Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 106

Chapter 106

106 Elisa and Serena

Meanwhile, a woman with long black glittering hair was inside a luxurious room. She, however, had her hands clenched into a fist and a deep frown could be evidently seen on her face.

She took a deep breath, “Calm down, Serena. You have handled much more difficult situations than this, you just have to figure out a way to deal with this.” Serena said.

Serena shut her eyes closed, trying to concentrate on how she was going to deal with the problem she was encountering, when suddenly, she heard a knock at the door.

“Urgh! What is it now?”

At first, she ignored the first door knock, but when she heard the second and then the third, a bone-chilling frown was quick to appear on her face.

Serena opened her eyes and then walked to the door. It only took her a few seconds to arrive at the door from her bedroom, and once she was in front of the door, she opened it.

“Y-You...” Serena stuttered when she saw the person who was at the door. “What are you doing here?”

The person at the door was Elisa, and when Elisa saw Serena, she flashed a rough smile.

“May I come in?”

.....

Serena nodded her head and then moved away from the door.

With a slight nod from Elisa, she walked into the room. And as Elisa stepped in Serena’s eyes were glued to her the whole time seemingly dumbfounded by what Elisa was doing in the third block.

Most people would have been flabbergasted when they walked inside Serena’s apartment because of how stunning it was, but Elisa wasn’t like most people.

Even though she had heard of how beautiful the room was from others when she entered, she only took a few glances at the surrounding, before moving her gaze to Serena.

“Are you here to see your sister? She was sent on a mission yesterday, but she should be back during the weekend. I can make some contact if you really want to talk to her, though.” Serena blurted.

A second after, Serena spoke, and Elisa shook her head. “No, I’m not here to see my sister. I’m here to see you instead.” Elias said.

“I need your help.”

Clearly, Serena hadn’t been expecting those words from Elisa, as she raised an eyebrow. She then stared at Elisa and appeared even more confused.

Elisa gasped before saying, “It’s about Raphael.”

“Raphael?” Serena mumbled when she heard Elisa, “Is he in danger, or did he do something wrong?” She asked.

“No, he didn’t do anything wrong, and he isn’t in danger,” Elisa responded. “The thing is, the both of us are-” Elisa paused.

She held the helm of the dress she was putting on when she wanted to say those words.

“The both of you are what?” Serena asked in a soft tone.

“We-We are together,” Elisa replied, and as she saw the perplexed look on Serena’s face after she had spoken, she decided to explain even further.

“We are in a relationship.”

A second after Elisa spoke, and Serena burst into laughter. Serena placed her hand on her stomach as she laughed at what she had just heard.

Even though she could see the change in Elisa’s expression after she had spoken, she wasn’t able to stop herself from laughing. It was only after a few seconds that she went quiet.

“I’m sorry, I just didn’t expect this,” Serena said.

As the expression still remained on Elisa’s face, Serena heaved a breath. “I’m not making fun of you, I just never thought of Raphael, as the sort of person who would want to be in a relationship with anybody.”

“Why?” Elisa asked.

And in response, Serena shook her head. “Never mind. So, what do you need my help with?”

While Elisa was interested to know why Serena had said those words, she chose to put it at the back of her mind for now.

“I know you’re not the person I should be asking because of the relationship between the both of you, but I just know if that there’s someone who knows him better then it’s you,” Elisa said.

As Serena nodded her head, Elisa’s cheeks raised, and she said, “Raphael is a nice person and I do like him. I want to know what you think about him, should I be scared, and what am I getting myself into?” Elisa asked with a worried look on her face.

For the first few seconds after Elisa spoke, there was no response from Serena. She had her eyes fixed on Elisa and for some reason, a smile appeared on her face.

“You shouldn’t be scared, Raphael won’t hurt you,” Serena said, and as she saw the anxious look on Elisa’s face, she moved a bit closer to her.

“You’ve known me for a very long time, haven’t you?” Serena paused, “Raphael won’t hurt you in any way, and the fact that he’s even in this with you means he really thinks highly of you.”

“Trust me, I have met a lot of women who wanted to have a relationship with Raphael, people who are far older and even more powerful than he is, but he turned them all down. You’re different from him, so there’s no reason why you should be scared.”

This time around, the worried look on Elisa’s face lessened.

“You just have to trust the process, is that okay?” Serena said, and as Elisa nodded their other head, a smile appeared on both of their faces.

“Serena, hmm, there’s one more thing,” Elisa said. “I’m aware of my feelings for him, but I’m not so sure that he likes me the way that I do for him.”

“Even when he said he was going to give us a try I was very shocked, to be honest, I didn’t see any of it coming. I still shouldn’t be asking you this, but do you know any way that I can use to perhaps win Raphael over?” Elisa asked.

When Serena heard Elisa, she raised an eyebrow before then placing her hand on her chin.

“Actually, I do,” Serena replied.

As Serena saw the look on Elisa’s face, she smiled, “Calm, okay.”

“Raphael isn’t the person you should be concerned about at the moment.” Serena said, “The person you should be concentrated on is the owl that is always on his shoulder.”

“You mean Gus?”

Serena nodded her head, “By now, you should have realized that Raphael isn’t like most guys, he doesn’t fancy a lot of things and it’s really hard to impress him.”

“But, if you want to win Raphael over or his approval, then you must first have Gus’s consent.”

Elisa was a little puzzled when she heard Serena, she, however, remained quiet and listened to what Serena had to say.

“Don’t underestimate Gus in any way because if there’s someone who knows Raphael the most, then it’s Gus. And the bond between the both of them is terrific.” Serena paused, “If you’re able to win Gus’s consent, then you already have Raphael.”

“Do you know how I can win Gus’s consent,” Elisa heaved a deep breath.

“That’s where the problem is.” Serena responded, “That pesky little creature is proud, arrogant, annoying, and also very snobby.”

Elisa chuckled, “Gus actually seems friendly. I haven’t seen any of the quality you mentioned, so I guess I’m off to a good start.” Elisa said with a smile on her face.

However, when Serena heard Elisa, she shook her head and then stared at Elisa with an eyebrow raised.

“Have you ever seen Gus sit on someone else shoulder, except from Raphael?” Serena inquired.

Elisa began to recall all the times she had seen Gus with someone, when it was with Devon, Aiden, Bane, or Melinda, she pondered very deeply. But after a few seconds, she raised her head and said.

“No, I haven’t seen him on anyone’s shoulder except Raphael, Gus mostly sat on their head instead,” Elisa mumbled. “This doesn’t mean anything, right, or does it?”

Serena sneered, “Oh, trust me, it means a lot.” She said.

“Gus’s action of always sitting on people’s heads instead of their shoulders as it does to Raphael means that it looks down on them. Apart from Raphael, every other person is beneath it, and considered a piece of shit.” Serena blurted.

As Serena saw the doubtful expression that was on Elisa, she spoke, “I’m serious, that’s what it means. Gus doesn’t consider you to be equal, except Raphael, it doesn’t believe anyone else is qualified.

“Including me,” Serena muttered.

Serena remembered the day that she had placed Gus on her shoulder, and instead of sitting, it flew away and began to laugh at her.

And that expression full of mockery that she saw wasn’t one that she could forget.

“If you’re able to make Gus sit on your shoulder, without it of course moving away, then it approves of you. And from there, every other aspect could go smoothly. Very smoothly.” Serena said.

“Hmm”

“Thanks, Serena,” Elisa bowed her head gently. “I will be leaving now.”

With a smile on her face, Elisa stood from her seat and left the room. On her way out, her mouth opened slightly, and she mumbled, “How hard could it be.”
