Rise Of The Hoarder

Chapter 165 Death To Demons (Pt 2)

Chapter 165 Death To Demons (Pt 2)

Before I could react, however, the magic circle glowed brightly and sent a wave of light permeating the surroundings.

I had to close my eyes to prevent being affected by the blinding light. By the time the light ceased and my eyes naturally opened, though… the deed had already been done.

“Hehehe, GAGAHIRUIIIKK!!!” The Hobgoblins seemed to sneer as they looked in my direction once again.

In their seemingly inexhaustible number, their gazes were now focused on me. A wide grin of happiness and satisfaction was painted all over their face.

“Oh shit!”

I didn’t need a prophet to tell me… the Demons could now see me!

‘Fvck!’

Whether I remained stationary or not, it didn’t matter at this point. The bloodthirsty and annoyed monsters all wanted a piece of me and were already heading in my direction. Their pace hastened as they marched, hurriedly trying to close the gap that existed between us.

Though they were slow, the Hobgoblins were going to reach me sooner or later. In a bit of frustration, I realized that the cause for my position being compromised was most likely the Hobgoblin Casters.

They were more troublesome than I gave them credit for.

‘It seems they need time to chant their spell, though…’ I reasoned, seeing no effort on the Casters’ end to rain down fireball on me or anything worthy of being called magic.

I wasn’t out of options, though.

“I still have the fireballs I collected from earlier…”

If I used that, U would be able to kill off a good number of them. Shaking my head vehemently, I decided against that approach.

‘I’ll save as for a last resort…’

Deciding to try out the Skills I hadn’t used at all, I checked the list of all my Skills..

‘Oh? Now that I think about it-!’

There was one Skill I had obtained back in the apartment that I rarely used due to its huge mana consumption.

<Roar>.

Its effects were destructive, but it cost too much MP. However, at the moment I had more than enough Mana. With the effects of <Magician>, MP wouldn’t be an issue.

I had <Aura> that buffed my abilities as well, so it was going to be quite effective. Using <Glare>, I weakened the movement speed of the enemies that rushed at me, taking a very deep breath.

My cheeks were puffed, ready to activate the Skill that boasted one of the most destructive capabilities in my arsenal.

‘<Roar>’

Opening my mouth and pouring my energy into the loud shout, I felt everything around vibrate, blurring the very space in an instant.

>BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM<

The Sonic boom I caused sent hundreds of Demons toppling among each other. None could draw closer since they were all pushed back. Tho unfortunate ones at the forefront were ripped into shreds by the scathing effects of my sonic explosion.

Even the grounds split in response to my cries.

“Huu… that was fun…” I muttered, feeling a little sore in my throat.

The Skill entered Cooldown, as expected.

Well, I wasn’t really relying on it, the thought just sprang up the moment I spotted it in my Skills Window.

With many hundreds blown away by my initial attack, I decided not to let the momentum go to waste and quickly exploit the opportunity to deal more damage to them.

Of everything that was left untested, I had <Dirty Play> and <Parlor Tricks>. Deciding on the first to try, I went for the former since it had a maximum use of three times a day, unlike <Parlor Tricks> with only one.

“<Dirty Play>” I muttered, wondering what random negative effects would be inflicted upon my already debuffed targets.

I decided to check out what exactly poisoning did.

[Status Ailment]

<Posioning>

~ Removes 1 percent of HP per minute.~

[End Of Information]

‘Oh? That’s neat!’

While it might have not seemed very much when trying to end a fight quickly, <Poisoning> was extremely useful for long battles. Even if I remained in my position or went on the defensive, the Demons would naturally lose health.

And, since it was 1 percent per minute, in less than two hours… my targets would die!

“I don’t have the time to wait, though…” I muttered.

Deciding to see how far the Skill went, I tried it out again. This time, a different Status Ailment fell on the Demons.

<All Targets Will Experience The Status Ailment ‘Blindness’>

I was <Blindness> this time, something I didn’t expect. Quickly checking the details, I figured out how it worked.

[Status Ailment]

<Blindness>

~ Blinds Targets For A Period Of 5 Minutes.~ (The Effects Vary According To The Level Of Resistance Possessed.)

[End Of Information]

It was possible that the effects would increase against fodder, and the more powerful I became, the longer the effects would last.

So far, I wasn’t disappointed by what I had seen. As for the Hobgoblins afflicted by two Status Ailments at the same time, they writhed in pain, itching their bodies as purple veins grew manifested all over them.

Not only did they suffer from such intense pain that ate away at their life force, but the pitiful monsters also couldn’t see a thing.

Even though I heard disturbingly painful groans that could make anyone break down in pity… why was I having such a thrilled expression on my face.
