Chapter 112: Physically Fit
Chapter 112: Physically Fit
Despite the anger boiling up in his emotions, Chris ensured that only an amicable smile could be seen on his face.
The person in front of him was a millionaire, whereas he was just an office worker. Not to mention, that person was a customer.
If news got out that Chris scolded or yelled at a rich customer, then he could pack his bag and get the hell out of the Global Trust Bank because he would be fired.
His concealment of emotion was rather good, but it wasn't good enough to deceive Xu Feng.
How could he not know the feelings Chris was having when he had been in his shoes multiple times in the past timeline?
Nevertheless, that didn't mean Xu Feng would sympathize with him because that was just the harsh reality of the world.
His status was no longer that of a person being ordered around. He was now someone who would order others around.
Grabbing the teacup and giving a few sips, Xu Feng patted Chris on the shoulder, "Thanks for the help. I'll leave you to it."
After putting the teacup down, Xu Feng promptly exited the office, leaving a bittersweet taste of Chris alone in the office along with the mess.
"Ugh, rich people are really scum!" Chris scratched his hair a few times in annoyance once he was sure Xu Feng had left.
Frustrated and annoyed, Chris went to his computer, and without checking the screen, he closed the file of Xu Feng, marking it as VIP. At the end of the day, the person was a VIP with his new wealth, so he could only swallow his annoyance.
As he plopped to his chair, Chris wondered if he should resign. 'My son kept rambling about some new VR game that's akin to another world. Maybe I should give it a try to escape this reality.'
While Chris pondered his life choices, Xu Feng had already started walking to a mall.
"I should really change my clothes." Xu Feng muttered, glancing at the reflection mirror that was attached to a nearby wall.
People often say don't judge a book by its cover, but everyone knows that they always judge.
Hence, Xu Feng needed to change his appearance to match the wealthy kind, otherwise, he would constantly be looked down upon. Since he was rich, then he might as well do an upgrade and save himself some stupid cliche scene of people mocking him for being poor.
Sometime later, Xu Feng entered a luxury store and he began to browse through the suits section.
"Hello, how may I assist you?" A female employee flashed a smile and inquired.
She exuded elegance, with her impeccably tailored uniform and sleek, polished appearance. Her demeanor was warm yet professional and gave a welcoming kind of vibe to Xu Feng.
"Catherine huh?" Xu Feng glanced at her nametag and responded, "I want a few suits of my size."
"A few suits?" Catherine raised an eyebrow, "Give me one moment."
She then promptly retreated, grabbing a measuring tape.
While she was prepared to return to Xu Feng, her colleague suddenly dragged her by the arm and said, "You can't be serious, right, Catherine?"
Confused, Catherine glanced at her colleague. "What do you mean, Wei Wei?"
"You're new, so you don't know, but poor people like him can't possibly afford it. You're just wasting your time." Wei Wei explained, trying to save her colleague from wasting her effort.
However, Catherine shook her head and smiled, "Even if that's the case, any person who enters our store is a customer. Also, we shouldn't judge them by their outer appearance."
"Fine, if you want to waste your time, then go ahead."
"Thanks for the advice though, Wei Wei. I know you experienced some terrible customers previously, but we can't judge them all the same. After all, some could dress real fancy on the surface but are actually scum on the inside."
Wei Wei twitched her mouth and waved her hand, seemingly telling her to go away. She had given her piece of advice, and it was her choice to continue to serve a possible fake customer.
Catherine merely nodded her head in response. She knew Wei Wei meant well and did not mean to judge the customers.
Sometime later, Catherine returned and asked Xu Feng to extend his arms so she could measure his size.
Xu Feng did as instructed and complied with her. Just when she was nearly done with the measurement, another voice echoed by the entrance.
"Where's Catherine? I want her to measure my size again." A snarky and arrogant tone resounded through the store.
And Xu Feng only had one thing to say. 'Are you fucking kidding me?'
He turned to Catherine who was taken aback by the voice and asked, "Please tell me that person isn't someone who is pursuing you?"
This kind of cliche and timing scene was old. Not only old but very cringe and annoying at the same time.
Thankfully, Catherine shook her head and explained, "No, he's just a narcissistic person who wants me to measure his body size and tell him he's fit."
"Huh?" Baffled, Xu Feng turned around and finally realized her meaning.
No offense to appearance, but Xu Feng nearly screamed the word "PIG" aloud when he saw the fat person rushing in their direction.
As that fat person arrived, he exclaimed, "Catherine, look at me. I'm physically fit now that I lost some pounds."
"Yes, you are fit, Mister Ning." Catherine kept her professional smile and responded.
Ning Yi was satisfied with the compliment, "Heh, at least you are still perfect in your vision. Quick, find me a new suit that matches my new fit body."
"Apologies, Mister Ning, but I'm helping another customer at the moment."
"Another customer?" Ning Yi raised an eyebrow, and turned to Xu Feng, finally giving some attention to him.
Unfazed, Xu Feng gazed at him without moving an inch.
After a few moments of silence, Ning Yi suddenly laughed and pointed at Xu Feng, "Look at your size, fat man. How can you possibly have your size measured? Do you have any shame?"
