Rest In A Demon’s Embrace

Chapter 115 - Jiang Yao Understands

Chapter 115 - Jiang Yao Understands

Jiang Yao was worried about Luo Xiao, but he was holding himself back. He knew that if he stepped forward now, Luo Xiao would get both angry and disappointed in him.

Although he did not doubt that he would be able to protect Luo Xiao, seeing him in a tight spot made him worried. He could sense the many beasts that were on their way, attracted by the shriek of the ugly beast, and the scent of blood.

But Luo Xiao was still stubbornly standing in front of the ugly beast, controlling the three hundred palm imprints, and bashing the ugly beast into a meat paste.

The beast was able to withstand the first few palm imprints, but they kept coming in massive numbers, and when one was blocked, three or four others would land on the beast, pushing it back, and making it even harder to defend against the remaining hand imprints.

As the ugly beast lost the chance to fight back, Luo Xiao heaved a sigh of relief. He continued to unleash the remaining palm imprints, and when he was completely sure that the beast was dead, he gathered the beast core, and rapidly left the area.

Jiang Yao raised an eyebrow in surprise. Luo Xiao was leaving the battlefield, and he was lucky enough to leave it in a direction where there were no other beasts advancing.

He could not help but wonder whether or not this was luck or knowledge. If Luo Xiao was capable of sensing such danger, then he was maybe not as easily bullied as Jiang Yao had initially thought.

Jiang Yao was no longer as worried, but he stayed vigilant as he slowly followed behind Luo Xiao as he made his escape.

Soon the sound of shrieks and growls could be heard behind Luo Xiao, but he did not look back. He knew that the beasts had arrived, and that they were likely fighting for the sake of eating the carcass he had left behind.

Luo Xiao was swiftly, but quietly, moving through the forest. He was constantly on high alert and observed the surroundings. His eyes were cold and not as gentle as usual.

He was here to train; he had to be serious about what he was doing, and could not afford to be gentle. Although he would not die as long as Jiang Yao was present, he wanted to prove himself.

Not only for himself, but he also wanted Jiang Yao to understand that he would not always drag him down. He wanted to prove his own strength.

The further into the forest he came, the slower his speed became as he was observing his surroundings.

Suddenly he turned to the side, and a giant snake appeared where he had stood before.

Poison was dripping from its fangs, and the eyes of the creature were looking at Luo Xiao as if it was looking at a delicacy.

Luo Xiao turned solemn. He had walked deep into the forest, and the beasts he encountered now were around the highest level he could handle.

In fact, he was not sure if he could handle this beast, but he would do his best.

Stalwart Shield Defense!

This was a defensive skill that he had learned from Jiang Yao. It shrouded his body in a shield that would block attacks. It would also block the poison.

Soul Reaping Palm!

The soul reaping palm was the most powerful attack that Luo Xiao had when it came to a single target. The Moon Goddess Hand was also mighty, but that was not suitable at the current time.

Luo Xiao had to move around to avoid the snake's attacks, and thus he could not afford to channel and control the numerous palm imprints.

Although some skills had better attack power than others, it was impossible to consider what was most suitable in the current situation.

Luo Xiao was throwing one Soul Reaping Palm after another, and the snake was retreating slowly.

Unlike the ugly beast, this snake was more intelligent. It managed to avoid some of the attacks, but it was getting annoyed as the Stalwart Shield Defense was blocking the attacks that were launched towards Luo Xiao, and even the poison could not corrode the defensive shield.

The battle dragged on, and neither the snake, nor Luo Xiao was willing to give up. Both of them were using all their energy to sustain the battle, Luo Xiao had already used quite a bit of energy to deal with the previous fight, and now he was in a stalemate with a snake.

Jiang Yao looked at Luo Xiao, who had sweat beading on his forehead, and his heart was aching.

Luo Xiao was fighting hard to stand by his side, and he had been trying to protect him. Still, now he understood that Luo Xiao did not only need his protection, but also his encouragement and help, to become stronger.

Seeing him struggling like this, Jiang Yao would usually have stepped up already and saved him, but he saw the tenacity in Luo Xiao's eyes and could not step forward.

It was as if something had glued his feet to the ground, and he could not step forward to end the battle, all he could was to observe the fight, and the struggle that Luo Xiao was putting up.

The sweat on his brow was growing more and more distinct, but he was gritting his teeth hard and persevering in holding back.

Both Luo Xiao and the snake had wounds all over their bodies, none of them were deep, but the cuts and wounds were still oozing blood, and the white robe on Luo Xiao's body had patches that had turned red.
