[End Of Information]
My eyes bulged as I saw the large Demon’s Stats. Not only was its level twice as high as the average Hobgoblin, but its stats were also something else entirely.
“It looks like its size isn’t just for show!” I mumbled, summoning my weapons to fight.
For one of its kind to be here, it only meant more were stationed inside. Even for me, taking on many Demons like him could prove to be a challenge, especially with Archer Hobgoblins aiming at me.
“How exciting! I don’t believe I’ve had an extremely close fight in a while!”
The Hobgoblins who aimed their arrows at me launched them without warning, sending the sharpened wooden projectiles my way.
Tracing their trajectory, I figured out they were all aimed at me and my surroundings, none were going to miss!
Swinging both my arms fluidly, I leaped into the air and met the multitude of arrows.
>SWISH<
My sharp edge was able to instantly slice through the wood. Swinging more rapidly, I cut through everything that attempted to touch my body.
However, the moment I was done dealing with the first batch of arrows, the second was already launched.
My eyes darted at the culprits, who were already loading their bows for the third batch. I could easily kill them off with my Weapons but chose not to. This was going to be a practice match for me since I would be venturing into the compound soon.
‘If I don’t learn how to deal with their arrows now, it’ll become a bother!’ I reasoned.
After all, compared to the possible thousands that waited for me beyond the gate, my weapons were limited. I couldn’t rely on them to stop thousands of arrows launched at me.
In that case, I needed to familiarize myself with the feeling of being chased by their projectiles.
Their Strength. Speed. Sharpness. Trajectory. Reload Rate.
I burned everything I could learn into my head while dealing with the projectiles as they were launched one after the other.
>SWISH<
>SWISH<
>SWISH<
My blade relentlessly cut through the arrows and I managed to evade most, though receiving a few scrapes here and there. Using my minor injuries as a basis of judgment, I knew I was sure to receive even more damage in the fight to come.
‘Welp, I’ve come this far. Might as well see this through to the end…’
The Hobgoblin Archers finally stopped firing. At first, I thought they had probably grown tired, however, upon closer inspection, I realized they had run out of arrows.
“GARUIIIIIKKKKKK!!!” They growled angrily, all glaring at me.
It was likely that no one had survived their attacks for this long, so they must have been surprised that their arrows had been expended. With nothing else to do than resort to a direct approach, they lunged at me with full force, hoping to subdue me with numbers.
That was a fatal mistake for them!
I merely watched as they drew closer, not making even the slightest attempt to struggle. The Hobgoblin (Tanker) stood still, not neglecting his position which was directly in front of the gate.
The moment the hundred-plus guards reached a certain range from my location, approximately five meters, whooshing sounds filled the air, and flashes of red light danced.
In an instant, my several weapons pierced the Hobgoblins in their numbers, killing them instantly.
“Haa… to think it actually works so efficiently! Excellent!” I grinned.
The Demon corpses turned into dust ad their Cores instantly disappeared, going to my [Subspace] as a result of my new Job-Related Skill <Mine Alone>.
The reason they all died without me even lifting a finger or having to activate any Skill was as a result of a SubSkill I unlocked from an existing Skill after my Job Ranked-Up.
That’s right! <Automatic Summon> was currently active. As long as the need for protection was present, if an enemy entered a certain range with hostile intents, an appropriate item from [Subspace] would be summoned to instantly neutralize it.
Of course, it wasn’t all-powerful, and I couldn’t maintain it forever. Not only did it consume a lot of MP, but it also had made a lot of unnecessary moves, which included summoning food and water anytime I was hungry or thirsty.
I also couldn’t have it active around Gifteds, since I could unintentionally kill someone like Melissa If she decided to approach me carelessly.
I had only activated it in this battle because I didn’t have time to worry about summoning weapons while fighting and evading arrows. With so many things to do at the same time, I needed to evenly split my attention.
So, while I fought and evaded, <Automatic Summon> would handle the enemies I neglected around me.
‘Absolutely efficient!’
Without the need for directly using <Recall>, the weapons returned to [Subspace] since I had set the ‘Automatic Time-Lapse Allocated’ to ten seconds.
One of <Recall>’s effects is to return my property after an approximate amount of time which I could set manually after the new patch. Since I edited it, this meant that after a few seconds, [Subspace] would be restocked and <Automatic Summon> could be used in succession.
It was a good thing I had taken my time to think of the most efficient ways to utilize my new abilities!
“Ahh… all that’s left is you.” I smiled, looking at the Hobgoblin (Tanker) who gave me a deathly glare.
Stepping in the puddle of Demon blood that had nearly evaporated, I advanced to the last monster guarding the gate.
Deactivating <Automatic Summon> and all other Skills, I had only my dual daggers on hand. To fully judge the strength of the Hobgoblin (Tanker), this much was necessary.
‘My Skills will eventually run out when I’m inside, so I should try testing my base strength against this guy…’ I reasoned.
The moment I got closer, nearly reaching it, the Demon geared itself for battle, now making its move. A wide grin formed on my face as I opened my arms wide to welcome it.
“Let’s see what you’ve got!”
