Chapter 67: Chapter 67 – Little Blond Girl
Saturday the only break day she had. Feng happily took the twins up to the deck and enjoyed their peace and quiet.
Elle soon joined them and following her came a tired-looking Yubiri.
“Did you not sleep?” Elle mumbled, glancing at the black circled under his eyes.
“no, but I made something useful, unlike you little nugget,” he snapped a finger on her forehead.
The little girl grumbled and beat him with her tiny fists.
“Elle, come here. He looks tired.” Feng beckoned her to the empty seat next to her.
Before she could run there, Aiden ran forward and sat next to Feng and Ethan sat on the other side.
.....
“You both are not fair. Meimie is mine.”
“She is ours,” Ethan said with a proud smile.
Being the centre of attention of three kids, Feng awkwardly smiled. “Mister Yu, come sit with us.”
“Yes~” Yubiri happily ran to her and sat on the nearby bench. “I have something for you. The last time I was not able to give you any gifts but... here I hope you accept it this time. As a friend...,” he handed her a small brown box.
Feng naturally wanted to reject it, but since they were no longer strangers, it was better to accept it. ‘If it’s too fancy or costly I shall reject it,’ she thought as she opened it.
Inside was a small glass sphere. It looked more like that voodoo crystal ball from harry potter. “What is it?” she whispered curiously.
“Look at its centre,” he excitedly gestured for her.
Feng peered in. There was a small circular art piece etched inside. But it was so small that it was almost invisible. “There is a drawing.”
“That is an enchantment. It can help you with your sore muscles after training.” He smiled at her dazzlingly.
Feng lanced at him in surprise. “Really? This little thing can take away my pain!”
“Yes, it will make it seem like there is no pain at all.” he proudly glanced at the twins as well.
Ethan and Aiden scoffed at him.
“Master should have taught us that enchantment. By simply drawing it on a piece of paper we could have helped Feng relieve her pain long back,” Aiden bit back with a sweet smile.
Yubiri’s smiling lips twitched. “A girl should have pretty gifts.”
“no, no, I think Aiden is right. Drawing on paper might have been much efficient and cost free than this. But this is so sooo pretty. Thank you so much~” Feng smiled at him.
The young mage blushed slightly and glance at the floor.
“Oh my god, is he blushing?” Elle ran to him and peaked at him from under. “He is! So not manly,” she continued poking his red cheeks and laughed out loud.
“Who said men can’t blush,” Yubiri slightly pushed her prodding hands away. Besides, I was not blushing. I rubbed my cheeks too hard.”
“Liar liar chicken on fire,” Elle sang and ran around him.
Recently Elle had become quite comfortable with Yubiri. No one knows why, but she kinda likes teasing him a lot.
Feng happily watched their exchange. Suddenly small cold hands grabbed hers. Aiden glanced up with the sweetest smile she had ever seen.
“What is it?”
“I’m jealous you like his gift~” he leaned against.
Ethan followed in his footsteps and did the same. “I’m double jealous,”
Elle glanced at them, eyes wide. “Hey, I’m triple jealous!! Get away from my Meimei!!” she ran to them and tried pushing them away but the boys firmly stuck to Feng.
Watching all this, Yubiri bit the insides of his cheeks. ‘I’m dying of jealousy. I want to hug her too.....’
The kid kept tugging and jumping on Feng so much that the little glass sphere on her lap dropped.
“Oh.. wait a bit.” Feng leaned down to pick it up, but the sphere kept rolling away.
“I’ll bring it for you,” Yubiri offered kindly and ran after it. The little glass ball rolled down the stairs and into the lower decks.
He ran behind it and used a bit of magic to pause it in action.
Mid-step, it paused.
He walked to it, but a pair of small hands beat him to it.
“is this yours, mister?” a little girl whispered in a sweet voice holding up the ball. Her eyes were bright blue, as blue as the sky, and her hair was shimmering platinum blond with cute curls in the end. She was wearing a cotton dress with a ton of frills on it.
Yubiri nodded and reached out to take it out of her hands. But the little girl dodged him a bit.
“What do you say when you receive help?” she said with a stern expression.
“Thanks,” he whispered, and took it from her grubby hands.
The little blond girl just smiled and twirled her skirt. “Mister, what is your name? You are so handsome.”
“Don’t wish to tell you.” he ran up the stairs to Feng.
The little girl followed after him, holding his pant legs. “Wait mister, it’s rude not to tell your name to me.”
“I am not obliged to tell you anything.” he frowned slightly and shook her hands off. “Girl, go play somewhere else,”
He rushed back to the deck and handed the ball back to Feng after wiping it clean.
“Oh thank you so much, sire Yu. I have troubled you too much.”
“It’s my pleasure.” He bowed with a dazzling smile.
“Mister....” a small voice whispered behind him.
The little girl shyly looked at him and then at the twins. Her hands clutched her skirt tightly. “Can I join you?”
The twins instantly whispered, “No,” with a frown.
“Why not?” Her clear blue eyes fogged up in tears. “I want to play too...”
Elle glanced at her with a deep frown. “Only children can play with us. Not you,”
The little girl slightly sniffed. “But he is not young,” she pointed at Yubiri.
Elle just shrugged. “He is weird. So we accepted him,”
The little girl started sobbing loudly. Feng tried to go comfort her, but the twins and Elle tightly griped onto her possessively.
“Clarina, my dear, here you were,” a young maid ran to her and picked her up. “Sorry miss and mister if my daughter had disturbed you.” she bowed deeply. Her mousy brown hair fell over her shoulders, and she continued bowing.
“It’s okay, not a problem at all,” Feng whispered.
“Mommy, I want to play with that handsome man,” the child continued crying loudly.
The young maid awkwardly smiled at them and ran back to the below deck.
