Vol. 8 - Chapter 412 - A flawless (lol) Brave ensnaring plan in progress?

Let's turn the flow of time backward to when guild battle had yet to start.

I'm Amy, a 3rd year student and guild master of ‹Flash of Flower› guild. We were the so-called girls only guild that rejected anyone but girls.

As a guild heavily dominated with front-liner swordsman related jobs, a majority of girls were sword or blade users. I guess you could say the gathering of like-minded was the prelude to all of it.

In fact, we did have boys in the past but, you know what happens in such scenarios, things were getting derailed often. A huge bunch of them were more intent on being the 'shield' at the frontline...... as if showing their cool side 'I shall be you protector, ladies' or 'Leave the front-line to me, may you watch my back' was their raison d'etre.

Well, it wasn’t entirely ineffective against our maiden heart, however the girls in our guild were also quite tomboyish as a lot had the vanguard jobs. So, the boys hogging the stage and taking any freely-moving position became a sore spot to their eyes.

And the dreaded day came, their pent-up frustration exploded, more radiant than Spe-fat's firework. Girls challenged boys with 'it's either you or us' over the vanguard position and ultimately, girls won. Boys lost their footing in the guild since then. Recalling back at the ordeal, I was just as naive. I should have intervened and tried to look for a middle group as their leader.

Either way, all the boys withdraw themselves from the guild. Subsequently, our guild was suddenly seen as a girls only guild with no room for boys.

It was a tragedy.

The girls, being famished for boys now, all decided to see if they could solicit some boys in the guild for 'vanguard position since they can handle vanguard'. But not a single soul joined in. It's really a mystery.

I bet the boyfriend's hungry gazes of girls must have driven them away. For crying out loud, It wouldn't hurt for them to learn some more maiden-like behavior for once. But now that 3rd years were out of the picture with graduations this year, I could understand their desperation. Even I wanted a boyfriend.

Well, leaving aside the unfortunate state of members, our guild was quite famous in itself. I would say our guild rank well even among other D-rank guilds, and the academy also had trust in us. They frequently pass some important quests to us.

In fact, one of the often quests asked us to play out as the opponent of the challenger in the D-rank promotion exam. The uprising E-rank guilds need more than just a little trick if they want to pave a path to top, while the girls in our were had a knack on adjusting their strength according to the challenge . Besides, being the girls only guild also added another layer of reassurance so we were often given the role to be their opponent. One perk of it was that we were often chosen to play guild battles against noble sons and daughters. Ironically, and since our guild knows how to measure their strength, our opponent would usually be satisfied with the performance which in turn made job hunting a cinch—or if I say so, our employment was guaranteed.

We wanted boys in our guild, but that would mean dropping the umbrella of 'girls only guild'. Who knows if it would affect our quests frequency as well?

However, just for once, we saw a ray of hope amidst the dilemma. If only we could get ‹Brave› into our guild. There was no end to regret. I cursed myself, why didn't I emphasize the harem aspect more assertively that time?

Alas, ‹Brave› established his own guild ever since that solicitation war, and any of the advances afterward were stopped by the black clothed imperial guards, so we could only give up. But imagine my surprise when the challenger in our usual to-be opponent of guild for D-rank promotion exam turned out to be ‹Eden›. I don't know how else to describe it if not a divine revelation.

Brave-kun has contributed plenty to the academy and also been in constant limelight. A person like him was simply a godsend for our guild to have our own cake and eat it too. And I mean, Brave-kun himself was quite a charming person with a hot body, good job and transcendental skills that would put even seniors to shame. This was our chance, I decided.

The plan was to gain a landslide victory over ‹Brave›, and then when he's down in defeat, soothe his depressed psyche and pull him in our guild! A masterplan, must I say!

I also informed other girls to not hold back in this guild battle. A guild of ‹Eden› caliber doesn't need our consideration after all. Oh, and just right, I have to make sure to put a team centered around 2nd year students. Can't let any of my peers steal the march!

The finalized team included me—that goes without saying—seven 2nd years, and two other traitors with boyfriends. It was a perfect team with plenty of room to show my brilliant side. It's the guildmaster's right to select members after all, ehehe. Maybe I am a genius?

Guildmaster position, hurray! I was magnamious enough to not mind the 'talk about creepy' comment from the sub-master while drifting in the ecstasy express. The same goes for other members who comment 'Eww, what stinky face' as I am—hold there! Who're you calling a stinky face! Trashtalk of this level wasn't something I could turn a deaf ear to! Who was it that laughed just now, show yourself or suffer my wrath!

Hmph. There were a lot of ups and downs. But, just for this one, I shall forgive all this transgress. However, don't mind me stealing a march on Brave-kun, alright? Ohohohoho!
