Chapter 533: Finally Caught RedHanded!?

On the other hand, the 2nd Prince seemed to think exactly the opposite of them, as he was really sure there was no such thing in there.

Both sides were in their own right, thinking however it pleased them, as no one had any idea of what was truly going on.

The most surprised, and confused guy amidst them all was most probably Count Riva, but there was no sign of that on his face, he had his poker face on all this time.

It was really tiring, but there was nothing he could do about it, it was obligatory for him, his life depended on that face.

He had been so focused on keeping that poker face, and attitude of his that he had even forgotten to check with his puppet.

The only thing that gave him a feeling of relief was the sudden appearance of the 2nd Prince, but the next moment he wanted to punch the fu*cker on his face, and break his teeth, as he said,

"Let's go, Count Riva, let these 'gentlemen' have a look inside, and then drink some of that nice wine you have!"

Count Riva wanted to stall for time, and he thought that now with the presence of the 2nd Prince he would be able to buy a bit more time, but that fu*cker had the audacity to pressure him even more.

He had yet to receive news from his puppet, but there was nothing he could do to stall them more than this, he had to lower the barrier.

As he was racking his brains on how to try and stall them a bit more, he received a mental message that completely relieved him, and he said with a tone as calm and natural as he could,

"Well, of course, I have no intention of not obeying the decree of his Majesty the King, furthermore I would love to catch up a bit with your Highness too!"

In the first view, there didn't seem any change on him, but the sly fatty Marquess Dran was able to sense a slight feeling of relief from his voice, and he started to have a bad premonition about all this.

What had happened!? Had they been sloppy in their surrounding? Or was there some way for those guys to leave this place even then?

Some kind of secret passage, or something else? Just what the hell was going on? Why did he have that strange bad premonition?

The moment that the barrier was lowered, everyone in there that was surrounding Count Riva's inner castle opened their senses to the maximum to try and find any trace of those alien humans.

Nothing! Well not totally nothing, as they could feel the weak presence of one Alien human, who was still not enslaved, but that was extremely strange.

There should be a lot of Alien humans in this place, and in a much better shape than the only reaction that they were able to sense.

It just didn't make sense! Where the hell had they disappeared to? This was the question running through Marquess Dran, and Viscount Karne, as they didn't believe their senses for a moment or two.

It was impossible for those guys to disappear under their noses. Most probably they were just hiding at the moment. Yes, that was it, they were hiding!

With that thought in mind, the fat marquess Dran didn't even take the bother of announcing anything to Count Riva, he just said with a cold and detached voice,

"Search everywhere!"

He didn't want to accept that there was truly nothing in there, he didn't want to accept that he was in the wrong, otherwise, his reputation would take a huge hit.

It wasn't something simple to accuse a landed noble of treason, and then even secure a decree to search his place.

With this action, it was the same as turning all the landed nobles against him, and even declaring war on their faction.

If he was right, and he truly found evidence of treason, then he could use that as an excuse to attack and intimidate the other nobles, but if he didn't find anything those guys would ask for his head.

With his reputation in the Palace, and court they wouldn't be able to reach his head, but his reputation and power inside the Palace would certainly take huge damage.

He couldn't let something like that to happen. He couldn't allow all his hard work, pain, and suffering that he had gone through to suddenly disappear in just one night.

His actions were certainly against the ethic, and conduct of a research in a landed noble like Count Riva, he didn't care anymore.

There was no more time about games and courtesy. Furthermore, he would make sure that Count Riva was treated as a traitor by the end of the night, so why should he bother with him.

The 2nd Prince was there too, but he was nothing more than a brat in his eyes, a little bit of threatening would be enough to make him give up on Count Riva.

To his surprise, the 2nd Prince seemed much more furious at him about the lack of ethics than Count Riva which made him feel even stranger, his bad premonition was encapsulating him whole.

As if that wasn't enough, he heard Count Riva suddenly say,

"Marquees Dran, your Highness the 2nd Prince, how about we enjoy a bit of my special wine while the puppets, and soldiers search around the place.

We certainly don't have to wait here standing as they work, right?"

Normally it would have been Marquess Dran making such a suggestion, but with the current tense and unknown situation he wasn't really feeling it.

It was a good thing that he had a barking dog with him at that time, as Viscount Karne jumped ahead saying in a loud voice,

"Who would want to drink with a traitor like you!?"

Count Riva didn't seem to get agitated though, he just looked at the guy with a startled and confused face, and then started smiling as if he had just heard a joke, as he said,

"My, my Viscount Karne there you go cracking jokes once again! You and that sense of humor you got.

You are truly making me think that I had misjudged you all this time! but I don't think you have to worry about that, after all, I am a traitor only if I am proved to be one.

If that wasn't a joke, and I haven't been proven a traitor then wouldn't people think that you are just slandering me, and this was whole a perpetrated game from you!

You wouldn't want people to think that, would you?"

Hearing that Marquess Dran started to really think that he had made a huge mistake bringing that barking dog with him.

He was causing him more and more troubles, constantly giving Count Riva the upper hand, with those words, even if they found something he could just say that he was set up.

The simple and easy treason he had to uncover, and then take credit for had turned into such a damned double-edged sword, that was slowly coming towards him.

As if that wasn't enough, suddenly a few of his lackeys appeared to have returned from the search, and immediately went towards him to say something in his ear.

Hearing that a grin started to appear on Marquess Dran's face, as he looked towards Count Riva with a mocking look and saying,

"Well, well Count Riva are you sure that you can be so calm, after all, we have noticed quite a few abnormalities coming from the underground area of your room!

How about we go and have a look there?"

His words clearly startled the 2nd Prince and Viscount Karne, one's face went completely black as he turned his eyes towards Count Riva, while the other was gloating.

Finally, even though he had suffered so much under that bastard's sharp tongue for the night, finally he would have his revenge.

This was the end for that motherfu*cker that he had wanted to kill for every moment of his life. Finally, he would be able to accomplish the will of his ancestors and get rid of the Da Sal surname.

The 2nd Prince on his side had a gloomy and dark face, as he looked at Count Riva, who had a weird complexion for a moment, but then he took a deep breath, sighed, and said,

"Sigh~! Let us go then!"

Count Riva's actions didn't match with the situation, why did he seem like he wasn't being pressurized at that moment?

After all, this wasn't a setup proof from Marquess Dran or his people. He had already planned a few steps for that, but he didn't feel it was necessary when he heard this news.

So why the hell was this damn bastard Count Riva afraid of this? Why did he seem like he was removing a big weight from his shoulders, rather than being found out for treason?

Still, the news was real, his retainers were loyal and really well trained, there was no way for them to give a false report.

There were signs of alien human life coming from the underground of his room!

Without losing much time, Count Riva immediately turned around and started leading these guys towards his place, to be more exact towards his room.

The moment he reached there, he turned towards Marquess Dran and said in a solemn tone,

"Tell everyone else to leave this place, as we need to talk in secret Marquess Dran!"
