Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 370 Nathasia's Resolve

Chapter 370 Nathasia's Resolve

She pressed her hand onto the floor as she tried to transmute the floor into spikes that could help her stop Deathclaw from attacking Damien any further and also take her down in the process.

But no matter how desperately she tried to exert all her energy, nothing was happening.

She felt her chest tightening when she saw Deathclaw beating Damien black and blue as if she was enjoying toying with him.

She couldn't understand why Damien was not using his powers to quickly take her down. In fact, right from the moment, they attacked this mansion, Nathasia was wondering why Damien never used his powers even once and only used his sword and gun to make his way in.

She thought that he was saving up his energy for something later, but only now she realized that he was unable to use his powers for a certain reason.

Otherwise, she didn't believe that Damien would let someone else toy with him like this.

This sight completely infuriated Nathasia, and suddenly she remembered Damien's advice, 'Your powers are only limited by yourself. If you believe in your powers, they will believe in you as well."

Nathasia mumbled his words in her mind, repeating to herself as she closed her eyes and thought, 'My powers have always been a part of me...but I tried to reject it and shun it...It's time I fully embraced it and not be afraid of it…'

Nathasia, who always felt apprehensive about even using her powers and had various inhibitions, suddenly felt those shackles loosening from her heart as a unique flow of energy flooded her soul and body.

"Fufufu, look at this devil. Hmph, so weak. And here I thought you would at least have a fighting chance against me," Deathclaw derisively said.

Damien was lying on the floor with bloodied claw marks on his back and a bruised face.

He gritted his teeth as the blood dripped from his mouth, feeling angry at himself for being so helpless, just like the time when he was unable to save Sofie.

However, he was feeling so fatigued in body and mind, he felt that there were no signs of his powers returning back to him.

"Aww? Little devil wanna say something, huh?" Deathclaw mocked as she kicked his stomach, making his body slide backward by a few feet.

Damien coughed out blood as her kick was too strong enough to make him feel like his intestines were shaken thoroughly.

Deathclaw slowly sashayed forward, feeling extremely excited and a sense of disbelief that the Crimson Devil was going to die in her hand.

At first, she wondered if this was an impersonator since she didn't expect the Crimson Devil to be this weak, even if he was experiencing some kind of weakness.

But now, it seemed no different than beating up someone who was slightly more troublesome than a well-trained soldier.

"You know what, I will end your pain right now and take your head as a trophy, fufufu," Deathclaw giggled as she stretched her fingers to land the killing blow.

She felt that this was quite anti-climatic and wanted an extravagant fight so that others would learn that she indeed killed the Crimson Devil and not some weakling impersonating him.

If he died too fast without much struggle, she felt that others might not believe her, considering how this man single-handedly took down military bases and even many powerful Ascended ones who were unable to leave behind a scratch on him.

"I guess I should at least be happy about the pay I am going to get from Merlin, huhu," Deathclaw said as she raised her hand and was about to slash down on Damien's neck.

"Huh?" But suddenly, her whole body froze up, and she saw blood dripping on the floor right below her.

When she looked at her body, her eyes went wide upon seeing that multiple wooden spikes extending from the floor had skewered through her body, including her chest, stomach, and legs.

"How…" Before she could complete her sentence or come out of her shock, her eyes became lifeless as her head drooped and blood continued to ooze out from her body, dying the floor red.

Damien, who was feeling quite dizzy because of his injuries and condition, came out of it as he slowly turned his head to see Deathclaw's blood dripping on his face.

"Huh…" Damien was equally puzzled like the late Deathclaw, wondering if he saw things right.

He clearly felt her killing intent, but then it suddenly disappeared, and here she was skewered by wooden spikes.

"Spikes…" Damien mumbled as his eyes lit up with realization about what happened. He looked behind Deathclaw to see Nathasia slowly getting up, but since his vision was a bit blurry, he couldn't see her expression clearly.

He couldn't believe that Nathasia really did it when he held no hope for her before to do such a big thing in a short amount of time. He was simply venting out his frustration and anger on her since he had no one else to vent it upon other than killing people.

But now, seeing those large wooden spikes extending out from the wooden floor, he felt that he might have misjudged her determination and personality.

Even though his vision was blurry, he could see her walking towards him in a languid manner as if she was too tired to walk but was somehow struggling.

Nathasia had a soft smile on her face seeing how she was finally able to kill Deathclaw before she could kill Damien.

Seeing how she made those wooden spikes, she felt proud of herself and also thankful to Damien for giving her a piece of advice that helped her throw away her apprehension regarding her own powers.

Even she couldn't believe it that she was finally able to do what Damien told her to at the nick of time.

But she felt very drained and wondered if it was because of how tired she already was before.

She walked up to Damien, and seeing his injuries, she bit her lip as she asked, "Can you get up?"
