Chapter 61 A Game
Chapter 61 A Game
?"It seems he's not here" Amanda said as she didn't find their captain among them.
She then asked Arthur. "Dear, what do you think?"
"Then let's wait for him." Arthur glanced at the door of the house and continued, "they shouldn't turn guests away, right?"
"Yeah, they always welcome guests, it's a basic rule for any business."
"Okay, let's go inside!" Arthur stepped towards the door which of course astonished the men.
The door was locked from the inside, Arthur casually touched it and it opened immediately. Amanda didn't even notice it was locked.
Contrary to Arthur's imagination, the living room was quite clean, with large sofas surrounding a table. In the corners of the room, there were several ancient urns, each of which was quite shiny, proof that they were skillfully made.
"How did you get in?" A question came from at the top of the stairs and it was from a woman with curly red hair. She had a tall build, pointed chin, pink lips, and a nose which enhanced the sharpness of her face. She was probably only in her early 30s, which was much younger than the men above.
She wore long jeans and a tight tank top, accentuating her curvy figure.
At first glance, she looks like any other sports-loving woman, but if you observe her closely, she doesn't just love sports, but has a strength that can't be attained by just exercising.
"Rose." Amanda called her name when she saw her, then she whispered to Arthur. "She's the captain's little sister."
Rose walked towards them with suspicious eyes when she saw Arthur. The latter didn't answer her question right away, he went over to the sofas and sat down on one of them.
The previous two men also descended into the living room. The first was Robin and the second, the one carrying the sniper was Ryan. They seemed to want to question Amanda's claim but because they had just heard Rose's question, they chose to remain silent.
"What's difficult? Just a simple lock." Arthur finally answered.
Amanda, who later realized that Arthur didn't just open the door, smiled faintly, she said, "Don't be curious, Rose! The Eastern proverb says that a woman who is curious about a man is not far from falling in love. I don't want to have rivals." She repeated what Isabel had told her since she had experienced it herself. Little did she know that she already had rivals, one of which was her own sister.
Of course, that she more openly said that Arthur was her man was quite impressive for Arthur. He wondered if she would dare say that to Isabel.
In fact, their relationship couldn't be called official either because Arthur had never said that she was his woman.
Rose's forehead creased at Amanda's words. She had lived in China, so she knew the saying better, but of course, she didn't take it seriously.
She didn't respond to Amanda, just continued to stare at Arthur. "It seems you have skills, so are you the one who wants to be the boss?" She asked.
"Yes." Arthur nodded without changing his expression.
"Hahaha, impressive, the youths nowadays really read too much fantasy comics." Robin laughed as he heard Arthur's confirmation. He approached him, looking more closely at his face. "Boy, do you think you are someone special like the main character in those comics, going to the mercenaries and trying to recruit them? And even if that's the case, you shouldn't come to us, you should start with the weak first."
"Why do you only mention comics, not novels?" asked Arthur.
"I only read comics, what's the fun of novels, just wordings," he replied.
"I see! Apparently because your intelligence is not enough to understand something that comes from wordings."
"You!"
"Given that you're only a member, you better not speak up or else you'll have to bear the embarrassment in the future for working for someone you look down on."
"Tsk! Tsk!" Amanda laughed. "Robin, you know I am not a braggart and am not one to come to embarrass myself. I suggest you take his advice so as not to endure too much embarrassment in the future."
When Robin was about to open his mouth again, Ryan nudged his hand, signaling him to wait.
Meanwhile, Rose who was knitting her brows sat in front of Arthur, she said "I see it, your confidence doesn't come from anything other than yourself, that you have the power to convince my brother since he only acknowledges strength."
"Yeah!" Arthur admits, something that is quite upsetting from other people's perspectives because he seems overly confident and looks down on other people.
"It's rare to meet someone interesting," Rose continued and she took out her cell phone. "I'll call my brother, tell him about you. Let's see if he comes."
She touched the screen of her phone before placing it next to her ear.
Two seconds later, she said "Hunter, a young man came with Amanda, he wants to be your boss, you should probably come back to see him."
"What kind of youth?" Hunter's voice resounded because Rose turned on her speakerphone, it had a special vibration, something normally present in a Beast's roar.
"Well, look!" Rose touched her phone screen again and then pointed the back camera at Arthur's face.
"What is this? A student?" Hunter sounded stunned.
Arthur who was in front of the camera didn't change his expression, he stared into the camera with calm eyes as he said, "I'm waiting for you, 30 minutes! If you don't come back, don't blame me if I destroy your house."
"Boy, you?" Robin nearly jumped at Arthur's words.
In fact, the rest of the men were gathered at the top of the stairs, looking down. They were naturally able to hear Arthur's words.
Destroy their house?
Even the mafias on this island dare not say that.
"You are so confident." Hunter's voice slightly calmed the situation that was getting quite heated.
"Alright, how about we make a game, as long as you actually manage to destroy my house, you will be my boss. —Rose, Robin, Ryan, have unarmed combat!"
"Okay!" Rose put her cell phone on the table without disconnecting the call with Hunter.
At the same time, her eyes that were originally calm started to emit the kind of light that usually appeared in the eyes of wild beasts when they hunted at night.
Robin was even more terrifying, he suddenly became like a fighting machine due to the sound of his breathing which became more and more louder with time.
