Chapter 1334 Dreams Don’t Come to Life

Kelvin immediately shed his frivolous manner, his expression turning grave. “What to do then? Any possible suspects? Since we’re all staying in the Mullen residence, how come Gilbert’s okay?”

Kisa shook her head. “I’m just guessing. Let’s observe for a few days and see how things go.”

Kelvin nodded. “So do you want to visit Miss Mullen at the Mullen residence today?”

“I’m not going.” Kisa took a mouthful of spaghetti and mumbled, “I’ll stay at Felicity’s place for a few days. If there are no more nightmares in the next few days, then someone at the Mullen residence must have tampered with my food or the things around me. First I’ll determine whether that’s the case, and if it is, then I’ll go to the Mullen residence to find out who that person is. In the meantime, please keep an eye on the Mullen family and Adrien these few days.”

“Ahh! Speaking of Mr. Tanner reminds me of something.”

Kisa was startled. “What’s up?”

“Didn’t you ask me to observe Mr. Tanner to see if he had undergone plastic surgery?”

Kisa sat up straight at once. “So, what did you find?”

Kelvin frowned. “I don’t think he has undergone plastic surgery. I couldn’t see any trace of plastic surgery on his face.”

Kisa was disappointed. ‘If Adrien didn’t undergo plastic surgery, then my initial assumption that he was David wouldn’t hold water. In that case, wouldn’t the lead to David be lost again?’ She propped herself up on her elbows, feeling frustrated.

Gilbert slept through the afternoon. Kisa did not go upstairs for fear of waking him up, so she laid down on a wicker chair in the garden and read a book. When Gilbert woke up, he still looked tired and lethargic. Seeing him approaching, Kisa closed her book and smiled at him. But he said. nothing, just stared at her for a moment.

Seeing this, Kisa shook her head in amusement. “Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t you recognize me?” But he gave no response.

She got up and said, “You’re not fully awake. Let me make you something to eat, then you can go back to sleep a little more.”

As Kisa walked past him and headed into the house, Gilbert suddenly turned around and hugged her from behind. This action startled her. “What’s wrong?” she asked.

He buried his head in the nape of her neck and mumbled, “I just had a bad dream.”

Kisa was amused. “Did I pass on the nightmares to you?”

Gilbert was silent for a long while before he spoke again in a low and depressed voice with his head still in the nape of her neck. “I dreamed you left me. No matter how hard I tried, you wouldn’t turn back. You left for another man and helped others against me. You didn’t even want our children.”

Kisa was transfixed, wondering if he had been thinking too much before going to bed and got this

bad dream. She tried to break free from him but failed. He seemed to still be immersed in his nightmare, with his powerful arms firmly wrapped around her. Kisa sighed helplessly and looked up at the sky. “Can you stop imagining things? Even if I did leave you, I wouldn’t abandon my own children, okay? You were just having a bad dream.”

But Gilbert tightened his arms around her even more. “Don’t leave me,” he growled, his voice filled with suppressed emotions.

Kisa rolled her eyes. “Come on. Who said I was leaving you? Besides, it was just a dream. Dreams don’t come to life.”

“Dreams don’t come to life?”
