Chapter 145 - Eldest Miss
Chapter 145 - Eldest Miss
"Your Highness, it is our honor to have you visiting our store today."
The manager said as he arrived at the front desk, where Jiang Yao and Luo Xiao were waiting patiently. Although Jiang Yao knew the way towards his own room, he also knew that these people would feel as if they had failed if they did not treat him as their ancestor.
Since they wished to show him hospitality, he was naturally not going to refuse, so he politely nodded his head. Although he did not say anything, the manager was already very honored by his appearance.
As soon as he had arrived, the manager had noticed Luo Xiao, but he had not said anything. He did not know the relationship between his highness and this young man, and he was not going to make any assumptions. It was not his position to try and pry into the seventh demon prince's private life.
As they arrived in the room, the manager handed over the menus before he bowed and left with a few instructions on how they could summon him after deciding upon what to eat.
"This place is quite different." Luo Xiao could not help but appraise the room as his eyes slid across the walls. Most of the restaurants he had visited alongside Jiang Yao previously had just been one large lounge where tables and chairs had been placed, making it so that everyone would dine next to one another.
While this was not the first time he had entered a separate room in a restaurant, the quality was much better here than anywhere else.
He could see that the paintings on the wall were all spiritual treasures imbued with energy with the purpose of calming those present.
There were two windows in the room, and both of them let a significant amount of light into the room, ensuring that it was not dim or gloomy.
A small incense burner was placed at the corner, releasing a fragrant smoke that made the air within the room pleasant. It was neither too heavy nor too light.
It was clear that this restaurant was amongst the best. Every little detail had been catered to, and Luo Xiao could instantly guess why Jiang Yao had picked this place.
The dishes on the menu were also all made from beasts that had gathered energy for many years. While their intelligence was not as high as those who could take on a partly-human shape, their flesh still provided the one who consumed it with energy.
Luo Xiao could not guess what precisely these fancy dishes consisted of. In the end, he could only chuckle as he left the menu to Jiang Yao and fully trusted his ability to order something that both of them would like.
"Your Highness, this is the Jade Fruit Juice. We got them this morning, and they were squeezed to order. There were only enough Jade Fruits to ensure that we could make this jar. It is only once or twice we manage to procure some of the Jade Fruits."
Jiang Yao had ordered the best juice that the restaurant owned for Luo Xiao, and even he was surprised when he heard that they had managed to get him a whole jar of Jade Fruit Juice.
He was extremely pleased and nodded his head in approval. "Do not worry; I will make it worthwhile for you to use the Jade Fruit Juice on us."
The manager was delighted to hear this promise, and the smile on his face spread from one ear to the other. He repeatedly bowed before handing a jar of wine to Jiang Yao.
"This is the Thousand Spirit Wine which Your Highness usually enjoys. We will bring the dishes as soon as they are done."
Having said this, the manager retreated from the room humbly, but he could not hide the happiness within his soul.
Unfortunately, things were not that simple. As soon as he left the room, he found that another extinguished guest had appeared. Although Cloudsoar City was the capital of the Demon Empire, it was not only the Royal Family that was considered supreme here.
While it was confirmed that they were the overlords and that others had to avoid troubling them at all cost, some of the noble families were also very powerful in their own right.
This woman, who had blocked the manager, was the eldest miss of one of these noble families. Her family had long since decided which faction to belong to, and they stood firmly on the Fourth Demon Prince's side.
Even so, everyone knew that this Eldest Miss had a great crush on Jiang Yao. She had been shamelessly trying to seduce him for many years, but he had never given her any attention.
In the beginning, many had expected that the fourth prince would admonish her for trying to seduce his enemy, but they soon found that he did not care.
Those who were trying to watch a joke all had their own theories. Some thought that it was for the sake of trying to control him through her; others felt that it was because the fourth prince did not believe that the two of them were possible.
However, the fourth prince never announced his reasons, and many lost their interest. Even so, the Eldest Lady never gave up her pursuit.
The manager felt his head hurt when he noticed her arrival. He knew that Jiang Yao was within the room he had just exited, but he was alongside a guest. It was naturally unsuitable for this young woman to burst through the door and interrupt them.
