlessly.

Hayes clenched his fists, and after a long pause, he finally sighed.

"Turn around, head to the Burton residence."

Within the grounds of the Burton residence, Jensen stood with one foot on Kendall's lifeless body, his cold gaze fixed on the surrounding Burton family guards.

All the men who had come with him had been sacrificed, leaving him alone.

Jensen was injured in several places, covered in blood, but luckily none of the wounds were fatal.He had found the woman Hayes had sent, but she was not Mia.

While angered, Jensen was also secretly relieved.

"If Hayes wanted us to eliminate Kendall, he could have directly ordered us.But he deliberately used Mia to make me fight harder and face death"

Jensen had a fairly good idea of the various reasons behind it all.

‘Am I going to die like this too?’ The surrounding guards, knives in hand, slowly closed in.

Jensen tightened his grip on his weapon, his entire body tensed, ready for battle.

Suddenly, two guards charged at him, slashing their blades.

Jensen swiftly countered one of the attackers with a twist of his knife but was stabbed in the shoulder by another.

The Burton family guards were numerous, and Jensen found himself surrounded.

As they all advanced on him, a car suddenly burst onto the scene.

The car sped straight toward the guards, who scattered in all directions.

It came to a halt beside Jensen.

Mia urgently called out to him, "Get in the car!"

Jensen, too surprised to react, quickly opened the door and jumped in.

But just as the car was turning around to make its escape, another vehicle came barreling toward them, crashing into their car head-on.

Their vehicle spun around in place before stalling.

The driver hurriedly tried to restart it, but it was too late, as the other car rammed into them again, this time hitting the side.

Their car rolled over, the shattered glass from the windows scattering on the ground.

The surrounding guards closed in on them.

Mia's face turned pale.

"What do we do?"

Hayes responded coldly.

"We have no choice but to fight."

Jensen glanced at Hayes, feeling a mix of emotions.

‘It seems Hayes really does love Mia deeply, or else he wouldn't have come back to face death with her"

Mia and Jensen quickly exited the car.

Back-to-back, they stood defiantly against the surrounding guards.

They had only exchanged a few blows with the guards when the attacking car drove at them once more, heading straight for the two of them.

The car sped up so fast it did not even spare its own men, running over a guard before barreling toward them.

Mia did not have time to dodge; her mind went blank for a moment before she suddenly felt a powerful force pushing her away.

Not only her, but Jensen was pushed away as well.

There was a pained grunt, and Mia felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach, her entire body tensing as she looked over.
