Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 146

Chapter 146

146 Tower I

The first round of the tournament was held in the test domain, and the second round was also held in the domain.

The stage was set, the directors and crowds were already at the venue, and as the eligible students stepped into the domain, they were astounded by a thirteen-story building In the domain.

It was a big, tall, and elegant tower with steel colored triangular roof.

And regardless of what angle the tower was looked at, it was extremely unique.

“Impressive!”

One of the students exclaimed as he stared at the tower.

A nod came from two of the directors who were seating on the obsidian throne.

The shocked expression was anticipated, as they hadn’t been anyone who had seen the tower and didn’t react that way.

The director allowed the student a few more minutes to admire the tower, and once it was time, he waved his hand at the student who was standing beside him.

.....

Without delay, the student’s voice rang out.

“We welcome you to the second round of the tournament,” He said.

“Without wasting much of our time, I will quickly brief you on what the tower and what this test is all about.”

As soon as the male student’s voice rang, the one hundred contestants were quick to move their gaze away from the tower to him.

They all had very stern expressions on their faces, as they listened to every word that came out of his mouth attentively.

“The tower is used to test the willpower and perseverance of a metahuman.”

“It consists of twelve steps, with each step increasing the pressure and tribulation force you must endure.”

“And for those who want to qualify, you must be able to reach the sixth step. The more steps you can climb, the more talented you’re said to be.”

The contestant’s faces lit up and one after the other they turned toward the tower.

“The tower can accommodate twenty people at a time, so once you hear your name, please move to the tower.”

“Darnell Hatley.”

“Bull Calhoun.”

“Ana Campbell.”

“Eggleston Mathew”

“Bane Sennevile”

Bane’s eyes twitched when he heard his name called out.

“See you at the top.” Bane said.

Those whose names were called hastily went into the tower, but Bane didn’t.

Instead, he took his time, and with his hands placed in his pocket, he walked majestically to the tower.

Devon shook his head as he saw Bane walking posture, as for Aiden, he placed his hand on his face.

“Marcel Bler”

As that name rang out, everyone moved their eyes to the youth who was now walking towards the tower.

A tall, bald, muscular man with bushy sideburns approached the tower. He had orange eyebrows, and red markings under his eyes, as well as a ridge cranium.

Meanwhile, as the contestant stared at Marcel, the student who was behind the directors suddenly moved towards Nicholas.

He whispered to Nicholas softly, and whatever it is that he said caused Nicholas to flare.

“How dare you!!!”

As Nicholas’s cold and ruthless voice rang out, a force barrier was quickly placed in the area where the seven directors were.

The force barrier prevented the others to be able to see them or hearing any of what they were saying. In fact, it was as though the seven directors were not in the domain, to begin with.

“What is it this time around?” Layla said as she stared at Nicholas and Vermont.

There was rage written all over Nicholas’s face, as for Vermont, he didn’t even glance at the person staring at him with eyes full of killing intent.

Iris turned towards Wyatt, who in return shrugged his shoulders at her.

“Nicholas, what’s wrong? You should say it, and let’s put an end to it, or you hold your peace.” Layla blurted in an emotionally detached tone.

There was then a sneer from Nicholas after Layla spoke.

“The assassin division killed twelve students from my division. Twelve!!! Within two days, twelve students are gone.”

Nicholas clenched his hand into a fist, “I won’t have reacted if it were any other student, but they ended three of the top students in the research and support division.”

A second after Nicholas spoke, a burst of laughter rang out.

Grayson cracked up, as he heard the devastating news that struck the research and support division.

“This is starting to make no sense.” Nicholas blurted.

“No, no, no, Nicholas, it makes perfect sense,” Grayson said. “As you said, the assassin division is simply doing their work, we should also do ours.”

“Hahaha!”

There was a sneer on Nicholas’s face as Grayson used his words against him.

He could also see the remaining director laughing at him, he slowly shook his head and then said.

“What are you laughing at!’

“It isn’t only the research and support division that lost students or even top students, but you also as well.”

The expression on their faces changed as they heard Nicholas.

They shifted their gaze and one of them asked, “What does this mean Vermont?”

Before Vermont would even respond, Nicholas’s voice sounded.

“I will tell you what it means. The research and support lost twelve students, the norms lost eight students, the tech lost ten students, and the elite lost two students.

“Ohh, and lastly, the murderer division lost eighteen students.”

Grayson, as well as the other director, opened their mouth as they heard Nicholas.

The person who received the most hit about the news that was just broken to them was Grayson.

He glared at Vermont, the director of the assassin league, and said, “Your methods always amuse me.”

“But, unlike how the others have ignored the dirty ways which the assassin division handled things in the academy, my first-year students won’t.

“We will be coming for you soon, Vermont. Very soon!”

With that said, and the force around the directors was dispersed.

Meanwhile, the moment the twenty students walked into, the tournament began.

A huge screen that revealed all that was going on inside the tower appeared in the domain, and everyone’s eyes were glued to the screen in front.

Raphael stood with his hand folded across his chest, and his attention on the screen.

“Hello there.”

Suddenly, a voice rang out beside Raphael.

The voice was directed to Raphael and as he turned towards the person, his lips curved inwardly.

“I’m sure you must have heard of me,” The silver-haired youth said. “But either way, I would like to introduce myself.”

“I’m Jeremy... Jeremy Mccall.”
