Chapter 385 Bruce
Chapter 385 Bruce
?
Behind the door was a spacious hall, seemingly filled with statues.
However, the hall was also quite dark, so it was difficult to get a good look without going inside.
Since they had been invited, Arthur, Carla and Bella immediately stepped towards the door.
They didn't stop their steps until they actually entered it and could finally see more clearly.
Most of the statues there were of women, they all had different appearances. The only thing in common was that they were molded very beautifully with a moon symbol on their foreheads.
When looking at one of them, one would probably think of the Moon Goddess.
Arthur guessed the statues were made by the Werewolves to depict their Goddess.
Unfortunately they also didn't know what the Moon Goddess actually looked like so each statue was different.
It's funny and strange because it could eventually lead to confusion as to whom they would worship.
However, the statues are not something to look at for too long.
Arthur quickly noticed a middle-aged man sitting on the sofa.
He had short white hair, a sharp handsome face, and a gaze so deep that it gave the impression that he was a man who was always serious, not fond of joking around.
Of course, it all seemed inconspicuous compared to his aura that made him seem like a giant who could regard humans as helpless little mice.
He was powerful, something that Arthur did not doubt.
He was most likely at a level equivalent to an Official Magus Second Stage.
In other words, he was in a higher realm than Arthur.
This was Arthur's first time meeting someone one level above him on earth.
The middle-aged man, Bruce, the Patriarch of the Werewolf Race immediately looked at Arthur. His eyes narrowed for a moment before he said, "a Official Magus so young, this is the first time I've seen it."
"Is that so?" Arthur replied.
He didn't lose his easygoing nature just because he was in front of the man, which was quite surprising to Pascal and Garson.
The middle-aged man didn't change his expression because of that. He invited Arthur to sit down.
The latter sat down immediately, but Carla and Bella remained standing. They were probably uncomfortable if they had to sit down.
"You said you know the two Werewolves in Vera, they should be Jonathan and his daughter, right?" he asked.
"You seem to know about them," Arthur replied.
"Our current clan really has few members, I naturally know even those who are no longer active in the clan," Bruce replied.
"I see, that's them!" Arthur nodded. "I happened to be at the same school as Professor Jonathan's daughter, and I accidentally found her secret. I later learned about Werewolf from them."
Since the man knew everything, there was no point in hiding it.
"What do you think of us?" He suddenly asked.
"Except for what happened today, I think you guys are truly beings born to be warriors. After all, it is rare for a group of people to sacrifice their lives to protect a world." Arthur was telling the truth and that was how he saw them.
"It's a duty from the Moon Goddess, something we are bound to," Bruce, the Patriarch replied.
"Not everyone obeys the orders given to them," Ciel replied.
"Indeed, but this is an order from our creator, so there is something that makes it difficult for us to refuse. Even those with bad personalities among us will still obey the order in the end when the time to do so comes."
"Ohhh..." Arthur felt strange after hearing that as there seemed to be something mysterious binding them.
This was something he didn't know because he also didn't have some kind of order from his creator.
And he thought a normal human like him was not a creature created by a certain being.
Perhaps it had a concept similar to the conquering magic he used on his beasts.
Only, it was not binding in an obvious way. It was more subtle but the effect was very obvious.
If there was no such thing, it was possible that they would take actions such as trying to rule the world.
"Right, didn't you talk about giving us money before?" asked Bruce.
It seemed that it was indeed so important to him that he wasn't ashamed to say it.
"Are you guys really short of money?" Arthur couldn't help but ask.
"I mean, don't you have a business that you're financially dependent on?"
Bruce shook his head in response.
"I don't know why, but all of our businesses always end up bankrupt. Instead of profits, we always lose. Even now we still have debts to some banks."
"Coug!" Carla and Bella almost coughed after hearing Bruce's words.
Their eyes were also almost wide open when they saw him.
This was indeed something serious, but it could be said to be very funny.
Arthur showed a strange look for a moment.
He couldn't guess why all their businesses always went bankrupt, whether they lacked the ability to manage a business.
However, if all they relied on was strength, it was indeed possible.
Smart people wouldn't work for bosses who relied too much on strength. Only gangsters like Brenton worked for them.
They are the kind who are more suited to robbing than managing a business.
"There's a movement these days," Bruce says again.
"A person from the Independent Dimensions, it is unknown what method he used, but apparently managed to reincarnate to earth and then built up great power."
"Who?" Arthur couldn't help but be surprised after hearing that.
He only knew Melly, but the girl hadn't built up some kind of power, she had just started practicing, and there was obviously nothing she could do.
If it can make the Werewolves panic, the power built by that person must already be very strong.
However, just after Arthur asked, Bruce suddenly looked at Arthur with sharp eyes.
"Actually, I want to know first whether you are really an earthling or also a reincarnator from those dimensions?" he said.
