Chapter 34: Agreement

"We want to be under the best sect that’s willing to accept us," Su Han suddenly said out loudly.

"Who’s that?"

Stepping forward, Su Hei bent down with one knee. He looked so solemn and formal. Unlike his younger brother, he was dressed in normal village clothes that could be seen every single day. While it did look a bit better than the others, the difference was minimal.

"This humble one is Su Hei," Su Hei replied solemnly. "I’m the leader of the hunting squad of this village."

It was normal for all village to have hunting squad since they would not survive out here if they only relied on vegetables. They needed the nutrition that they could only get from meat. Because of that, the position as the leader of hunting squad was usually given to the strongest one in the village.

Liu Gang scanned Su Hei carefully. He nodded his head when he saw Su Hei’s progress. "You’re not bad. Unfortunately, you’re already too old."

The reason for the age restriction for cultivators was because the most suitable age to grow stronger would be when they were still under 20 years old. The goal was to have them reach foundation establishment before they reached 30 years old, so they set the lowest requirement to be reaching body training rank 6 before age 20.

Some higher ranking sect might have stricter requirement, but it was the requirement for the sects around here.

Su Hei clasped his fist and stayed calm. It was the word that he hated the most to hear in the village. He was already 27 years old, which was nearing the age limit to enter foundation establishment. Any older than this, there was basically no hope for him to become a foundation establishment cultivator.

Time was running thin for him.

Yet he was helpless since he couldn’t rush things or he would be ruined for life.

"Many thanks for your praise, Representative Liu," Su Hei said solemnly.

Liu Gang nodded. "Since you said that you want the best sect who wants to accept your village, which sect do you have in mind?"

That tricky question would be hard to answer. There were three different sects’ representative here and saying one of them meant that they didn’t like the other two. That would undoubtedly be a face slap to them.

Su Hei’s grip in his hand grew tighter. "This humble one is not knowledgeable enough, so I can’t answer, Your Highness!"

That meant: he didn’t know.

Lin Xiao pursed his lips when he heard Su Hei’s answer. Unlike his younger brother, Su Hei was much smarter and harder to deal with. He didn’t like that annoying man at all.

Apparently, Liu Gang liked Su Hei’s answer too. He nodded and smiled. "In that case, we’re going to give you a show about what we can do tomorrow."

Su Hei’s eyes lit up. "Many thanks for your kindness, Your Highness!"

"It’s nothing much," the woman interjected. Her eyes were also looking at Su Hei with a bit of interest. "The one who will show it area our disciples."

The three disciples, who were surveying the surroundings with a bit annoyed gaze, quickly straightened their seating position. They could see that their respective masters were looking in their direction.

"Yes, Master!"

"I won’t disappoint you, Master!"

"Of course, Master!"

Three different answers came from the three disciples. Liu Gang snorted while the third man only closed his eyes. He looked bored and had disinterest in what was going on here.

"I want to rest."

"We’re going to show you the way, Your Highness."

The woman nodded and stood up. She stretched her perfectly sculpted body and pointed to the table filled with food with her slender finger. "Don’t forget to pack some food for us."

"Yes, Your Highness!"

"Good."

The three of them walked away with the three elders leading them. The three disciples were looking at Su Hei and one of them stepped forward. He had unbridled look and also messy hair, but there was clear competitive look within his eyes.

"By the end of my performance tomorrow, you’re going to choose Wang Luo Sect for sure!" the young man said with a grin.

Su Hei was taken aback with the sudden declaration. The young man’s personality was nothing like his master, that lazy yet beautiful teacher. He cupped his hand. "I’ll be waiting to see your performance."

"Hmm, that’s good." The young man nodded. "I’m Luo Lan. You better remember my name!"

"Yes, I understand."

Pfft!

The faint laughter from the back attracted their attention. By this time, Lin Yun was looking at his brother as if he wished that he had never knew the other party.

Lin Xiao was holding back his laughter from seeing Su Hei so polite and all. After all, he had seen how Su Hei usually acted in the past and would always be the leader of them all. There was no way Su Hei wanted to lower his head on normal condition.

"Who’s that?" Luo Lan roared in anger.

The two other disciples also creased their eyebrows, but they chose not to get involved. One of them turned around and left while the other one, the only female disciple among the three disciple stayed behind.

"Sorry, Young Master Luo." Lin Xiao raised his hand yet the corner of his lips was still twitching. "I’m just surprised that you’re only interested with the hunting squad leader even though there are more than one teenager in this villager."
