Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 132: Bountiful Return

Chapter 132: Bountiful Return

Knowing that if the battle were to be prolonged any further, Xu Feng managed to snatch the corpses of the drakes into his inventory before the blinding duration faded.

By the time the drakes regained their vision, he had already glided down from the cliff, using one of the wings of the drake's corpse.

He exited in a swagger manner after the chaos he had caused.

'It's a pity, but having killed quite a few was enough.' Xu Feng thought to himself.

Although it was a shame to leave without killing more after using so many resources, he was content with the bountiful return.

The habitat of the drakes on this cliff could be considered crippled already. Not to mention, their pyrites and alpha drake were slain by him.

"They are no longer a threat." He turned around, glanced at the high cliff, and muttered softly.

Meanwhile, on the cliff, the drakes who finally regained their vision roared in agony and fury when they realized the intruder had escaped.

Their cries echoed through the valley, a chorus of pain and frustration.

They circled the area, searching for any sign of the intruder who had wrought such devastation but found nothing. The alpha drake's body was gone, along with other dead drakes.

Their leader was dead, their numbers decimated, and their once-impenetrable home was now vulnerable. The younglings, confused and frightened, huddled together, their usual playfulness replaced by anxiety and uncertainty.

As for the remaining adult drakes, they were driven by a mix of rage and grief. Some of them attempted to organize themselves, but the loss of their alpha had thrown them into disarray.

During the disarray, one drake, slightly in better condition than the rest, flapped its wings and roared loudly, causing the rest of the drakes to stay silent.

What followed was another series of roars, and the drakes lowered their legs, seemingly kneeling to the new alpha leader of the pack.

While the drakes slowly reorganized themselves and started to tend to their wounds and weakened scales from the corrosiveness, Xu Feng was dashing out of the Embercliff Caverns.

He wasn't afraid of the drakes chasing after him, given the damage he had dealt to them. Instead, he was afraid of other nearby drakes on other cliffs.

After all, there were numerous cliffs in the area, and most of them naturally had multiple drakes habituating. With the commotion they created, there was definitely going to be an in-fighting among the drakes to consume another pack.

Therefore, Xu Feng needed to exit the area before he got embroiled in a large internal fight.

It was only when he had officially left the Embercliff Caverns region did Xu Feng relaxed a bit.

"Haaa, that was definitely the most action I have done in a while." Xu Feng panted heavily and retrieved a few liquid drinks to consume and rehydrate himself.

His actions today might be deemed immoral or dishonorable by some who might feel pity and sympathy for the drakes. After all, the drakes didn't offend or provoke him in any way, but that was just incorrect thinking.

Just like how the drakes went hunting for food, Xu Feng was merely doing the same thing, albeit with a different cause. Nevertheless, the food that the drakes hunt was innocent as well, but didn't they succumb to their death?

At the end of the day, this was just how the vicious cycle was in the wild. Not to mention, many players were here as well, actively seeking and killing monsters to level up.

The only difference was that the ones Xu Feng attacked had some form of intelligence and emotional aspect.

'Time to return.' He glanced at the sky and thought. This one adventure was a bountiful return and he managed to gain a lot of valuable drake corpses, especially the alpha leader.

Pity, regret, and sympathy were feelings for the weak. If you weren't weak, then how could you feel those emotions?

His naivety in the past had caused him to feel many of those emotions, but since life decided to give him a second chance. Xu Feng would condemn himself personally if he allowed himself to be in that kind of situation again.

Sometime later, Xu Feng returned to the Ironwood Treant area, searching for Zhao Kai.

To his amazement, he still heard multiple shootings, and unlike previous, the shots were consistent and in 3 seconds of interval.

He walked a bit forward and saw Zhao Kai shooting at an Ironwood Treant.

Shot after shot, Zhao Kai managed to hit a consecutive 12 critical flesh points before failing on the 13th. A large improvement from his previous time.

CLAP!

CLAP!

Xu Feng clapped his hands softly upon seeing his drastic improvement and praised, "You really do have a talent for spotting those critical flesh points, Shadow Blade!"

Even back in the past timeline, Xu Feng was amazed by Zhao Kai's rapid improvement in the game as a Gunner. Hence, it was still a mystery for him to ponder why Zhao Kai would suddenly choose the Gun Knight class in this timeline.

"Tsk, are you really complimenting me?" Zhao Kai clicked his tongue, placed his Ironbolt Rifle on his back, and turned to him. "I can only land 12 hits before failing, but you managed to get to the 3 digits."

"That's impressive already." Xu Feng chuckled and shook his head.

"You need to stop comparing yourself to me. It'll probably be impossible for you to ever catch up to my skills." He added, bragging quite a bit in front of him.

Of course, he only bragged because it was Zhao Kai.

Had it been any other folks, then Xu Feng would merely keep silent and conceal his ability.

Naturally, Zhao Kai also understood this concept and knew that Xu Feng bragged on purpose to tilt him.

"Hmph, just you wait, Feng! The day I surpass you is the day you will cower in front of me. You hear me?" Zhao Kai crossed his arms and sneered.

Nodding his head, Xu Feng smiled gently, "I shall await that impossible day then."
