Chapter 1446: Red & Redy
?
I knew the Quest System was capable of incredible miracles, creating items that helped me grow and advance even further, so I was slightly hoping a special quest for this would pop up.
But nothing! I guess it's not fate-changing enough? Dammit!
"I guess that won't work either, okay, whatever," I nodded. "I'll try to find my own way. You can't really find any way through the other systems? Don't the Dungeon System make or administrate souls?"
I glanced at Alice, but she seemed slightly sad that she couldn't help me more.
"Yes but I am not in charge of it... We'll have to see if we can learn a thing from the Dungeon System," she said.
I guess that's it, I'll find my own way, and I won't just destroy poor souls for nothing.
Unless they're the souls of some... true demon that I really hate, or a evil god, or something in between them.
Irremediable bastards that have done so much wrong that an afterlife is not what they deserve anymore.
But even wild monsters that try to eat me are innocent in my eyes, I mean, they're acting on instincts, right?
I have no remorse slaying them to survive and also to eat and grow stronger.
But destroying their souls is just too much, it's like going beyond that, I took their lives, but I won't deny their chance to have a new life later.
The same way I wouldn't hunt every single being of a certain species and I usually limit myself quite a lot on what I hunt, even more, I don't hunt pups or younglings from monster species either.
I have my standards and well, morals. My parents always told me that it's important to have them at all times, or else, I become no better than the lawless bandits that took away everything from me in my first life.
"For now though, you have to decide what to do with these little guys."
Alice looked at the Imps, who were now playing with one another, playfully biting each other. They were so cuteeee!
"Hm..."
"I think you should store them into that dimensional realm and-"
Yggdra was going on again about having to store them away.
Why would I do that? They're like my babies!
They like biting yeah, but they're nice overall... I think.
"I should give them names!"
That's all I was thinking, honestly.
"Names?!" Alice asked. "Sylphy they're Demonic Beasts, I don't think they'll grow attached to you like-"
Oh right...
"And maybe System Seeds?" I asked.
Alice facepalmed as she screamed.
"Names?! Sylphy, these are creatures from hell!"
"Alice you told me to choose this skill anyways, right?"
"Uuhh..."
She looked elsewhere, feigning ignorance.
"So I'll call them..." I said. "Hmm, the first one has to have a special name - Okay, you'll be Red!"
"Red, really?" wondered Ignatius. "Your naming sense has deteriorated lately..."
"Shut it!" I said. "And the second... I wish you were blue colored... Okay, I'll call you Redy."
"Red and Redy!" Naturia was happy. "So these are new friends?"
"Yes, they sure are!" I nodded. "Okay, now..."
Ding!
[You have named your Contracted Lesser Demonic Beasts as [Red] and [Redy]!]
[The bond and royalty they have towards you has increased.]
"Nice! Now, Alice... Can you give me a system seed?" I asked her. "Pretty please?"
"Hmm... Ok, but their price has increased lately," she said. "I'll make only one for now..."
She quickly created a silver-colored cube from her own spiritual body.
FLASH!
[You have exchanged 30.000.000 EXP!]
[You have created a [System Seed]!]
"Woah, thirty million?!"
"I told you before that their price increase over time," she said. "You've made so many, that it was obvious they'll start costing a lot," she said. "Also, were you going to give one to Ruby too? I'll prepare another."
"Okay then, thanks," I nodded. "I have a lot of EXP though, so maybe I shouldn't worry for the moment."
"Here, Red, take this."
I pushed the silver cube into Red's fluffy body, as he looked at it curiously before trying to eat
it.
However, it merged into his body before that, and thank god it did, I didn't want to find out that it would end up with problems because of that.
FLUOSH!
A powerful silver and neon blue colored aura surged from little Red, encompassing him with circuits of blue color.
I saw red colored thunderbolt, sparkles of electricity, surging from his body.
Was the System Seed having troubles integrating with a Demonic Beast?!
Were their bodies so different that they can't accept systems?!
"Alice, what's going on?!"
"Ah, as I thought..."
Alice sighed, facepalming.
"True Demons are like the total opposite of what the Reincarnation Gods are..." she said. "They eat and destroy souls forever, halting or completely stopping the flow of Reincarnation Cycles. Eventually, if they go out of control and consume entire worlds, billions of souls are lost forever... So I suppose they're indeed the opposite of Systems."
"I didn't know you knew so much about them..." I said.
"Well, I didn't remember much, but as I repaired myself and grew stronger, more memories and information appeared," she said. "As I analyzed these True Demons, I learned more about them from suppressed data banks."
"Interesting..." I nodded. "Ah! Red!"
As I learned some more about how the True Demons were the total opposite of the Reincarnation Gods, giving me some insight about the life of these beings beyond this world,
I noticed Red suddenly stopped having issues.
"Gebo?"
He tilted his head, wondering what was happening to me, most likely.
"Huh? Did he assimilate it or not?" I wondered.
Alice glared at Red from afar, squinting her eyes.
"I-I have no idea, I can't feel my seed anymore, it's strange," she said. "But I think that's...
Oh?"
FLASH!
Then I saw that Redy also gained a faint aura similar to the System Aura from the beginning. And then, their auras connected, and the System Seed's presence resurfaced. "T-This is beyond... what I thought!" Alice gasped. "It worked! But it also changed? The system... Wait, is it because they're so weak that their power going against the System Seed was simply not enough and it managed to get through? Incredible! Red and Redy might be the only True Demonic beings capable of getting a system seed working, Sylphy!"
"And it's because they're weak? Okay that's a bit hilarious..."
