Chapter 971 – Advent of Firmament
“Guild Leader, don’t mess around!” Blackie panicked at Shi Feng’s words. “That’s Evil Sky City we’re talking about!”
Since the war among the three races began, everyone in the Eternal Realm had come to truly understand the might of royal powers. More specifically, anyone who failed to understand this wouldn’t be able to survive out in the fields.
As mighty as the human race’s various apex powers were, even they could only rely on their resurrection camps to resist Evil Nature’s harassment in the World Ark. None dared to take the fight to Evil Sky City, Evil Nature’s base of operations in the World Ark.
Although Blackie believed in Shi Feng’s strength, it’d be suicidal for Shi Feng to confront Evil Nature now. The two were on completely different levels.
“I know what I’m doing. Just gather the players I need,” Shi Feng said. He understood Blackie’s concerns, but he didn’t bother to explain himself. “Also, have them sign a confidentiality agreement regarding the entire operation.”
The Inferior Legendary Siege Weapon Firmament!
This was, without a doubt, Zero Wing’s ultimate trump card. It should never be used unless absolutely necessary. Its first deployment should be used to deal as much damage to the enemy as possible. Otherwise, once the surprise factor was lost, the enemy would be on guard against it and likely flee as soon as they learned of its deployment. After all, the enemy would have to be stupid to face an Inferior Legendary Siege Weapon head-on.
Originally, Shi Feng had intended to reveal Firmament’s existence at a critical moment during the war to deal a devastating blow to Evil Nature. However, now that the Ominous Cavalry had spat on his face, he’d have reincarnated twice for nothing if he still chose to hold his nose.
…
World Ark, Evil Sky City:
Despite being a newly built city, Evil Sky City had already developed from a Basic City into an Advanced City under Evil Nature’s management. Its size rivaled that of medium-sized NPC Cities in the Eternal Realm, and its population of Holy Race players exceeded ten million.
Evil Nature also spared no expense in fortifying the city’s defenses, lining the city wall with Advanced Defensive and Offensive Constructions. The city wall was also made with Divine World Sand, a rare material in God’s Domain.
Due to the interference of the Divine World Sand’s World Laws, even if Evil Sky City lost its defensive magic array, Tier 6 players wouldn’t be able to fly or jump across the walls; they could only enter the city through the city gates. Combined with the city’s defensive magic array, the city wall could withstand attacks from Ancient Gods under Level 240. Evil Sky City was superior to many of the Eternal Realm’s NPC Holy Cities in defense.
Inside a high-class bar in Evil Sky City…
“Boss Mad God, we really showed it to Zero Wing this time!” Half Night, the Ominous Cavalry’s vice commander, said excitedly as he raised a bottle of the bar’s most expensive malt liquor. “Of the 600-plus elite members we killed, close to 400 of them probably suffered a true death! We even earned enough merit points to buy you an Advanced Legendary Flying Mount! With this, your strength can be considered above average even among Level 230 Ancient Saint-ranked experts!”
The other Ominous Cavalry members in the bar congratulated Solitary Mad God as well, their excitement no less than Half Night’s.
“I already said that I would pay Zero Wing back tenfold.” After downing a mouthful of malt liquor, Solitary War God confidently stated, “Now that I have the Void Screamer, I am confident I can kill Black Flame the next time I see him, so I want you all to keep an eye out for Black Flame’s whereabouts.”
“Boss Mad God, according to the intelligence we received, Black Flame is very elusive. Even if we ask other people, it’s unlikely we’ll learn of Black Flame’s whereabouts,” Half Night said before pausing momentarily. Then, he continued, “But I received a piece of news yesterday that might give you a chance to deal with Black Flame.”
“What is it?” Solitary Mad God asked curiously.
“The information comes from a friend of mine in Evil Nature.” After eyeing the other independent players nearby, Half Night said carefully, “It seems Evil Nature is planning to capture all of the human race’s resurrection camps in the core area. To achieve this goal, Evil Nature has recalled some of its experts from the frontlines. Among those experts are Frostclaw, the person you clashed with not long ago, and Fist Emperor, the 19th-ranked Eternal Chosen One.
“Zero Wing, Azure Fang, and the Red Dragon Nation all have members stationed in the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp. Once Evil Nature starts attacking the core area’s resurrection camps, Black Flame will most likely show up to defend the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp. We can use that opportunity to deal with him. I’m sure Evil Nature wouldn’t mind our participation.”
“Are you saying we should attack the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp with Evil Nature?” Solitary Mad God scratched his head at Half Night’s words, visibly annoyed. “It is indeed a good opportunity, but it’ll be troublesome if we come across Fist Emperor.”
“Do you have a grudge against Fist Emperor, Boss?” Half Night asked, looking at Solitary Mad God strangely.
Frostclaw and Fist Emperor were among the titles concocted by players fighting on the frontlines of the war. The title of Frostclaw belonged to Evil Nature’s number two chosen one, a player known by all in the Holy Race’s Greater God’s Domain. As for the title of Fist Emperor, it belonged to a rising star in the war.
In Half Night’s opinion, the Ominous Cavalry shouldn’t have dealings with such famous individuals. Not to mention, they were all Holy Race players operating in the Eternal Realm. With their common enemy being the human race, it’d be illogical for Fist Emperor to attack the Ominous Cavalry while besieging the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp. If Fist Emperor insisted on doing so, it would have to be because he had a grudge against Solitary Mad God.
“No, that’s not the case,” Solitary Mad God said, shaking his head. Then, a hint of fear colored his eyes as he continued, “Fist Emperor is a lunatic through and through. He despises having his fights interrupted by others. I first encountered him on the Western Continent before I established the Ominous Cavalry. At the time, he attacked me without warning simply because I stumbled upon his fight with another player. He wasn’t as strong back then, so we exchanged a few dozen moves with neither of us gaining the upper hand. If I hadn’t teleported away afterward, he’d probably have chased me to the ends of the world.
“Now that he has defeated Garuda and received Evil Nature’s support, I really doubt I can beat him, even with my current strength. If he happens to be leading the siege on the Blood Curse Resurrection Camp, he’ll definitely attack us should we dare to get involved.”
“What a lunatic.” Half Night was astonished as he listened to Solitary Mad God’s recollection.
Fist Emperor’s behavior of attacking anyone who stumbled upon his fights was simply absurd. Yet, such a lunatic ranked 19th on the Eternal Chosen One Ranking List. It would be an absolute nightmare for the Ominous Cavalry should it get targeted by this lunatic.
Just as Half Night was considering asking his friend from Evil Nature about which resurrection camp Fist Emperor was assigned to besiege, a loud bell suddenly rang across the city, causing the noisy bar to fall silent. Upon hearing this bell, Half Night and everyone else in the bar rushed out of the building without hesitation.
The ringing of the city’s bell often signified the appearance of an enemy planning to attack. It was also precisely because of this that everyone couldn’t help but wonder who would dare attack Evil Sky City.
When Half Night and the others exited the bar, they immediately spotted a gigantic sword-shaped mechanical construct hovering above the city. The sword was thousands of meters long and blotted out the sun as it gradually descended toward the city, creating a spectacular scene that shocked everyone in the city.
