Chapter 93 Toss The Coin (IV)
Chapter 93 Toss The Coin (IV)
?
BAM!
David angrily pounded on the table. The people around were shocked, looking at David with questioning expressions. However, the handsome man didn't care as his veins were throbbing.
Not only David but Alexa also disagreed with Klaus' idea. Risking a company with just a coin toss was foolish. But she chose to keep quiet because she knew Klaus wouldn't do something without a plan.
"Watch what you say, son. I know you're the grandson of a conglomerate, but don't think you can get away with this." David pointed at Klaus.
"David!" Elizabeth snapped. "You are threatening the majority shareholder in Mors Industries? Have you lost your mind?"
The handsome man fell silent instantly.
Although Elizabeth was calm on the outside, her chest was hot with anger. She tried to restrain herself from the insult. It was the first time someone had treated her like a prostitute. Nevertheless, she was still able to maintain her composure.
On the other hand, Klaus grinned, successfully shutting the mouths of these arrogant people. He knew he would be drawn into her game if he followed Elizabeth's conversation. So, she took over the conversation and tricked the woman with the gift she wanted badly.
"You want to toss a coin, huh?" asked Klaus sarcastically.
Elizabeth considered the offer, inhaling, but she knew Klaus was hiding a trick under his sleeve. However, she could not pass up the opportunity.
Sex was a small price for a large company that could produce artificial arcana. She had to take the risk for a greater result.
Besides, Elizabeth had a way to win this bet.
"Alright, let's play," Elizabeth replied confidently.
David dropped his jaw. The expression on his face said he disagreed with his boss's decision. "Boss! Are you sure you want to do this? It is a trap!"
"Shut up, David. I know what I'm doing."
While the handsome man was upset, Alexa buried her face in her hands. This lunch was supposed to be a business agenda, but it became a stupid game.
"You're naive if you think I will object to this silly bet. You will regret it." Confident words escaped the blonde woman's mouth.
"Then pick a hotel for us tonight," Klaus taunted.
Elizabeth just snorted. She could withstand Klaus' provocation, but not David. That handsome man gritted his teeth and gave Klaus a hateful glare.
Then, Klaus explained the rules of the game. They would both choose a side before the tossing coin landed. If either side managed to guess twice in a row, he was the winner. But if they drew twice, the third toss would determine the final result.
"Are you ready?" asked Klaus.
"Just do it."
Placing the coin on the tip of his thumb, Klaus flipped the coin to throw it. He glanced at David and Elizabeth, giving them sly looks, instilling a strong sense of suspicion. David was annoyed, but the blonde woman kept a straight face.
Ting!
The coin was thrown upwards and swirled in the air for a moment. When it landed on the back of Klaus' hand, he covered it with his other hand.
"Which is one? The tail or the head," Klaus asked.
Pursing her lips, Elizabeth pondered as she stared at Klaus' hand, trying to guess which side of the coin was facing up.
"Tails."
"Are you sure?" Klaus asked for confirmation.
Elizabeth clicked her tongue. "Hurry up and open it."
"In that case, I'm the head."
Klaus snorted while shaking his head. When he opened his hand, the coin side of the head faced the surface.
Elizabeth lost the first round. The woman looked taken aback. However, the one who was upset was not her but David. His hand squeezed the glass tightly until it cracked.
"Looks like I got lucky," Klaus quipped.
"Or you're cheating," David chimed in.
The handsome man couldn't hide his anger. He had great suspicion of Klaus. Nevertheless, he could still restrain himself as Elizabeth remained calm.
Receiving unpleasant accusations, Klaus chuckled. He offered the man to toss a coin.
"Do you want to do it?" Klaus asked. "I don't like it when people who like to use tricks consider me a cheat." He insinuated David for using [Desired Love] to lure Alexa. Of course, that man could only keep quiet.
David snorted and looked away.
"Alright, I'm starting the second pitch."
When Klaus was about to toss the coin, Elizabeth held his hand. Naturally, Klaus raised his eyebrows in curiosity.
"Let your CEO toss the coin." Elizabeth gave Alexa a sharp look.
"I don't want to get involved in your game," Alexa said bluntly.
The bespectacled woman kept trying to maintain her neutrality. She didn't want to be dragged down if one of them failed.
Besides, Alexa wanted to make sure Klaus' plans were good.
"Throw the coin, Alexa. It looks like they don't trust me."
Sighing, the CEO finally complied with Klaus' request. She could not resist or do anything.
Ting!
The coin flew upwards as Alexa threw it. Swirling in the air, it fell beautifully before finally landing on the back of her hand. She quickly covered it with her other hand.
"What are your options?" the bespectacled woman asked.
"You first, Miss Elizabeth," said Klaus.
The blonde woman was silent for a moment. "You choose."
Klaus smiled. "Alright, I'll tail."
As Alexa opened her hand, the coin side of the tails faced the surface.
Klaus won for the second time.
Seeing the result of the bet, Klaus raised his eyebrows and smiled widely. He gave the blonde-haired woman a teasing glare.
On the other hand, Elizabeth was wringing her hands. Of course, she did not accept this defeat.
"This is cheating!"
David stood up shouting, drawing the attention of the restaurant patrons. A waiter told another waiter to call the manager.
"This was a pure coin toss. How could I cheat?" asked Klaus.
"Don't lie! You must have elemental metal. You controlled the coin so that you won this bet!"
Klaus chuckled. "It's bullshit. Do you have any proof?"
"I know! You're also the one who dispersed my pheromones on—"
SLAP!
Elizabeth slapped David. The customers witnessed the incident. They pouted in distaste, along with the "own" that filled the restaurant.
"Shut up. You talk too much, David. Go to the bathroom and wash your face."
David went to the bathroom with his hands squeezed while biting his lip.
Outside, a cloudy sky began to cover the sky. This cloudy scene matched Elizabeth's feelings. The woman could not accept defeat.
Alexa secretly glanced at Klaus, wondering if he would take the prize bet, making out with the Guild Master of the Oathkeeper.
"It's not that I want to break my promise. But I'm sure you're cheating." Elizabeth looked at Klaus with a cynical look in her eyes.
Klaus chuckled. "That's a lame excuse. If you knew I was cheating, why did you join the game? Don't tell me you don't want to keep your word."
"I've tasted dozens of men. Making out with you means nothing."
"Sounds like a whore," Klaus quipped.
"You—!"
Dabum!
Suddenly lightning struck along with Elizabeth's emotional outburst. Klaus glanced out the window and suddenly found the rain pouring down on Manhattan. He felt the surge of mana that leaked from Elizabeth as the woman became angry. He suspected that she was the cause.
"Laplace, tell me the power of the woman before me," Klaus ordered telepathically.
<Yes, my liege.>
Not long after, status information appeared in front of his face.
<Profile Information>
[Name: Elizabeth Jung]
[Age: 32]
[Role: Caster]
[Talent: Weather Control]
[Elemental Affinity: Metal (Strong)]
[Battle Power: 92,555]
[Rank: S-Class]
[Status: Certified]
Looking at the status information, he immediately understood why Elizabeth dared to take this bet.
"It turns out that she has metal element manipulation. Tch," Klaus muttered.
A manager came in, about to tell them to calm down and not disturb the other customers. Still, he decided against it after discovering that the person causing trouble was Elizabeth Jung.
"Let me see your Smartlink. Show me what elemental affinity you have," the blonde woman said coldly through her teeth.
Klaus sighed. He accessed the SmartLink and showed it to Elizabeth, and then she grinned in victory.
"Huh, it turns out you do have elemental metal. What my subordinate says is true; you are manipulating this game. What a jerk," Elizabeth insulted.
Klaus clicked his tongue. "Your accusation is baseless. You are an S-Class, and I am an F-Class. You should be able to easily tell if I'm cheating and stop the game at that moment. What kind of nonsense is this? It turns out that a Guild Master of the Oathkeeper's caliber can't keep her word. Unbelievable!"
"You—!"
Dabum.
Lightning struck once again. The rain outside was getting heavier. Elizabeth was trapped in this situation.
During the coin toss, she controlled the coin's spin so it could land on the side she wanted. However, she could not control the spin of the coin even though she tried. Naturally, Elizabeth became suspicious of Klaus.
She could have canceled the bet, but her credibility would have been questioned. Elizabeth was both a Guild Master and a businesswoman. If her words had no weight, people would start to lose trust.
Right now, the choice was twofold. Admit defeat and sleep with Klaus, or cancel the bet and leave immediately. Both were shameful choices.
However, Klaus had just started his plan.
Grinning, he said, "How about we add a third coin toss? But on the condition that the bet value is raised."
Naturally, Elizabeth opened her eyes wide.
