Chapter 470: Dungeon Boss Of The Dungeon Beneath The World Treant
Chapter 470: Dungeon Boss Of The Dungeon Beneath The World Treant
The 60th Floor Domain Guardian had been defeated, and we were about to conquer this dungeon in a matter of hours. After collecting our rewards, we immediately went to the floor below and found ourselves in front of the waters of the 1st Sea Floor of this dungeon.
"There is really a sea here."
"I would not believe it if I had not seen it with my own eyes. It is just unbelievable."
"We also felt the same seeing this the first time, Aesfen, Alandra. But we got no time to waste here. We should face the boss immediately."
"Right so."
After mesmerizing the sea, we immediately hopped on my Portal and proceeded to the next floor without fighting any monsters. We did it several times until we stood before the doors to this dungeon's strongest.
"The dungeon boss is just behind these doors," I said. "Capturing a dungeon as big as the empire's in just a few hours... I cannot believe we just achieved that level of feat."
"I felt the same, Raphael. I don't think our mothers can do this."
"It is just that you two are incredible, Your Highnesses," Aesfen said with a smile. "You have been recognized by our mother after all."
"If you say so, thanks for the compliment. But you two are also part of this achievement. Now then, before we fight the boss, who will be fighting it?"
"I think it should be you, Raphael."
"You think so, Sister?"
"I guess so. The World Treant has blessed you as its equal, which means you should be the one owning its properties together like this dungeon."
Now that I thought about it, I was basically the owner of the World Treant. Even though it blessed me with the Crest of Mutuality, the conditions were definitely in my favor.
The owner of this dungeon should be the World Treant, as it found it first. According to the agreement, what the World Treant owned was also mine, so I had the right to conquer the dungeon.
"I guess you are right, Sister. I should be more confident with myself and take the agreement seriously. As the co-owner of the dungeon, I shall capture it with my own hands."
After I decided to take the boss myself, I then opened the doors. As expected, we were greeted by a cylindrical place filled with salt water. The surface was calm, but in the depths, a monster was about to awaken for its slumber.
From the stone deck at the entrance, I looked at the depths and sensed that something huge had moved from the bottom and was currently swimming up to the surface. A moment later, we could now see its shadow in the water, and after breaking the surface tension of the sea, the figure of the dungeon boss was unfolded before our eyes.
Splash.
The sea monster was indeed big, around a hundred meters in length. Its red eyes were staring at us. The most distinct feature of this monster was that it had many limbs, to be specific, tentacles.

==========
The dungeon boss was apparently a Kraken, a prominent monster in the sea. It appeared to be a giant squid—an elongated body with ten tentacles. Its body was elastic and slippery; I would be having difficulties slicing it, and each of its suction cups had fangs in them.
On the overworld, Krakens is one of the apex monsters in the Median Sea and the number one cause of shipwrecks if we exclude severe weather conditions. However, kraken attacks were rare as they were being hunted by the Water Ancient Dragon, which was making the Median Sea its domain.
On the bigger picture, the Median Sea was just a strait that connected the oceans. There were countless much more powerful beings roaming in the ocean, and the Median Sea was a shallow haven for the relatively weaker monsters like krakens to hunt for food.
"What kind of monster is that?" Aesfen gaped. "It's so big. I think that is the biggest being that I have been other than Mother."
"It is a Kraken, a terrifying sea monster any sailor does not want to encounter. But let's see what it is capable of."
As soon as I finished my sentence, I drew out my sword and flew off, approaching the kraken. The kraken then turned upside down, revealing its horrifying mouth of rows of sharp teeth, and emerged with its tentacles equipped with fangs above the surface.
Once I got near and reached a certain proximity, the kraken immediately cast Water Magic Level 6: Waterspout in an attempt to suck me to its mouth. Due to its size and magic power, the waterspout was quite strong that I had to resist its force harder.
Perceiving that the sucking me did not have any effect, the kraken stopped the spell before it whipped its tentacles and fired several Level 4: Water Blade at me. Each of the blades was really fast and sharp, and above all, terrifyingly precise. To defend myself, I silently cast Wind Magic Level 5: Wind Shield around my body to vaporize the Water Blades.
Shortly after casting the Water Blades, the Kraken next fired some Level 5: Icicle Spears. They were at least five meters long and were flying at sonic speed. The Wind Shield definitely could not stop its momentum, so I decided to cut it into pieces using my Sanguine Lotus.
"Hundred Slice."
Clink. Clink. Clink.
I sliced all the ice spears with the technique and easily turned them into ice cubes. Just as I did, three tentacles then fastly emerged below my position and tried to grab me. Apparently, krakens had the natural ability to extend their tentacles.
After destroying the last Icicle Spear, I immediately avoided all the tentacles by moving sideways, but they always came back to catch me again. Before they could do it, I swiped my blade horizontally and severed the three tentacles at once.
But instead of falling to the sea, the severed tentacles continued to chase me. The kraken had activated its Fragmentation to maneuver its tentacles remotely. To stop them, I cast Ice Coffin on each of the tentacles, and they fell to the sea, floating like ice cubes.
Actually, those tentacles were just distractions to avert my attention from the kraken. When I looked at it again, the kraken just released a powerful spell, the Water Magic Level 8: Frost Beam.
It was an incredibly fast projectile spell that instantly froze everything it hit down to the bone. Once the target was hit, the kraken had laid another spell beforehand to shatter its frozen target. The kraken had Parallel Thinking, making him capable of casting multiple attacks.
Although I could take it head-on, I did not want to be hit by it, especially when there were audiences around. In an instant, I pointed my blade to the kraken alongside performing an original move of mine that could surely overwhelm the Frost Beam, the Nuclear Beam.
My dark-purplish beam met the light blue beam of the kraken. The Nuclear Beam completely obliterated the Frost Beam before it went straight to the Kraken's body, piercing it.
Hiss...
My attack made contact with the sea, and the vicinity was now covered with fog from the evaporated water. With just one shot, I had defeated the boss of this dungeon.
