Chapter 2: Tutorial complete

Chapter 2: Tutorial complete

World of Trials is my unsuccessful novel that was said to get an 'Adaptation'. Well, it wasn't how I envisioned it to be... but my wish came true it got an adaptation, where am I exactly? Well I became a side character that I designed to be the embodiment of my personality

[Christoper Morris [Unregistered]

Overall capability:

• Knowledge: 10, Knows a lot about his enemy

• Mastery of chosen weapon: 1, You'll just have to swing this right?

• Balls: 3, Scaredy cat

• Power: 2, Weak as fuck

• Stamina: 1, Are you an old geezer?]

"Come at me you little freaks!!!," The three backstabbers approached him with the intent of ending his life

He wasn't physically and mentally prepared for his situation, but his knowledge was able to snap him out of his panic. He swings the lightweight sword at one of the monsters before he moves to his right dodging an attack aiming for his back. As their name says they mostly attack their victim through their back and he easily avoided a fatal blow

'They're too fast... I can't endure any longer. Fuck it's not because I ran like a sissy last night this is my overall speed and my stamina's shit! Luckily these monsters are balanced out even though this room only contains people with signs of recovery from illnesses. I'm really glad they balance shit out for the tutorial and I already know how they fight. I just need to time this correctly,'

The monsters regrouped after their failed attempt which gave him the needed time to recall his knowledge. After he finalized his plan, he charged forward holding his sword while the monsters disappeared from his view. He stopped and swung his blade onto his back where it met one of his sadistic adversaries fell to his blade

"Fuck yeah!" The unlucky backstabber had its head soaring to the air upon having contact with such a perfectly timed slice

[System: You've killed a monster the collected experience will now be given, currently applying level-up passive

Status: You've leveled up you gain 10 stat points and trigger the level-up passive; <[Restoration]>

Outcome: Any kind of injuries you had before have been healed due to the effects of the leveling-up passive!]

Once he'd heard the notification echoing through his head, the wounds from his back disappeared. His stamina was restored and a flow of otherworldly energy came through his body like he had never before experienced. For others, this was a momentous day of celebration but for Morris, it was the start of a climb through hell

'It's not a waste fighting these monsters even though it's a tutorial trial you can still die I remember adding the exp gain. A way to encourage them to fight and easily adapt to this game-like world where the core aspect I survival, stats can be gained. I'm pretty lucky im one of the few tasked to kill a monster, one of the tutorials needs you to kill a person. Luckily that only applies to a select bunch or the promising players such as my character who can get some early progression,'

"Graaaahh!!!!" The monster growled as they saw one of their kin fall for his attack. Their cries echoed through the room whilst they glared at the perpetrator. He had a beaming smile as if to taunt the monsters over the death of their fallen brethren. He raises his right hand gathers some air in his lungs and yells as loud as he can

"Don't get too emotional fuck face!!! You're the one who started it. At least you could've kept your composure," He flipped them off after he changed his tone and pointed his middle finger. His attempts were a success and he easily taunted them to attack. In response, he changes his stance. He lowers his body to the height of his enemy making his attack reach their small and feeble flesh

[Backstabbers - Just as the name implies they attack their prey on their blind spot which doubles their attack damage

Pros: Their appearance is a short and tiny gremlin-like monster, and because of that, their stat specialty is Speed

Cons: Being part gremlin they are one of the few monsters to understand players yet they're easily ticked and will attack if stimulated

Enraged: Taunting and provocation make their coordinated attacks more sloppy as they get angry but in doing so will increase their speed]

The monsters grow restless and their rage tarnished their ploys making their movements appear to be sloppy. Most of their attempts were miscalculated, which was accompanied by their ever-growing emotions. Their attacks weren't doing anything to him, at this point, they carelessly swung their daggers like a madman

"Dance in the palm of my hands," Morris on the other hand was dealing a ton of damage at their constant exchanges of blows

'It's working I just need to do the last step don't screw this up, Morris. Our lives are on the line. Just a little more and I can kill them,'

The monsters recovered their reasonings after they fell for his taunts. He remained steadfast and ready whilst his foe rallied together for their next attack. It was fast, it all happened in the blink of an eye when death seemed to draw near in his life

[System: A Game master has entered the tutorial! There's a peculiar anomaly hiding from the heaps of trash. The tutorial is changing by the authority of a certain Game master]

One attacked him from the front, while the other was hiding behind his back he waited for his destined moment. His life has been dangling in a fragile string for one single tug could it be easily broken apart with a single tug? But everything so far was planned from the beginning, it was never a bet for every move was embedded through his head

'Okay, after they fail on their full assault, they'll band together and strike thats perfectly in sync!!!'

He shows an opening when he purposely leaves his body open and the two monsters swing their daggers. They aimed for his head but failed to strike him down, he waited for this moment and evaded their attacks. He tilted his neck to the right, which left him with some cuts from their blade

'Checkmate... while you haven't fallen back to the ground your kind can't evade an attack from the air. Sucks to be you,'

The backstabbers were agile, but their speed was useless if they were away from the ground. It was a gamble and he could've lost his life if he was a second late, but his knowledge and the movement of his enemy played a big part. He used his remaining strength took a step forward, and swung his blade like never before.

It severed both the heads of the backstabbers with one swing before he fell to his knees."Thanks for the exp!"

[System: You've killed a monster the collected experience will now be given

Status: Your stamina and health has been restored

'Haaaah, there's nothing I can do in a long-term fight I can't survive if those guys aren't killing the monsters. I can use that wait... I can't I'll die if I get caught!! Why the hell did I even write that, as a rule, guess there's only one way,'

He walked away from the monsters after he regained his stamina and went to the middle area of the room. He takes a deep long breath followed by a yell at the top of his lungs catching the attention of the confused candidates. Everyone turned and faced him while others shook, prayed, accepted the inevitable, and waited for the final wave

"What I might say might be a little unbelievable. If you kill them you'll level up!! Running is inevitable, blocking as well you'll only tire yourself out!!!" He yells as loud as he can and the other individuals seem to hear what just uttered

Some of them tried to stand tall and hold onto their weapons and fought for their miserable lives. A few wished to run away without looking back, there were a few who stood alongside him and followed his lead. They survived even after the overwhelming number of their opponents wave after wave they fought alongside one another

"Shields keep pushing them back!!!"

Christoper told them about the monster's strengths and weaknesses and his choice turned the tides of battle in their favor. Regardless everything went downhill at the finale of the tutorial when heard a terrifying message. His body trembles in fear but it happened even though he told everyone to ignore a backstabber whose color was indifferent

[System: You've done well fighting them so far as we're generous to those who like fighting congratulations!!!

Status: You have unlocked the hidden boss of the tutorial trial known as the [Elder stabber]

Outcome: The tutorial <[White room]> is shaking upon the awakening and the collection of the sacrifices]

"Shit, did someone kill a different colored Backstabber? That's the only way this thing will trigger,"

He looked around his surroundings without any trace of a backstabber. But at the end of his search, he sees a floating entity holding a backstabber's head. This wasn't his first encounter with such an existence for one had already briefed them of their arrival

They were those who managed the World of Trials known by their names as administrators or Game masters. Entities that have the authority to bend the rules as they see fit to challenge the players and entertain the gods who oversaw this world. The only downside to them is that they can't see the stats of the players they're given to manage

The most worrisome thing of all was the entity standing before Morris, it was the entity Watchdog. The only entity that has the most humanoid appearance, aside from his head which resembles a dog. Out of every Game master, he was rumored to be the most terrifying one of them all

'No way it's him!!! Was he in charge of white room#3!!? It seems like I can't even have an easy way out of this tutorial trial,'

"It seems like a glitch has happened yet again... Tell me, how did a seasoned fighter like you get mixed within this heaps of trash? No worries I'll give you a harder challenge since you struck my interest," Watchdog changed the difficulty of the tutorial when he unleashed the hidden boss

[System: The tutorial trial <[White room's]> difficulty has changed from F -> E

Status: Due to the difficult changes, your body has been fully healed, and stamina has been restored

Balancing: A penalty will be given to the boss stats reduced from 50% to correspond to the weak player candidates

Hp:120 -> 60

Atk: 50 -> 25

Spd: 40 -> 20

Def: 60 -> 30

Mp: 0 -> 0

Stm: 50 -> 25

Outcome: Upon gathering the deaths the tutorial <[White room]> changes to <[Red room]>

Red room: Player attacks are doubled whilst decreasing defense]

'Seasoned fighter my ass!!? I'm too weak, I was just aiming for their weaknesses, screw you watchdog!!! I'm gonna die because of you,'

The Elder stabber began to move towards the bystanders whilst it swung its blade, which instantly hacked a dozen people. Once it destroys the formation he made to defend himself and the other players from those monsters is broken apart. Once it is finished, it moves to its location and swings its blade aimed at his head. He miraculously dodges at the right time and only receives a graze and his hoodie is torn in the process

"You mother fucker!!! This is my only decent hoodie and you tore it apart!!!" He stabbed its legs with his sword, making it scream in pain, and momentarily gave him some time to recover. The monster escaped from his sword and his advancement was put to a stop when he parried the attacks aimed at his vitals

"I was saving this for later but I guess it can't be helped status open," He said when he used all of his points to increase his chances of survival

[Christopher Morris LvL 3

Hp: 18

Atk: 5

Spd: 6

Def: 8

Mp: 15

Stm: 8

Stat points: 30

Overall rating: You're too weak to be here just die before you experience hell weakling]

[System: You've invested 19 points on Spd you've invested 9 on Atk updating

Status: Due to spending so much on a single stat you'll gain a temporary boost in speed till the end of the trial

Overall ratings: You've gotten a little faster than before even a little stronger yet you're still alive. I guess some trash would desire to struggle before listening to someone's advice]

The elder stabber stopped its bleeding and it came running towards his spot and prioritizes him before the others. He was recognized to be a powerful warrior leaving him with no time to prepare. The elder stabber thrust its dagger toward him but with his newly acquired speed, he was able to dodge a fatal blow

He avoided death but his enemy's blade left him with a deep wound near his abdomen giving him no choice but to fight. He parried another one of the elder's rapid thrusts with his blade making, the elder saw this as an opportunity to kill him once and for all. It enters a stance and Christoper felt every hair within him rise upon meeting the eyes of the Elder

[Alert: The hidden boss [Elder stabber] has activated the skill [Quick dash]

[Quick dash]: The wielder will dash to a nearby location... The chosen location is player candidate Christoper Morris's back!!!]

Before its dagger could strike him, a shield blocked his way held by his left arm as he escaped death once again. He repelled its daggers and launched a counterattack and the elder had no time to respond. The elder's footing was broken and that gave Christoper the edge and pin his shield on his vigorous foe

[System: Due to suffering from a deep wound near the abdomen the Player candidate Christoper Morris is bleeding

Status: Your health is dropping from 1 digit every 30 seconds!

Outcome: You only have 6 hp left!!!]

Using his remaining strength, he stabs the elder at its feet and completely cripples the monster if it tries to escape. He didn't stop stabbing the elder's head until he finally heard the announcement of its defeat and the recovery of his wounds. The white room was then filled to the brim with blood and only a few candidates surviving out of a hundred

[System: Congratulations you have made it to the finale of the tutorial trial!!!

Status: You are seen as worthy of participating in the world of trials you can now select the place you'll be teleported to

Options:

Guildhall - where you will have a chance to be scouted to be a part of a guild

Starter city - The place where you can start your new journey]

"Send me to the starter city," A rift was about to send him to the city but he was interrupted when Watchdog stopped him in his tracks

"I'm sorry about that dear player... Someone of your caliber isn't fit to be in that place, you have the talent to be scouted by the major guild. Why not reconsider your choices hmmm?" Watchdog's persuasion which was accompanied by a welcoming smile was sickening to his sight

'Talented...? If I didn't know their weaknesses I would've died like anyone else. I might've fooled you but I won't fool the deities they can see my stats and I haven't received an invitation. Even now they haven't shown any interest I guess they think I survived by a fluke and that's all there is to it,'

"I'm sorry but I don't want to waste any time idling around when I can just get stronger," He chose the starter city once more for his destination. Watchdog was disappointed when he was unable to interfere with the world. He can only watch his back when the portal takes him to the starter city where he begins his journey

[System: You've been successfully transported to the starter city]

'This world is the baddest bitch there is, it doesn't care nor will it take pity on its denizens and fuck us like we're nothing but whores. If I can't even get an invitation to be an avatar then I'm good as dead, I won't waste any more time, I have to get stronger... is this hell? My chance of redemption? Heck, do I even need a reason? How I'll act and what I'll choose that'll determine my destined fate,'
