Chapter 115: Transformation
Chapter 115: Transformation
A few minutes had gone by since Xu Feng successfully obtained the trust of Ning Yi, and Catherine returned with a few nice suits.
"Mister Feng, I hope these suits are to your liking," Catherine said, holding up the suits with her hands to display them.
Before Xu Feng could even respond, Ning Yi suddenly extended his hand with a diamond card and said, "Just use my card and pay for it. My brother here likes them all if it's from your choice, Catherine."
"..."
Both Xu Feng and Catherine were speechless by his actions.
They glanced at each other for a moment, and Xu Feng could only shrug his shoulders in response, indicating to her to do whatever he said.
"V-Very well then," She flashed an awkward smile before grabbing his diamond card to complete the transaction. At the same time, she tilted her head slightly, seemingly in confusion.
'How did the two become brothers?' She wondered silently. Just a few minutes ago, the tension was intense and she had to slyly leave the scene to avoid being hit in a collateral.
Yet now they were apparently so friendly to the point of addressing each other as brothers.
Men sure are weird!
That was the verdict she had in mind, but it wasn't all that bad because she knew deep down that Ning Yi wasn't those arrogant young masters.
Sure, he was arrogant and flaunted his wealth constantly, but never once did he actually use money to force others to do things they were unwilling to do.
Thus, she had a rather good impression of Ning Yi, unlike others who always believed themselves to be king when all they had to rely on was their parents.
As Catherine proceeded to do her own things, Ning Yi turned to Xu Feng and asked, "What are you planning to do after shopping?"
"School." Xu Feng flatly responded.
"Huh?" Baffled, Ning Yi was taken aback. "Why are you going to school when you clearly cut classes? Just look at the time now."
"Who said I'm going to school to attend classes?" Xu Feng rolled his eyes.
"I'm being accused and framed for causing the school to lose the competition, so I need to go to the dean's office to give a statement."
"WHAT??!"
Ning Yi's loud voice startled some of the nearby customers and employees, but he didn't care about them.
His gaze remained on Xu Feng and with a solemn expression, he asked, "Which school is it to have such balls to frame a student for their losses?"
"Kingston."
"Fuck, Kingston?" Ning Yi was rendered speechless when he realized that was the same school he attended.
Worse, his father was one of the decision-makers regarding that school. So for such an incident to occur behind their back was challenging their authority.
"Hmph, you can rest assured, Brother Feng. I'll go with you and see if they are really trying to put the blame on a student." Ning Yi exclaimed, clearly despising injustice, especially those who abuse their power.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng feigned ignorance and merely nodded his head helplessly while repeatedly warning him to not do anything crazy.
"The dean always hated me because of my poor background, so please don't make it worse for me." He said bitterly, purposely painting himself as a pitiful victim.
Ning Yi was too gullible to understand it was a part of his scheme, so he merely patted Xu Feng's shoulder to console him.
Secretly though, Ning Yi was ready to rat on them to his father regarding their misconduct if this news were proven to be true.
After all, it was a stain on their Kingston school, and his father cared very much about his dignity and reputation.
Sometime later, Catherine finished packaging the suits for Xu Feng.
"Here you go, Mister Feng," Catherine said, ready to hand off the merchandise.
"Oh, apologies, but can you take one of the suits out for me to wear right now and send the rest to my apartment in Apex Tower, room 360." Xu Feng responded. Having been distracted by Ning Yi, he nearly forgot to say this instruction.
After all, it would have been really awkward to carry the bags around while returning to school.
"Very well, which color of the suit do you want?"
"I'll choose this black one."
"Okay."
A few minutes later, Xu Feng held the suit and went to the dressing room to get changed while Ning Yi took this opportunity to chat with Catherine.
"Heh, Catherine, my brother is probably going to take a while, so why don't you help me with the measurement?" Ning Yi said cheekily, bouncing his belly.
"Are you sure?" Catherine smiled awkwardly. With a single glance, she could see that his weight didn't change much, so there wouldn't be any major change in the measurement either.
"I have never been so sure, Catherine." A solemn expression appeared on his face as Ning Yi responded in a deep and serious tone.
However, his so-called seriousness seemed to be dampened deeply by his outer appearance, making it somewhat comical instead.
Nevertheless, Catherine sighed softly and complied with his request, given that he was a customer— one that didn't irritate her.
A few minutes later, Xu Feng came out of the dressing room, clad in a whole new look.
Now dressed in a luxury black suit, Xu Feng's transformation was striking.
The impeccably tailored suit accentuated his lean build, while his neatly styled brown hair added to his polished look.
However, the rectangular glasses, a holdover from his previous appearance, seemed slightly out of place amidst his otherwise sophisticated and authoritative new image.
"No offense, Brother Feng, but your glasses look out of place." Ning Yi furrowed his brows and rubbed his chin, commenting on the transformation.
Even Catherine agreed and nodded her head subconsciously.
Despite their comments though, Xu Feng glanced at the reflection in the mirror with a satisfied smile, fixing his collar a bit to the center.
"The glasses look out of place, but they actually fit me quite well." He calmly said, adjusting his glasses.
These old rectangular glasses had been with him for years, and when he changed them to contact lenses in the past timeline, his perspective had undergone a huge change— one that he wasn't proud of.
'If I'm going to change to contact lenses, then it'll be the time when I can finally make an impact.'
