Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 66 Training

Chapter 66 Training

?Hunter returned nearly an hour later in quite a mess. Although he didn't have any serious injuries, there were many bird's beak marks all over his body, which of course weren't the harpies' beak marks as they would have penetrated through his bones.

Small cuts sometimes hurt more and with so many of them, they must be enough to make most men scream.

Hunter didn't scream, but he looked very gloomy.

He was returning to the village via the path behind it, so the first he encountered was Arthur who was writing there.

Perhaps it was because he was worried about offending him once again, so he tried his best to stay calm.

"Boss!" He greeted as he arrived beside Arthur. His tone sounded natural, he didn't seem to need any adaptation at all.

It was of course due to skill, not because he had such sycophantic traits that he could easily call others boss.

"How does it feel to be attacked by birds?" asked Arthur. He instantly deduced what happened just by looking at the condition of his body.

"It can't be worse than this, if it's only one or ten birds, I can still easily kill them, but there are two or three hundred, even if I carry an assault weapon, I will still lose," Hunter replied.

He was actually somewhat astonished because while he was talking to Arthur, he felt as if he were acting like a junior in front of a great general.

He thought that if other people saw him now, they would really think of him as a junior. It should be noted that he is probably the same age as Arthur's parents.

Right after he answered, Arthur threw five pieces of paper at him. They floated in the air irregularly but strangely, they landed on Hunter's hand.

The man looked at the papers and was immediately dumbfounded. He found strings of words describing things and various pictures of movements he had never seen.

"Is this a magic method?" he asked spontaneously.

"Read the first chapter up top," Arthur replied.

Hunter did as Arthur said, he then knit his brows while saying "knight?"

"That is a path other than magic, more suitable for you."

Hunter glanced at Arthur one more time before starting to read the contents of the papers carefully.

"By the way, have you ever heard of Evolvers or superhumans?" asked Arthur while Hunter was reading.

The man stopped reading because of the question. "I heard that there is research on it among elite organizations and some military institutions. I don't know how things are progressing now."

"The European Military Intelligence Division managed to do this, but we know that the European military is weaker, so it's likely that various other organizations have succeeded as well," Arthur replied.

Hunter's face froze instantly, he asked, "are you serious?"

"Do you know what they do after they become superhuman?" Arthur asked instead of answering. And he didn't wait for Hunter's answer, he continued, "they dueled against a wild lion using their bare hands. I bet you don't dare to do that."

Arthur smiled as he watched Hunter's expression change into various expressions. "Of course, maybe not everyone can become superhuman, but if there are over a hundred or even a thousand, you and your troops won't be taken seriously anymore. One of them can get you all screwed up."

He stood up after saying that. The others after noticing that Hunter had returned occasionally peeked into the backyard of the house, but they didn't dare approach when they saw Hunter having a serious conversation with Arthur.

As soon as he stood up, Arthur waved his hand and said, "gather here!" His voice wasn't loud, but spread far away, so all the mercenaries felt like he was speaking right beside their ear.

It gave them an unpleasant sensation and a sense of fear so they went straight to the backyard to meet Arthur who was calling out to them.

Before they got to him, Arthur had already thrown the book in his hand which was then torn into sheets of paper, flying to each of the mercenaries, even to Rose who had just arrived with Amanda.

One by one, the mercenaries read the papers in their hands. Although most of them make them doubt and confuse, some seem to succeed in making them feel like they know a new world.

"I won't explain too much... Before asking, try to understand first until there's something you don't understand even after ten minutes of thinking... Your combat experience should greatly help accelerate your success, later, use it as a foundation," said Arthur.

Understanding the methods of knight is not difficult. The content might be more but it's not something that hides various secrets.

The process wasn't as slow as becoming a magus either, what mattered was constant training to dig deeper into the body's potential, something most people couldn't endure due to how tiring it was.

However, with their foundation as soldiers for decades, they might be able to become Junior Knights today.

Arthur gave them time to understand the methods while answering some of their questions. Maybe around almost an hour, Hunter approached him.

"It seems I already know how to train until I become a Junior Knight," he said.

The so-called Junior Knight was the same level as an Apprentice Magus, divided into five stages and it was the same for all methods. In the end, it wasn't cultivating the Spiritual Core, but cultivating bodily strength and the mortal bodies of all humans were the same, so regardless of the method, the stages passed were the same.

"Good, you can start practicing, head over there," Arthur said, pointing to a tree far enough away so his training wouldn't be disturbed.

Right after him, Rose also succeeded, maybe she was faster but chose to wait first. Arthur didn't say much to him, just told him to quickly train.

As soon as all the mercenaries started training Arthur walked up to Amanda who he thought was hiding a bit of an oddity, as if she had doubts on something.

"What are you thinking about?" Arthur asked as he arrived in front of her.

The question spontaneously took the woman by surprise, but then shook her head hastily. "No, I was just thinking about some work," she said. At the same time, she took Arthur's hand, the smile returning to her face.

"How about we take a walk and have lunch, you must be hungry right? The goat restaurants here are very good, they always sell fresh meat." She didn't wait for Arthur's answer, immediately took a step while pulling his hand.

About how Arthur looked at women, she chose not to ask anything, her pride wouldn't allow her to do that. She only has two principles, take it and throw it away, and she chose the former.

How Arthur acted was his business, but she would make sure he would be her. Maybe it wouldn't work, but at the very least, she wanted to be the biggest owner.
