Chapter 102: Silent Protest
Chapter 102: Silent Protest
With the lure used up, there were no more Stonehide Boars attracted to their area.
Nevertheless, Xu Feng was quite satisfied with earning 36 Stonehide Boar hides from this one hunt already. Their skills alone could barely handle 10-20 and would have probably sacrificed quite a bit to obtain a decent result.
Thus, Xu Feng took matters into his own hands and wasted some of the precious herbs he had generously accepted from the Holy Sanctuary to synthesize some explosive powder.
These explosive powders are specialized and only some herbs could be extracted into such powder. The explosive power when triggered was immense, but that was only viable for monsters.
If it was used to apply on players, the most he could obtain was around 20-40 percent of their health.
"For the remaining 14 Stonehide Boar hides, we'll need to search for them ourselves." Xu Feng commented.
"Huh? Are we not even going to rest a bit?" Zhao Kai frowned deeply upon hearing that there might not be any break. Given Xu Feng's tone of speech, it was quite evident that he was going to rush them to continue the hunt.
"I'm exhausted from overusing the Gluttony skill, Feng." He complained and protested by sitting down without any intention of moving.
"Are you a child or what? Let's not waste any time idling here."
"No, I need to regenerate my stamina and hunger."
"You can regenerate them while walking. You've bought a lot of skewers so you can easily walk and eat at the same time."
"..."
Unable to rebuke him, Zhao Kai decided to close his eyes and crossed his arms, doing a silent protest.
Can't win with words, then he might as well not speak and stay silent.
Yes, this was called playing rogue, but most importantly, Zhao Kai believed taking ample rest after a long and tedious task was necessary.
After all, the synchronization of the Divine World was too amazing, making them feel as if they were actually the ones experiencing and doing all the actions.
It was not the same as if one decided to sit on a computer chair and play on the computer with the keyboard and mouse. The experiences were just too vastly different.
One could really feel their own body's limitation in the Divine World, proving that it was not just a simple game.
Stamina, satiety, pain, etc, a player could feel and connect with them all as if they were living in another life.
Opening one of his eyes slowly, Zhao Kai said, "If we keep overworking ourselves, then we might faint from fatigue itself. Our brain and body need to rest properly."
"I don't have much time to waste, Kai." Xu Feng responded, referring to his real name and not his character name.
"I still have another ongoing mission and time is limited if I want to get the best reward." He added, revealing the reason for his urgency.
Dumbfounded, Zhao Kai didn't expect Xu Feng to have another mission in hand.
"Wait, then why did you come all the way here if you have a time-limited mission?" He asked in confusion.
Xu Feng didn't answer, but his gazes alone were enough for him to understand something.
With a bitter smile, Zhao Kai slowly pointed at himself, "You came here to help me out, right?"
Given how much of a noob he was, Xu Feng probably thought he needed to meet up with him personally and guide him slowly, especially in letting him know the realism of the Divine World was far different than the previous games.
"You could have just waited until you finished your mission!" He stood up and exclaimed in anger. Despite the angered tone, Zhao Kai was actually despising himself for hindering his mission.
Had he not displayed such a carefree attitude and seemingly clueless behavior, then Xu Feng might not have made the decision to assist him personally.
And now that he reconsidered everything properly, he noticed just how subtly Xu Feng had been when dropping advice and suggestions on how to improve.
It was never done excessively and was always done at the correct time, preventing him from suspecting anything.
"You really are painting me as a bad friend now, Feng." Zhao Kai complained, quickly packing up and stuffing himself with skewers.
"Tell me where we headed to farm for the remaining Stonehide Boars. I'll shoot all of them down!" He held his Ironbolt Rifle and patted on his Ironclad Marksman Armor, clearly ready for another brawl.
"We can reverse trace the track from the Stonehide Boar. Their trails are easy to detect based on their powerful paw, so we just need to follow it and locate their habitat." Xu Feng informed him.
"Leave it up to me then."
Without needing to be instructed, Zhao Kai started tracing the trail, his enthusiasm skyrocketing at a rapid rate.
Now that he realized Xu Feng was actually short on time yet never actually complained despite his wilful acts, he felt even more guilty and ashamed about it.
Not once had Xu Feng stopped him, albeit with some reluctance, but still complied with him.
What could he say when Xu Feng was willing to go that far for him?
It was hard to make friends like these, and once missed, it would be nearly impossible to get back.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng was somewhat glad that Zhao Kai was at least taking things seriously.
'If you want to be respected, then make a name for yourself here. Sooner or later, only those at the top in the Divine World would be respected.' Xu Feng thought to himself.
As much as Xu Feng wanted to tell him this, he knew it would be labeled as nonsense or joking.
The potential of the Divine World was still not well-known to most, which was a blessing in disguise. He could not afford to have any big corporation to jump into this hidden wealth.
"Feng, stop lagging behind. We need to advance faster." Zhao Kai shouted from afar.
"Yes, I want to know who was the one lagging earlier." Xu Feng shook his head and teased, increasing his pace to follow closely behind.
