Chapter 1336 I’ll Bring You Back

Kisa’s heart sank for no reason. “Okay, tell me where to meet up.”

Lea asked to meet her in an ordinary cafe on a boulevard. Gilbert drove her there and parked the car near the cafe.

“I don’t know how long I’m going to talk to Lea. If you get bored, you can go on back without me,” Kisa said, as she had planned to come by herself at first.

But Gilbert was worried about her. He felt that since Lea was Anthony’s woman, she posed a risk against Kisa. He had wanted to meet Lea with her, but Lea had said on the phone earlier that she wanted to see Kisa alone. At first, he had been reluctant to allow Kisa to come, but relented after Kisa persuaded him to agree.

With the window down, Gilbert looked toward the cafe on the side of the boulevard and could see where Lea was. He leaned back in his seat, took out a cigarette, and said to Kisa, “It’s okay. I’ll wait here.” Kisa looked at him and said nothing, then got out of the car. As she walked around the front of the car, Gilbert suddenly said to her, “Call me if anything happens. If anything happens to my child, I’ll hold you responsible.”

Kisa looked at him with displeasure and ignored him. ‘He only cares about his child! It’s fine, the baby is mine after all.’ She felt much better with this thought in mind.

After Kisa had gone, Gilbert lit a cigarette. Until now, he had never taken his eyes off her. ‘It’s been more than a month since she got pregnant. She’s eating so much every day, yet she hasn’t gained any weight. I’ve got to let her eat more nutritious food.’

There were only a few people in the cafe. Upon entering, Kisa looked around and immediately spotted Lea sitting on the inner side of the cafe by the wall in a quiet corner where the lights were dim. Kisa’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Lea’s pale face, which was worse than it had been in the hospital that day. Lea was staring blankly at a certain spot, her cheerless face revealing a sense of hopelessness. Kisa hurried over and sat across from her.

“Lea…” she called out.

Only then did Lea move her eyes to look at her expressionlessly and let out a feeble smile. “Oh, there you are.”

“Lea, have you not been resting well these days?” Kisa looked at her worriedly.

“No, I’m fine.” Lea shook her head.

Kisa saw that Lea seemed like a different person now. She reached out to hold Lea’s hand on the table. Lea’s hand was cold, and Kisa held it tighter, then whispered, “Do you want to go back to Calthon? I’ll bring you back.” Kisa was not sure if she was thinking too much; seeing Lea’s condition made her uncomfortable.

Lea’s eyes started to turn stony again, even a little hollow. “Calthon? I’m not going back. I’m fine here,” she murmured.

“You’re fine here?” Kisa thought Anthony had expressed his feelings to her. “If you like it here, that’s fine. In fact, Anthony still cares about you. He treats you-”

“Kisa!” Lea suddenly interrupted her before she could finish her sentence.

She was startled. “What’s wrong?”

Lea smiled at her, but there was no warmth in her smile. “Don’t you want to know what I’ve done

to betray you?”

Upon hearing that, Kisa looked at her quietly, feeling anxious.
