Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 420 - An Unexpected Problem

Chapter 420 - An Unexpected Problem

The Shizar King himself accompanied the two as he walked towards the throne hall, making Damien a bit confused, wondering why he was going towards the throne hall unless…

Outside the large doors of the hall stood men and women with silver masks, which meant that these people were only below the highest rank cultivators in the Forsaken.

He remembered that black masks were worn by amateurs and silver masks by the ones who supervise these amateurs, while blue masks were worn by those who were tasked with important missions.

Of course, Triton had a sky blue mask which symbolized the highest rank as well.

But seeing these silver masked people, Damien was sure that the one sitting inside was at least a blue masked person and had a guess about who it could be.

"Is there any problem, Your Majesty?" One of the silver masked men asked in a gruff tone, not bothering to even show a shred of politeness, making Damien frown a bit.

The Shizar King gave a shaky smile and said in a soft voice, "I wanted to request an audience with Lord Shade for Prince Tristen and his friend."

Damien was surprised to see the little king acting so pitiful and even having to ask permission just to enter his throne room.

He knew Triton or Irene, his grandmother, would never condone such arrogant acts even if they wanted to take over a kingdom. They would rather dethrone the king properly rather than keep him as a puppet and humiliate him like this. Otherwise, even if they wanted this little king to be a puppet, they wouldn't mistreat him like this, especially a kid.

This made Damien even more eager to know who exactly was inside the throne room and hoped it wasn't the person he guessed in his mind.

"Lord Shade is preoccupied right now. You can try some other time," The Forsaken member said curtly as if he couldn't bother to talk with the little king anymore.

*Click!*

But right then, the door opened, and a man in his twenties, wearing a blue mask, came out with two beauties in his hands who seemed like they were maids.

"Oh, the little king is here? How could I be of service, Your Majesty?" The blue masked man asked in a sarcastic tone, making the little king's expression a bit unsightly.

Damien frowned when he saw this blue masked man, and based on the tone and his bearings, he recognized him easily as Drake Haley, Yara's elder brother who tried to cause him trouble back when he was trying to teach the Forsaken kids.

But this made him wonder what Drake was doing here and why he was acting so unrestrained without anyone to supervise such a character. If it was him, he surely wouldn't give him any important missions like seizing a kingdom, and most of all, he wouldn't be even giving him a blue mask in the first place.

This guy was definitely bad news, and Damien was already thinking of his next moves.

Drake then saw the two young men standing behind the little king and said, "Prince Tristen? I was surprised by your sudden request for diplomatic talks, and I would really like to entertain you two though as you can see, I am a really busy man. But...I am willing to make an exception as long as our little king here can fulfill a humble request of mine. So long then. Come, ladies."

'Shit. This is bad…' Damien inwardly frowned in disgust as he saw Drake walking away and didn't even bother to pay Tristen any respect, even with his status. So he could only imagine how the little king was being treated.

Still, he wondered what Drake meant by saying that he wanted the little king to fulfill some request.

He turned around to ask but saw that the little king was clenching his fists tightly, and his expression seemed as if he was trying his best to stifle his anger about something.

Still, he made Tristen ask, "Your Majesty, what did he mean by this request?"

The little king's expression became difficult, but then he said in a low voice, "Let's talk somewhere alone."

Damien followed them while wondering if Triton or Irene had any idea about what Drake was up to here. He was also sure that all the Forsaken people here were Drake's cronies since otherwise they would have already reported to Triton, and he would have come here personally since he wouldn't surely condone what Drake was doing here.

He decided to use Triton's messaging talisman later and ask him what was really going on and why they were so interested in occupying this kingdom.

At the same time, he also tried to think of any backup plans since he didn't quite expect Drake to be the only one being the leader of this band of Forsaken people sent here, making any confidence he had before in taking care of this problem falter.

The easiest solution he could see was to somehow inform Triton or his protectors to at least show their face here and put Drake back into his place.

If Damien had the choice, he would have killed Drake already since keeping someone like him alive was surely a red flag for future trouble.

However, the Haley family was no pushover, and he was still a part of the Forsaken. Getting rid of him wouldn't be easy unless he could find the right opportunity though now the chances seemed bleak, especially when Drake had his own men around him.

The little king invited the two to the royal study room where no one else was present, and without even sitting down, he looked at Tristen and said with a desperate look, "Prince Tristen...would you please do me a small favor?"

Damien raised his brows, wondering what was troubling the little king so much for him to ask for a favor in such a pitiful way.
