Chapter 1424 Blasphemy

Chapter 1424  Blasphemy

Ning felt satisfied with just getting to meet with the person who was close to the inventor Zarius and turned to leave.

"One moment," Tim said before Ning could leave and looked at the old man Havoc. "Sir Havoc, about 12 days ago, a scholar by the name of Tony Scardon should have come to this place to give some sort of—"

"Did you say Tony Scardon?" the old man suddenly said and a look of rage filled his face. "Don't speak of that goddamn man in my tent."

Ning and Jasmine both looked at each other with a hint of surprise in their eyes. Tim was simply shocked by the man's sudden outburst.

"I'm… sorry?" Tim said. "Did he do something?"

Tim had read the newspapers about the man, but there had been nothing in them. He simply had no idea about anything that could have possibly happened.

"What didn't that man do?" the man shouted. "Coming here and claiming that God doesn't exist and whatnot. He tried to claim that the entire faith of Zurinus was a sham and that Zurinus didn't create the Zurin treasure but that they formed naturally."

"What a great nonsense," a man who stood close to Havoc said.

"We should've left him to die," another man said.

Havoc suddenly straightened and looked back at the two, who quickly shut up and said nothing. Ning grew quite curious now. "It seems something big happened during his presentation," he said.

"He claimed God wasn't real, so every single person who is firmly religious tried to kill him for his blasphemous words. We had to quickly sneak him away from the tent before the rowdy crowd could lynch him."

"That sounds terrible," Ning said.

"It was an unfortunate day," the man said. "But it was that man's fault for claiming something so outrageous."

"Do you know where he went afterward? Did he safely get away from the city?" Tim asked.

"City?" Havoc asked with a huff. "That man couldn't even leave the amusement park that day. We had to hide him in one of the tents the whole night so he wouldn't get killed by the crowd that was in the city looking for him."

"They had already found his hotel room somehow and apparently destroyed everything. We had to sneak him out the next day, and since that day he's been living somewhere in safety," the man said. He seemed truly troubled by everything that had happened.

Ning looked at the man's expression and realized that the man didn't like Tony either, and it was also because he was a religious man as well. However, he had still done the right thing to save another man's life.

"Would you mind telling us where he might be?" Ning asked.

"Why? Do you three plan on killing him too?" Havoc asked.

"I don't believe in Zurinus," Ning said. "I believe he is a fake god too." He then smiled at the man, watching his expression closely.

Havoc's eyes widened and then they narrowed as though trying to discern what Ning was playing at.

"You truly believe it, don't you?" he asked.

"Of course," Ning said.

"Goddamn idiot," Havoc said.

"Now, would you mind telling us where he is?" Ning asked.

"What is it to you lot? Why do you want to find him?" the man asked.

"We're somewhat acquainted with the man. You see, he has a tendency of nearly getting beaten to death. Back when we were going from Warfort to Cogonia on a Zeppelin, that man rushed into the pilot's room and tried to take control of the Zeppelin because he thought we were all going to die."

"People kicked him to near death that day because they thought he was going to kill them. We had to save him that day. If not, he would have fully died."

Havoc gave a wondering look. "Is that true?" he asked.

"Absolutely the truth," Ning said. "If you need more to tell me about him, I can tell you that he wears a watch that can somewhat tell the future. If you know anything about him, you would know I'm telling the truth."

"Fine, fine," the man said. "I'll tell him you are looking for him. I will give him the same address as the one you just gave me, and tell him to go visit you if he wishes to. If he doesn't, I can't help you there."

Ning nodded. "But do tell him that I can take him away from this country. And he should do it soon since we will be leaving in a few days," he said.

"What about the inventor? How will you meet his man when he comes back?" the man asked.

"We will come back from time to time. Trust me, it won't take me more than a day so long as you have the person contact me at that address," Ning said.

The man looked at the contact details again and shrugged. If this person wanted to be contacted at a hotel, then he would let it be.

"I will do what you ask," the man said. "If you end up meeting the inventor by any chance, do tell him to come here to reveal his new invention again."

"I will do as you say," Ning said. "I never forget a favor."

They left the giant tent and then made their way out of the amusement park entirely. Walking out of the park and into the city reminded them of just how colorful and fun the park was.

It was as though it was a separate space entirely and the city was a grim reminder of what life really was like.

Ning walked along the street with the other two following him, questioning just what he was going to do next.

"Don't you guys remember what we have to do next?" he asked.

"Treasure hunting?" Jasmine asked.

"Yes," Ning said. "And what is the most important thing for treasure hunting?"

Jasmine and Tim's eyes widened slightly. "Are we on our way to buy a ship?"
