[End Of Information]
I stared hard at my information and realized that I was royally screwed.
“What the hell… shit!”
What an unfortunate error I had made. Even after all the time I had used to restrain myself, after the great length I withheld myself several times… thanks to the bizarre occurrence that caught me off-guard I was now stuck with an Alignment I didn’t want.
“Neutral Evil, eh? Damnit…”
It even has the ‘Depraved’ qualifier beside it.
Just as there was the ‘Penitent’ qualifier for people like Daniel, showing how much they had changed and the reasons for their switch, the ‘Depraved’ one signified one’s descent into a more malevolent Alignment.
‘I had this coming for a while, but… I made sure to use the loopholes well…’
If it hadn’t been for Daniel’s sudden attack, then…
“Shit! How did he even show up in the first place?” I growled and stomped the ground, causing it to quake.
For a moment, I totally forgot about the presence of Lily who was kneeling beside me. My brainwashing process hadn’t been finalized on her, so she just kept looking at me blankly—in utter confusion.
At the moment, I was in no mood for attending to her.
‘That golden light that came from Daniel… I didn’t know he had any ability similar to that!’ My mind rang as I tried reasoning what the cause could have been.
I was aware of the three Skills that came with the ‘Knight’ Job he chose, and none of them actually resonated with the overpowering ability he had just displayed.
Not only did he completely resurrect, but his powers were also nothing like before, and if I didn’t have <Automatic Summon> on, there was no guarantee that I would even be alive at the moment.
Whatever abilities he displayed were too overpowered to be called a Skill—especially when we were still in the beginning phase. Even Gifts weren’t as bizarre as this.
To have multiple overpowered phenomena occurring simultaneously… that was unreasonable!
‘Plus, what was with the feeling it gave me…?’
Something about the golden energy resonated with me. It felt so familiar, like I had seen it before. Other than the strange sense of affinity with the energy, it also commanded a great deal of fear and reverence from it.
I almost couldn’t even recognize that the one who was within the light was Daniel until he got so close—even though I had an extremely sharp vision.
My senses would have picked him up and registered him as Daniel, but the one I sensed on the penthouse—the strange being that destroyed the Camp building and charged at me… he only looked like Daniel and sounded like him.
To my senses, it was as if the resurrected boy had become a completely different being. Judging by the fear it commanded in me, and how the vague sense of powerlessness caused me to panic… it was almost as of I was facing God himself!
‘Tch… what the hell is happening? I have no idea!” I growled again, stomping the ground harder and harder, causing the environment to take damage and shatter apart.
“A-arh… y-you’re hurting me…” A shrill voice came from the ground, and I sharply turned to see who spoke.
It was Lily.
She had snapped from her daze and was now staring at me expectantly and with a tinge of fear in her eyes. Apparently, my violent movements had somehow caused her a bit of hurt.
“Ah, I see…” I murmured, moving close to her.
As my eyes watched her, I slowly began to calm down. The gentle expression she had, and the oblivious smile plastered on her face as she looked at me awkwardly melted all my anxieties—well, some of them.
“I’m sorry, Lily,” I whispered, drawing closer to her.
‘That’s right. There’s no need to overthink this… I’ll figure this out as I go…’ My thoughts trailed as I caressed the girl’s cheeks with my hand, feeling the softness and smoothness of her skin.
No matter, I had already killed Daniel and gotten rid of my current adversaries. All that was left would be to secure a bit more (G) Karma Points to Level Up my [Subspace], see if I could find any more Grade 2 Boss Monsters, and gain more loot.
Yes, those would be my major goals for the moment.
However, for now… I could just relax a bi—
>BZZZZZZZTTTTTZZZZZZZZ<
>ZTTTTTZZZZZZTTZZZZZZ<
>WHUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM<
I suddenly heard glitches, as if a million bugs ran through an electrical device. My senses felt a great distortion in space, and I felt a heavy pressure, none as I had ever experienced before.
My body shivered, my heart beat faster than ever, and my eyes couldn’t even blink for the fear that I would open them anymore.
Saliva formed in my throat as I sensed the great anomaly occurring behind me. Even as I faced Lily, the bizarre ripple in space grabbed all my attention.
It felt like if I turned behind to look, I would instantly die! That was how powerful the presence behind me was!
‘What is it? Is it Daniel? I killed him already, though!’ My mind rang in a panic.
No, this feeling was different from the golden light. It didn’t feel as familiar, but the oppressive feeling they both commanded was similar.
The light from earlier carried a more overwhelming force, but this… this feeling I currently had as whatever being who was behind me emerged was completely terrifying!
