Chapter 38: Skills from the Three Sects

After the usual daily activity, the two siblings returned back to the village the next day. Just like the day before, Wenren Yu stayed inside the residence without any intention to get out in the slightest bit. He didn’t want to meet with the people from the three sects if it was unnecessary.

"Lin Xiao, over here!"

"Right." Lin Xiao looked at the young man who called him. His name was Bao Tu, he was one of the three other youngsters who had reached body training rank 6 in this village. If the incident with Taiyi Sect hadn’t happened, he would have participated in the entrance test and joined Taiyi Sect this year.

It seemed that his little ploy from yesterday worked too well because these youngsters all sided with him despite the fact that many of them disliked him.

The position that the youngster reserved was in the side near the middle. While it might not be the best spot, it was far better than standing at the back where they could barely see the podium.

It didn’t take long before the three disciples came up. Lin Xiao could easily recognize Luo Lan and Bai Xin. The last young man was very similar to his teacher as he was very aloof. It was as if he was standing at the peak with everyone below him deemed as worthless.

A bit annoying, yet no one dared to speak up.

If they were selected as disciple, there was no doubt that they would be powerful, much more powerful than the villagers here.

"Today we’re going to demonstrate some skills from our sects," Luo Lan said with loud voice. He grinned. "In addition, we’re going to teach you the basic of these moves but if you want to learn more, you’ll have to pass the test that we’re going to hold in a week’s time."

"You mean our teacher," Bai Xin interjected.

"Yes, our teachers going to hold the test," Luo Lan quickly corrected his voice.

Bai Xin huffed a bit, feeling annoyed by this young man who always spoke without thinking first. She scanned the villagers below her. "Even though what we’re going to show are nothing but simple movements, it’s important skill to be able to survive in the wilderness."

"Ah?"

"Yes!"

The villagers were excited when they saw the three of them spoke and explained like that. He knew that the disciples might not be as strong as the teachers, but the reason many of them wished to join the sect was because of those skills. Only by joining the sects would they be able to learn many important skills.

"I’m going to start!" Luo Lan said with excitement. He looked at the other two. "Do you have any objection?"

"No."

"None."

Hearing their answer, Luo Lan stood at the middle. He took a deep breath as the atmosphere around him changed. "The skill I’m going to show you is called Tiger’s Punch! It’s the type of fierce punch that can destroy everything, including bones and rocks!"

"But you still can’t destroy rock properly," Bai Xin muttered.

Luo Lan pretended that he hadn’t heard anything from Bai Xin as he started to perform the skill. The movement was fast and the internal flow of Qi couldn’t be seen from outside. However, when Luo Lan’s fist hit the rock that was already prepared beforehand, it exploded after a second.

"Woah!"

"Amazing!"

Lin Xiao’s eyes narrowed. He glanced to Lin Yun. "Do you see that?"

"Yes?"

"The stone is already cracked even before the punch," Lin Xiao whispered. "The power of the punch is not that strong. It looks similar with Mountain’s Punch too but feel like the weaker version of it."

Lin Yun nodded. The two of them were speaking in low voice to avoid other people hearing their conversation. He too also understood what his brother wanted to tell him. Even though they were a distance away from the stage, he could see that the rock was already a bit cracked.

Still, the power behind that punch was not ordinary.

"Body training rank 7."

"His rank?"

"Yes."

Lin Xiao’s face turned strange. If he was not wrong, Luo Lan challenged Su Hei yesterday. But it was only now that he realized that Luo Lan was actually a rank lower compared to Su Hei. Did it mean that Luo Lan believed he could defeat Su Hei even though he was at a rank lower?

"So crude as always," Bai Xin said with a snort.

Luo Lan laughed. "What kind of skill are you going to show to us, Xin’er?"

"It’s Snake Counterattack," Bai Xin replied. She stood in the middle, standing at the opposite side from Luo Lan. "Attack me with all you got."

That invitation perked Luo Lan’s interest. His eyes shone with fighting spirit as he gathered his Qi. "In that case, I won’t be polite!"

Stepping on the ground, Luo Lan’s leg created a dent. The charge itself was filled with raw power as he stretched his fist to punch towards Bai Xin.

On the other hand, Bai Xin was standing with her right hand in front of her. The shape of her hand was that of a palm and not fist. The moment Luo Lan’s fist reached her range, Bai Xin swiftly moved.

She caught Luo Lan’s fist and swiftly tilted her body before slamming Luo Lan on the ground.

Bam!

"You’re so weak," Bai Xin said mercilessly.
