Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 205: Distribution

Chapter 205: Distribution

After Carmen rested enough, Xu Feng smiled amicably at her and said, "Are you ready to check on our drop loot?"

"Drop loot?" Carmen raised an eyebrow, clearly forgetting about the reward that monsters often dropped when killed.

"Yeah, the Skyrazor Harbinger could be considered an overlord here, so its drop loot should be amazing." Xu Feng calmly explained.

A few seconds later, Carmen, who seemed uninterested earlier, suddenly flashed a cheerful smile.

"What are we waiting for then?" She exclaimed, extending her hand out and holding his arm, dragging him to rush toward the Harbinger's corpse.

Speechless, Xu Feng could only increase his pace to match up with her, avoiding the possibility of tripping over the rocky terrain.

"How's the loot, Jeff?" Carmen released her grip and asked Jeff, who had been safeguarding the loot and the surroundings.

As for the intention of taking the loot for himself, it was impossible.

After all, Jeff was bound by the contract he signed, meaning even if he wanted the loot, it would be impossible for him to get it unless Carmen designated some to him.

Of course, it had to be done willingly and not through coercion or threat.

This was the main reason why mercenaries were popular and in high demand.

Aside from their high success rate of completing a commission, their integrity can also be trusted due to the contract effect.

"There are 5 Common, 3 Superior Common, 6 Uncommon, and 2 Superior Uncommon equipment in total," Jeff reported frankly, almost as if he was disinterested in the loot itself.

"That's amazing!" Carmen, however, was exhilarated to hear the loot drop reward.

"Huh, after all that work and not a single Rare equipment." Xu Feng twitched his brows, clearly displeased by the loot drop.

The Harbinger was slain at the cost of his "sacrifice," so how could he not be displeased by such mediocre rewards.

"Hey, can you not act like that?" Unamused, Carmen turned to him with a fierce expression.

"These are the loot drops that we obtained in our first tough battle. We should be happy about it, especially when these rarities are scarce." She scolded, exasperated by his reaction.

"..."

'Was this really the Lunar Wraith?' Xu Feng was starting to wonder if he had mistaken her for someone else. Continue your journey with m|v-l'-NovelBin.net

"Since that's the case, then you can have all the equipment as a welcoming gift to my future guild." He exclaimed, taking this chance to officially sign her in.

Alas, Carmen might look easy to deceive on the surface, but her wariness was through the roof.

She shook her head and refused his offer almost immediately. "These loots are earned by us three, so we need to split them among us equally."

Carmen then began splitting the loot and continued, "Jeff and Feng did most of the work, so each of you will get 1 Superior Uncommon equipment. The 6 Uncommon equipment will be split into 3, with each of us getting 2. As for the Superior Common, we'll each get one while for the Common, I'll get 1 and you guys will get 2 each."

"I also get to have the loot?" Before Xu Feng could respond, Jeff was alarmed as he pointed at himself.

It was clear that he didn't expect he would have a cut in the loot despite having the most contribution.

That was his mercenary duty, so according to the norms, he wouldn't get anything.

Meanwhile, Carmen held a solemn expression and flatly said, "You did the work, so of course you will get rewarded."

Hearing that, Jeff unconsciously turned to Xu Feng, clearly recognizing him as the true commander of this team.

Silent for a brief moment, Xu Feng simply adjusted his glasses and said, "Since that's what she wants, then we shall do it that way."

"Yahoo!"

Jeff instantly erupted in cheer and excitement, practically dashing toward the loot, his eyes glistening in joy as he got to have an equal share. At the same time, his admiration for Carmen soared tremendously.

How could he be so rude to her previously?

She was practically a goddess.

Just when he was about to grab some of the equipment, Xu Feng suddenly smacked his hand slightly with his staff.

Startled, he turned around and held a dazed expression.

"The loot will be shared but I get to choose who will get what." Xu Feng coolly said.

"Right, of course." Jeff nodded his head and smiled foolishly, clearly not in disagreement with the arrangement.

Just being able to get a share of the loot was good enough.

As Xu Feng waved his hand and told the latter to guard around while he calculated the distribution, Carmen slowly walked toward him.

"Did you have to smack his hand?" Carmen whispered.

"This is to warn him who is still in charge of the team." Xu Feng calmly explained. "Distributing the loot is fine, but when you say it like that, you will create a misconception that he can have a voice in the future arrangement."

"But we're a team."

"Yes, a team with Jeff as a hired mercenary. He's being paid and signed a contract whereas we do not have such a contract."

When Xu Feng saw the ignorant look of Carmen, he sighed softly.

"Don't you know players are hard to trust?" He questioned, reminding her of their first death.

Instantly, Carmen's mood soured, pursed her lips, "Yes, players are despicable, but you're not one of them, right?"

"Oh, trust me, I am beyond despicable." Xu Feng corrected.

"But that also depends on who the person was. Just know that in such a situation, especially when you're in the open field, loot such as this can never be distributed equally. There would always be a big fight."

"Isn't that unethical then?" Carmen was dumbfounded.

As soon as she finished saying that, Xu Feng flicked on her forehead and sneered.

"Ethics are pointless in this world. I'll have you know, that if there's a world boss event happening, even if you are the person or team that made the killing blow or did all the hard work. It's not guaranteed that you can even leave the field alive from the rest of the players."
