Kena shook her head as she answered, "It's not as simple as that. Even if we could come, your home is too small for us. It won't be long before overpopulation would end up causing issues if the entire island doesn't die first. I am sure you all must know that the Land of Salvation was never a permanent solution for Anthon Vahn. It was just a desperate attempt at saving a small portion of powerful people to find a solution to fight the ghouls without getting attacked by them. They thought they could probably build some weapons without the interference of the ghouls, but alas, nothing like that happened."
"Then how did you send Farah through the barrier? If she could do it, then couldn't the ghouls do it?" Reva asked since she was still worried about her people back in the Rising Sun Continent.
Farah chuckled as she said, "That's because Anthon Vahn had left behind certain loopholes to let us cross the barrier. But since he was afraid this information could fall into the wrong hands, he made the loopholes in strict conditions. For instance, nobody stronger than my current cultivation could enter through the barrier. This is why I had to suppress my own cultivation to this pathetic level to enter the barrier."
"So your current cultivation is not your real one?" Lily asked in a surprised tone while wondering what her real cultivation was.
Farah said with a smug look, "Of course not, dear. Once my leader helps me get back to my real cultivation, you will know."
"Other than just the cultivation of a person, Anthon made it such a way that only a single person can enter in between a long timeframe. So we did always send one of our soldiers to the other side over thousands of years to keep watch and report to us if anything suspicious was going on. They never did anything on their own, and so you all never had any idea. But this time, we knew the Ghouls were up to something, and thus Farah's mission was different from her predecessors," Kena explained.
All four of them were surprised to know that people from the Old World had been visiting their continent all these centuries without them realizing it.
They wouldn't even have known about Farah's origins if not for Damien disrupting her plans.
"But Anthon was right to fear that the information of these loopholes might land in enemy hands. After all, we all know that these Ghouls somehow passed the egg of a Fiend to Ruthren, which he used to almost kill all of us," Yuria said with a cold glint in her eyes since she remembered how her father almost died because of Ruthren.
Alex nodded as she finally spoke, "That is indeed a cause for worry. But I will try my best to find out how they did it, Leader," Alex said as she looked at Kena.
Kena waved her hand before placing it on Alex's shoulders, "Forget about it. You have been working and fighting without a break for a long while. It's time you took a break lest you burn out and become a burden to others."
Alex raised her eyebrows as she zealously said, "But Leader, I am perfectly fine. Please let me—"
Kena's gaze became determined as she said, "This is an order, Alex. It's not like I am telling you to lay low permanently, nor am I telling you to do nothing. Instead, your job during your break would be to train these four geniuses and make sure they come up to speed on everything. These four are young, yet they have already reached the peak back in their home. So I have no doubt these four could tap into the potential with your help."
Yuria and her sisters felt relieved that these people were being supportive, and even their leader was assigning someone powerful as Alex to train them personally.
All of them had seen Alex in action, and she was the one who dealt the killing blow to that giant snake daemon.
Even Valentina wasn't feeling as wary of them as before since she was not feeling any air of hostility from them or their words.
She also knew that getting more powerful was the priority now since she and her sisters weren't strong enough to venture out in search of Damien.
They might have been the strongest back in their home, but here they could end up as prey to dangerous monsters that dominate this world.
Alex nodded helplessly since she could see that Kena was very adamant about this.
Yuria squinted her eyes, feeling even more sure that something was probably going on between this Leader and Alex.
But since it was none of her business, she didn't keep thinking too much about it.
Kena let out a soft sigh of relief after seeing Alex agree and then looked at the four women, "I hope you all have said goodbyes to the people you all had to leave behind since from now on, we are your home."
Valentina wasn't close to anybody else back in the Rising Sun Continent, so she never had to say goodbye to anyone, while Lily had lost the only family she had and thus, all she did before she left the Rising Sun Continent was by leaving her Will behind to let her people know who will be looking after them after she leaves.
She wrote her will in such a way that her little half-brother would inherit the empire after he grows up and if Irene deems him worthy. Until then, Irene would be the regent who would take care of her empire till then.
As for Reva, she had already said goodbye to her grandparents right before they crossed the barrier, especially since the two were with her till the last moment.
"Goodbyes, huh…" Yuria mumbled as she remembered how she said farewell to her father.
—
"Yuria…you really cannot stay for some more time?" King Krisen asked in a weak voice while resting on a bed, his severed arm bandaged.
He had only recovered his consciousness but only to have his heart clench upon hearing his only daughter say that she would be leaving home and might never come back.
King Krisen knew that nobody could come back after they crossed the barrier and that this would be the last time he would be seeing his daughter.
He knew he would have to let her go, but he never expected this moment to come so early.
Yuria's lips quivered as she said with teary eyes, "I-I am sorry, papa…*sob*...I really don't want to leave you, especially not when you are like this. But…our home is in danger, and Damien is using himself as bait to save us. So how could I simply sit still?"
King Krisen looked up as he tried to prevent himself from tearing up, "I understand. You have a husband now. You are no longer the little girl I had to always take care of. I also know that you are far more mature than your age. Maybe I never realized it until now," King Krisen knew that he had to do the right thing as her father, and so he continued, "So, go…Your husband is your god, and you are his soul. May you two and your sisters be happy forever. I will love you always, no matter what."
"Papa…" Tears trickled down her cheeks as she hugged her father one last time. Her heart was breaking, but this time she found relief in the fact that her father would be safe here, unlike last time.
