Rest In A Demon’s Embrace

Chapter 113 - Stubborn

Chapter 113 - Stubborn

Jiang Yao was at a loss. This was a ruthless approach by Luo Xiao. This was the carrot and stick strategy.

He was stubborn about increasing his strength, adamant about ending up not being protected by slowly advancing step by step.

This stubbornness was making him unhappy, but he was unable to display the unhappiness because his heart was currently bursting with joy from the way he was calling him so intimately.

How could he be angry at his little lover? It was impossible to do anything to him, even though he was directly rebelling against him. It seemed that in the future, it would be Luo Xiao, who was the one calling the shots.

Luo Xiao seemed meek and easy to control, but he had now realized that it was only as long as he was willing. When he was unhappy, no matter what Jiang Yao said, he had no chance to change his opinion.

Sighing, he could only smile wryly and take a step back. "I am sorry. I won't make the same mistake again, but Xiaoxiao, if I see that you cannot hold on, then I will step forward and save you. I can let you train, and I can accept some injuries, but nothing too serious."

Luo Xiao nodded his head and accepted the compromise. He would also be delayed if he ended up too injured, and as long as Jiang Yao gave him the chance to fight, then everything was good.

Seeing that his little lover was no longer unhappy, Jiang Yao heaved a heavy sigh of relief. He was not used to the stern expression on Luo Xiao's face, and it even caused him to be slightly uncomfortable.

He had not put much thought into killing the beast. He had not considered that it would be a good sparring partner for Xiaoxiao; he just wanted to wipe out the beast from the earth's surface before it could taint his little lover.

But he understood Luo Xiao's urgent need to grow stronger. When he was younger, he was dancing with death every day, often more than once a day.

One of the factors for his high cultivation base was naturally that he was a genius, but the truth was that it was not only the talent that mattered.

There were numerous talents in the world, but only if one coupled it with hard work, and refused to back down was it possible to truly become someone great.

Jiang Yao was not stupid. He knew that although Luo Xiao was an Astral Soul, he would not become anything outstanding unless he walked on a path of corpses and blood. He would have to carve his own future out from the blood and sweat that he would shed on the road.

Sensing that Jiang Yao truly stepped down, and would allow him to train, Luo Xiao heaved a heavy sigh of relief. He was not happy arguing with Jiang Yao, but he wanted to stand firm on his decision. He had come here to train, not be protected by the Seventh Demon Prince.

"You lead the way," Jiang Yao said with a slight smile on his face. He was feeling some mixed emotions. Initially, he had not wanted Luo Xiao to do anything; he wanted to protect him, pamper him, and love him. But now he was aware that Luo Xiao was not willing to be sheltered by him. He wanted to stand tall by his side, and this knowledge was making Jiang Yao's heart beat rapidly and feel sweet.

Luo Xiao was not just a pretty face; he truly considered their future together. Since he was so serious, it would be wrong of Jiang Yao to stop him. In fact, he wanted to help him stand next to him, but he knew that Luo Xiao wanted to take it step by step.

Both Luo Xiao and Jiang Yao knew the importance of slowly accumulating their strength. If one grew at a rapid pace without enough time to get familiar with their realm, or fully integrating the energy into their system, they would have an unstable foundation, making their energy unreliable.

It did not matter if you were an external or internal Qi user; both of them would have the same issue with an unstable foundation.

The two began walking forward. This time it was Luo Xiao who took the lead, while Jiang Yao followed.

Luo Xiao strained his senses to their limits, and was extremely alert. Even so, he often looked behind him to ensure that Jiang Yao had followed him.

Jiang Yao had veiled his entire person, and no one, apart from the Demon Emperor, would be capable of noticing him.

He had used his powers to erase every trace of his presence, even making himself move in the shadows, so no matter how hard Luo Xiao looked, it was impossible to see the other's figure.

But Luo Xiao was not worried. Jiang Yao had promised to protect him if he encountered danger, and Luo Xiao trusted him with his life. He never doubted a word that Jiang Yao said, and loved him unconditionally.

Even if he was not near, he knew that he would be able to save him. Otherwise, he would never have begun wandering the surroundings.

Little did he know that Jiang Yao had not left his side; he was following in the shadows, ensuring that nothing went wrong, but giving Lou Xiao the space to train on his own.

The two advanced slowly. One was alert and vigilant while the other was calm and collected. Even so, Jiang Yao's eyes could not be wrested away from Luo Xiao's frame.

A tenderness grew in his heart. He would never let this young man leave him. Instead, he would happily watch as he slowly grew, and would stand shoulder to shoulder with him one day.
