Chapter 418: Breakthrough & Path
Tianlong Yun was already on the verge of a breakthrough before getting out of the Old Pouch, but this last time seemed to have been especially rewarding as he was right at the bottleneck.
He was more than sure that the moment he had recovered his lost Soul Power, and mental fortitude he would most probably pass the bottleneck, and make the breakthrough.
This was an important step for him, so there was no way he didn't feel happy, and excited about it, as he immediately sat down in a lotus position, and entered meditation.
It was a good thing that he was a Nascent Soul Realm Qi cultivator, and a Soul Apprentice to have the stamina and the mental fortitude needed to survive this place.
If he missed even one of the two then he would surely be a dead man. It wasn't a surprise when you thought about all the experts that had died in this place.
All of them could be separated into two categories, either people with Soul Cultivation or with Qi cultivation.
The people who cultivated only the Soul were able to resist the enticing, and that voice from this place, but most probably was taken down by the entities of this place.
While the cultivators of Qi were even more miserable, as they weren't able to resist that strange weak voice, that was a mental, and soul attack, and ended up either killing themselves or too easy to be dealt with.
It seemed like Tianlong Yun was the bane of this place, as he not only had the power to resist the soul attack, but he also had the necessary stamina to persevere continuously.
At this time, he was almost totally recovering his soul power and mental fortitude, when all of a sudden, his conscience sea started to churn.
There were no winds to be felt, as the sea was getting more and more enraged. Slowly but surely, waves were starting to disrupt its earlier calm, and stagnation.
The waves started small at first, but then they started to grow bigger with each passing one, it seemed like each one of them wanted to show the other that it could grow bigger.
But they weren't alone as in many other parts there were slowly starting to form tornadoes, and typhoons, as even the stagnant soul space started trembling like a huge earthquake was happening.
It took only a moment for the peace and quiet atmosphere to turn into a powerful and huge sea storm, that was able to destroy everything in its wake.
Right at this moment, Tianlong Yun was controlling his soul avatar inside the conscience space, as he looked at whatever was happening below him with a natural exciting look.
He had been waiting so long for this moment, and it was finally here. Surely it wouldn't be a walk in the park, but its importance could not be measured.
This was the true entry point towards Soul Cultivation, as he could finally be considered as someone more than trivial.
The first two stages of Soul Cultivation were nothing more than being born and childhood if we compared it to human life stages.
If we continue like that, then being a Soul Master was comparable to being a teenager, it was finally the time when one finally started to walk with his own steps.
This was also the most important stage as it was the time when someone built their foundation, and in a way shaped their inner selves, their characters, and goals.
Cultivating the Soul meant to cultivate oneself character, emotions, feelings, mental fortitude, and so on and so forth.
Soul Master Realm was the point when one finally chose their own path towards which they would build and progress upon.
Tianlong Yun was no exception to this, as his soul avatar seemed to have finally been hit with some kind of powerful hypnosis and illusion, as it was lost in an endless dark space.
It was almost the same as outside, completely dark, and stagnant. But this place was even more terrifying as it didn't just give an eerie feeling, but it horrified the soul.
Both places couldn't even be compared to each other, as the disparity between them was like that of night and day.
In that place, the soul was suppressed, as it felt really weak, like some kind of worm, unworthy of attention.
But that wasn't all, as he felt like his soul and inner feelings were open, and in clear view for anyone and anything in there to read, and see.
He felt like he was naked in every sense of the word, and even someone that didn't care about it like him was strangely feeling a bit shame.
Even though he felt like there was nothing, and no one where he was, he still couldn't help but feel that. This made him want to laugh out loud at himself, apparently, he was still a bit 'fresh'.
But that didn't last for long, because in that short time, his desires, feelings, and emotions seemed to be overwhelming him, and being catalyzed.
He could feel his desire for revenge and bloodlust increase suddenly, as it started to even cloud his clarity and Soul.
It seemed like these two feelings had a chant of their own, and the more he heard it the more he felt like he was destined to be a cold-blooded and emotionless killer.
He didn't understand how, or why these two feelings were overwhelming him and making him think that his only path was killing.
At that moment it seemed like the devil was whispering in his ears,
"They betrayed you! They cheated you! Death is the only way! Become a cold-blooded killer! Kill Gods, and Buddha's! Kill the World! Kill Yourself! Killing is the Right Way! Killing is the only way!"
The more this continued, the more he was being convinced that killing was truly the only way. That was right, killing was the only way.
They had betrayed him, set him up, humiliated him, and eventually killed him! Nobody helped him! They didn't deserve living! They had to die, the cruelest, and the most painful deaths.
This rotten and corrupt world had to be killed! He had to take his revenge on the whole world, they had to pay for what they had done to him! The whole World was guilty!
It seemed like it was being set in stone that this was going to be his direction from here on, a long and bloody way that would slaughter anyone in front of him. Anyone!
As he thought that last word though, he found something strange with it, he felt like he was missing something. He wanted to remember what it was, but he couldn't.
He knew it was something really important, something vital for him, but no matter how much he thought about it, there was nothing.
It seemed like this moment would fade and disappear in nothingness any moment, but he was stubbornly trying to remember.
He felt like he would regret it for his existence if he didn't remember that thing, as slowly in that horrifying darkness, a small rosy flame started to burn inside his soul avatar.
The small, weak, delicate, and fragile flame seemed to be ready to go extinct at any moment, but it was still holding itself bravely.
Even though it seemed like it was going against a massive ocean, the weak flame still didn't relent her battle and kept surviving.
The moment that small flame appeared in there though, the tables seemed to have turned, as suddenly Tianlong Yun's soul avatar was finally hit with the information he wanted to remember.
It all came falling on him in one instant, and all the information at once, but that didn't matter, as the important thing was that he was finally able to remember.
He was finally able to remember his oath, he was finally able to remember about his Mate, he was finally able to remember about this second opportunity and his primary goal.
It was true that revenge over those traitors, and their torture were a priority for him, but that wasn't his primary goal anymore.
His people around him, his women, his new family, had changed his approach towards this second opportunity.
He wasn't some kind of stupid kid that would be stuck on his revenge and would think only about it. He was a man that knew how to question himself, and understand his own wishes.
His primary goal in life had long ago changed, as he now wanted to be at the peak of the Universe, and look down on everyone, as he lived happily with his family at the peak.
His foundation, his empire, was just a means to make sure that no one would disturb him later, a deterrence of sorts.
Of course, to reach his goal, killing, and blood were indispensable. After all, powerhouse hadn't risen on top of mountains of bodies, and oceans of blood.
Certainly, Tianlong Yun wasn't different from them, in fact, he knew that his way would perhaps be the bloodiest, as he wanted that lonely peak at the top.
And a huge part of that mountain and a massive amount of that blood would be from his old blood, but they had only their selves to blame.
It was their own decision that would bring such retribution over their heads, as they had to pay the price and the consequences of those choices and decisions.
His path was surely to involve blood, and killing, but his path was one of rule, and dominance, freedom, and unfettered.
Just as he made this decision, the whole pitch-black space disappeared, and he was once again returned back to his conscience space.
Right now the whole space had turned tranquil, and stagnant once again, but he could feel that the difference with what he had earlier was like that of Heaven and Earth.
