Chapter 1700 – Toad Skill

Chapter 1700 – Toad Skill

Chapter 1700 – Toad Skill

The way Rourou taught the cultivation method was very simple. She merely tapped Qin Yu’s forehead for a while before taking her finger off. She got rid of the Sun and Moon Sword Skill inheritance. This was the first time Qin Yu truly experienced the ‘Transfering Divinity’ Technique.

Numerous memories split open in his head. Words, pictures, and numerous blurry figures were moving and entered Qin Yu’s memories, becoming a part of him. It was as if he had been practising this for many years and it felt very familiar.

Unorthodox, this was what Rourou considered unorthodox. Qin Yu felt that it was intriguing. There were numerous separate strange paths yet they all formed a cultivation path. This was clearly a magnificent and mysterious peak cultivation method.

Though it had a lot of problems with its foundation, the person who created this cultivation was worthy of being called a great master.

An unknown amount of time passed. Sensing that he was beginning to absorb it, Qin Yu let out a long breath and slowly opened his eyes. He looked at Rourou, who was standing by the pool with her hands clasped together. Her face was still and she resembled a fairy. He asked quickly, “What is this cultivation method called?”

Rourou frowned and thought about it, “I forgot. But if you want, you can call it Toad Skill.”

Toad Skill…

It was as if Qin Yu had been struck with lightning and his eyes widened. He looked at Rourou in disbelief. He could not believe that she had given such a careless answer to him.

Blasphemy!

Utter blasphemy!

“Pfft…” Rourou sneered, “You can’t be thinking that a nonsensical skill like the Toad Skill is very good right? What a joke!

“If not for the time pressure and the fact that you have no way to stabilize, I would have a hundred better methods for you to use to cultivate.”

Qin Yu’s fury was extinguished with a bucket of cold water. He rubbed his face and chuckled bitterly, “If it’s the Toad Skill then Toad Skill it is. Since it's your method, whatever you say works.”

Rourou replied, “Practise it well. Though it's a Toad Skill, if you don’t want to die, you have to work hard. Besides that, you have already had a taste of the books Jiang Huan left behind. But let me tell you that what you learned was not even the hair on the surface.

“I’ll be going. Continue to cultivate while soaking inside.” She then took a step out and disappeared. Entering and leaving this Secret Sword Peak was extremely easy for Rourou.

This was the third time Rourou was reminding him about the books that Jiang Huan left behind. It seemed like he had to raise their importance.

Qin Yu silently scolded himself as he took a deep breath and suppressed his feelings. He looked expectant…he had learned the Toad Skill but he still did not know its effectiveness.

Closing his eyes, a picture appeared in his mind. Where Qin Yu sat in the pond, there were faint waves emerging around him.

On this day, the Opening Heavens Sword Sect once again attracted the attention of everyone on Swallow Mountain.

Numerous stars in the sky were shining brightly.

They were drawn together by an invisible force and concentrated at the Opening Heavens Sword Sect’s mountain gate. There were so many that they resembled a column.

On this night, in the various sword peaks, the sword elders could not sleep.

They were staring intently at the star columns and had a solemn look. Through their eyes, shock was apparent.

With the elders’ cultivation level and sight, they knew that the congregation of stars at the Opening Heavens Sword Sect was because of someone cultivating. But they could not understand what level and what method would create such an incredibly strange sight.

Was it Qin Yu or that mysterious guardian? But no matter who it was, it caused a heavy feeling to settle on the elders.

It was only when daylight came, when the stars started to fade, that the star columns slowly disappeared.

Secret Sword Peak.

Qin Yu opened his eyes and there was a flicker in them. He smiled.

Toad Skill…though Rourou butchered this name, its effects were astounding! The amount of world spiritual energy that he had got just from cultivating once was comparable to how much he got from cultivating for numerous days in the past.

Moreover, the world spiritual energy was extremely pure. When it entered his body, Qin Yu felt as if his connection to the world grew stronger.

This was not a wrong feeling of Qin Yu’s. It was the power of the stars. They were inherently the world’s purest source of energy. After absorbing it into his body, it would naturally strengthen his connection with the world.

This would help strengthen and perfect his small world.

It was just that when he was absorbing the world spiritual energy, there was a sudden change in its properties. It was cold but then it suddenly became hot.

Qin Yu was worried that something had gone wrong, hence he stopped. After the pleasant surprise, he examined his body and did not sense anything wrong.

He looked up thoughtfully at the silver moon above the sword peak that did not seem to disappear.

Though he did not see any strange appearance from the outside world, Qin Yu knew the principle behind the Toad Skill. It collected Sun Moon Essence and was a very powerful cultivation skill. Just now, when the properties of the world spiritual energy changed, it was most likely because of the change from night to day in the outside world.

Thinking about it, Qin Yu did not continue to cultivate as he stood up and walked out of the pond. With a thought, his clothes dried instantly. It was only then that he realized the Mountain Peak was full of monkeys. Their eyes were all opened and they looked sad and unhappy with him.

With the way the monkeys were staring at him, no matter how strong he was emotionally, he still felt his hair stand on end.

The good thing was that although they were unhappy with him, they saw that Qin Yu was more or less recovered and had a lot of energy. They did not dare to behave rashly and all ran away, disappearing from sight.

Qin Yu did not know if he saw wrongly, but he thought that their fur was even brighter than before.

Did they also tap on the cultivation?

Shaking his head to get rid of his thoughts, Qin Yu thought about it before gesturing with his hand.

A silent awkward moment passed!

Scratching his head, Qin Yu coughed, “Rourou, let me out.”

As soon as he finished speaking, his vision blurred and in the next moment, he found himself in a hall.

It was obvious that this place was newly built. The air still smelled of freshly chopped wood.

Rourou was leaning lazily on a couch as she looked at Qin Yu, “Not bad, the Toad Skill matches you well.”

Though he knew that she was probably praising him, Qin Yu’s mouth could not help but twitch.

He pretended not to hear as he walked to a window. A full blown construction effort was going on and buildings were being built.

After just a few days, the Opening Heavens Sword Sect no longer had any signs of ruin. Everywhere was filled with energy!

Outside the hall, there was a respectful voice, “Grand Elder, I am Iron Forest. May I enter?”

Rourou looked up and sat up, “Come in.”

The old swordsman rushed in. Like the Opening Heavens Sword Sect, his entire demeanor had changed. His face was flushed and filled with vigor. He was wearing a new long robe. He was like a totally different person.

Seeing Qin Yu, the old swordsman was shocked as he hurried to greet, “Greetings Sect Master, congratulations on your recovery.”

Despite his rush, he spoke extremely respectfully.

Qin Yu nodded, “Please rise. You came here to find…Grand Elder, so please go ahead.”

“Yes.” The old swordsman’s surname was Iron and his name was Forest. This time, he came to find Rourou to tell her that many sword cultivators had come to join the Opening Heavens Sword Sect.

Rourou yawned and waved her hand, “Your Sect Master is here – for these kind of things, you can ask him.”

The old swordsman did not dare to say anything back as he turned over pitifully.

Qin Yu thought about it, “Reject them first. Say that the sect is not ready to accept disciples for now.” It was obvious that all these cultivators outside were filled with sand. If they really accepted them, the Opening Heavens Sword Sect would become like a sieve and allow them all to permeate through.

The old swordsman respectfully agreed. His mouth moved as if he wanted to say something before he stopped himself and was about to take his leave.

Qin Yu said, “What do you want to say?”

The old swordsman was stunned as he blushed. He quickly waved his hand as if he got shocked.

Qin Yu raised his brows, “Think carefully. If you don’t want to say it now, don’t ever say it in the future.”

The old swordsman gritted his teeth before kneeling on the floor, “I have something to say. Our sect has very few disciples now. I am wondering if I can get some young sword cultivators from my hometown. They don’t have to join the sect, but maybe just to help out with some chores.”

He then rapidly kowtowed his head knocking on the floor, ‘bam bam bam’. “I know I have spoken out of place, please have mercy on me.”

Qin Yu thought about it, “Since our sect has been reestablished, we can’t continue like this. We will have to have some disciples in order to look like a sect. Iron Forest, you can call some people from your hometown. Those that are good can join the sect to learn. If not, then they can do chores like you said.”

The old swordsman’s eyes turned red as he kowtowed a few more times. His lips trembled as he was so emotional, he could hardly force words out.

“Thank you Sect Master, thank you Sect Master!”

He repeated.

Only he knew how much Qin Yu’s words meant to a small clan of unimpressive sword cultivators, living in a distant land.

If nothing went wrong, his Iron Family would be blessed.

This would change his entire family’s fate and his descendants would have a good future.

He left quickly.

Rourou was uninterested as she leaned on the couch, “Master Qin, you are pretty good at buying people over. I think next time if you ask him to go and die, he will not even hesitate.”

Qin Yu replied, “I did not think so much. The Opening Heavens Sword Sect must have some disciples after all. Rather than getting those from Swallow Mountain, whose background is unknown, I might as well follow the flow and take up his suggestion.”

Pausing, he continued, “There are many things to do as the sect has just started and needs people. With Iron Forest’s wits, he would definitely have thought of this. He did not hesitate to call on people from his hometown to help…at least, he does not have a bad nature.”

Rourou pursed her lips, “You say so much, but isn’t it all just because you like him and want to win him over? Men are hypocritical.”

Qin Yu rubbed his nose, “Let’s talk about official business.” He turned and sat, “When I was cultivating, I absorbed the Sun Moon Essence. Will it have benefits to the Sun Moon Sword Skill?”

Rourou nodded, “Smart, you noticed it so quickly.”

Alas!
